Can anyone tie the presence of the moonlight greatsword with the rest of the souls games lore?

I personally think Bloodborne is the world that happens in the future when the chosen undead decides to let the fire die.

The Great Ones can be Ayyys or they can be powerful humanity beasts, Gods that substituted the old ones (Gwyn, Nito, witch...)

Aesthetics apart, I find three ties with the DaS universe in bloodborne.

The trees in the background are very clearly a sign that we are in the old barren world, but the trees are now cut.

In the Artorias DLC, the chester very clearly comes from Bloodborne's time, dragged to Oolacile by Manus to "play" this dlc just as the chosen undead and eventually kill him. I know this is because devs where already making Bloodborne by that time, but I think a tie can still be made.

The third one is the presence of the moonlight greatsword. I know it's a cameo in almost every from game, but maybe there are ties between Seath (that looks kinda like Kos, a Great One), magic, crystals, the church and their experiments. Maybe Bloodborne's church is based upon the knowledge archived by Seath.

As a bonus, in Bloodborne there's no Sun, just the moon, which makes sense considering Gwynn is now dead.

Bear in mind with these taken as true, there's no contradiction with the whole dreams and nightmares story arcs. Dreams and nightmares could still happen, and Old Ones can still be ayylmaos and blood can substitute estus, because again, there's no flame anymore

Sorry, but interpretation should be left for the metastory, not the immediate narrative.

If Miyazaki can't coherently explain the story, then he's a hack. Silent Hill 1/2/3 all have explainable stories, and the only things left up to interpretation is the imagery in the environment, certain monsters and events as well as some of the characters and their true intentions.

Having to create interpretations to fill story gaps isn't very fun. Again, the Silent Hill games didn't spoon feed you, but provided you with everything to come up with definitive answers. Miyazaki should be able to do the same.

Heres an example. You are in a fishing village. You enter a giant cave, inside are literal mountains of fish. As you go deeper into the cavern you notice that there are things alongside the fish in the pens. Going deeper still you find your way through the caves closer to the ocean. The things are bigger here, swimming in the water and diving.

You realize the smaller things earlier were younger versions of these big things.

Do you understand what the fish were for?

You can parry them, though the timing is tricky because every attack they do baits it.
You can backstab them and many of their attacks leave them open for it.

Just delay your dodges because their attacks delay to bait early dodging and track to punish it. Also don't mash or panic dodge, because their combos delays the 2nd or 3rd attack specifically to catch that.

You just dodge to your left through her when she attacks and then just spam the one handed longsword attacks on her.
She's incredibly easy during stage 1-2.

She only has one attack that I'm not sure how you dodge and that is when she charges and then can dash behind her with a massive aoe attack.

My biggest issue with the Souls games is their insistence on shit platforming with shit platforming controls.

Every time you have to do some wierd jump to make sure you don't roll a certain way or have to drop down is a very specific manner I just feel like shutting the game off.

I've been using it on my ARC build since it actually has pretty decent ARC scaling, but man is the moveset whack. I wish tricked R1 was a quick strike instead of this laggy lunge attack because the damage isn't enough for that windup. And untricked, it's incredibly slow with not much more damage that tricked. It's a really cool weapon though.

It would be over, but people still use the blood despite knowing the risks because they believe the benefits are worth it. Beasthood isn't common, not every blood-user ends up as a beast. It only exploded into an epidemic in Yharnam because of the events of the game.

Anyone enjoying the Beast's Embrace rune? I've been an advocate of the Claws for a long time, I'm glad all my work building a "beast" character finally pays off.

I initially built him with some minor arcane stats to use the beast roar tool, now made moot by the new roar skill that costs stamina instead of bullets. However, that means I can spend those bullets using the hunter's bone quickstep for beastly speed.

I've been helping people fight Ludwig, easily maxing out my beasthood meter right before the transformation scene. It's just so damn fun, I'm having a hard time even caring enough about the rest of the DLC content.
