No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state.
The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective.
There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.

Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.

Modified versions of popular mods are being included in the stock game while the game engine is being upgraded to its latest version. The next major update (1.1) is supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better.
An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U. They seem to be rushing for an imminent deadline and they are also working on a version of the game that will be obsolete in a few weeks/months.

KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!".
The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics.
The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you shouldn't purchase the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

I guess it is time for a little recap, for those who forgot or didn't have a chance to see the first blogs. Text wall incoming.
Ok, everything started a while ago, I asked kspg to choose a cargo to start my train network and Alcohol was the winner.
The way this works in the industry mod I'm using (called FIRS) is that Alcohol is produced by a secondary industry, meaning that its production depends entirely on the delivery of cargo from a primary industry (which produces cargo by itself and doesn't need external resources).
So I couldn't have alcohol right away, but I had to focus on the raw materials needed for it to start being produced. (grain and fruit)
This is where I first started building: green circles represent clusters of farms where raw materials are produced, those materials are delivered to a brewery (light blue circle) and turned into alcohol.
Here comes the first problem: farms have an extremely low production rate, which means you need to have a lot of farms to get an acceptable raw material production. Unfortunately I ran out of farms before I could reach a good quota and alcohol could not be produced at a fast enough rate to justify a new, dedicated train line to deliver it to its final destination.Actually, nothing stops me from doing it anyway, but my autism prevents me from building something that will not be used for the most part
The solution to this problem comes from another resource, farm supplies. Supplies come in various kinds and they can be used to boost the production of a compatible primary industry up to 4x its normal rate.
New problem: farms supplies are not produced from within the alcohol industry chain, meaning my network Is not hooked up to an industry that already produces that resource.

The solution to that problem is to start servicing a new industry chain, where farm supplies are produced.
This is where the top part of the network came out.
to cut it short: yellow circles are coal and iron ore mines, their cargo is delivered to a factory (grey circle) that turns them into metal. Metal is delivered to another factory (red circle) where it is turned into both farm supplies and engineering supplies.
New problem: farm supplies production is a bit too low and definitely not regular enough to be transported yet.pink lines are farm supplies, but those are the only resources that don't have a train line yet
The solution comes from engineering supplies, produced at the same factory.
Turns out that coal and iron mines both accept engineering supplies as a boosting resource, so the next step was to bring those supplies (red lines) back to where the belong.
And then we come to where we are now, I just recently started delivering supplies to the mines and I am still waiting for their production to raise to the max.
This is a very important, yet kind of tedious process, because every time a primary industry boosts its production, you have to adjust the length and amount of trains that pick up their cargo, then go to the secondary industry (which in this case is the factory that produces metal) and tweak trains over there too to account for the increased amount of raw materials delivered and finished good produced.
Eventually, there will be enough metal produced to finally have an high enough amount of farm supplies to bring to those farms. Until then, I will just need to do a lot of tweaking and balancingand being autistic
that's it for now, there would be a bunch of other considerations to do about locomotives, wagons and speed limits, but I think I got you bored enough for the moment

Keeping always the right amount of trains lets you understand the situation with a glance.
There is a train waiting too much? Then it means something is wrong somewhere and that industry is not producing as it should be. A quick solution is to send that train to the depot or make it shorter so it doesn't block anyone while you look for the real cause of the problem.
Have a station with loads of waiting cargo? Just add a train and wait a bit to see if the cargo waiting starts to decrease.also autism is the reason

That is mostly a problem for stations where cargo is both loaded and unloaded.
Unless you make huge stations, having too many loading trains means they will block too many platforms for too much time, potentially blocking trains that want to unload at that station and causing a sort of gridlock where trains can't load because other trains can't unload.
I don't like huge stations and I try to keep the amount of trains to a minimum, I also like to concentrate a bunch of industries into one station, so traffic is very much a problem for me and your solution wouldn't work with the way my network is structured.

as far as I know, you either use waypoints or make it so a train line doesn't share any tracks with another and it uses its own platform.
there are probably mods that add new kind of orders so that you can split traffic between platforms, but I never looked into that so I don't know.
Anyway, here is an example of why I can't just spam trains.
This station has 4 platforms and is serviced by 25 trains (which will become more as the mines keep increasing production and the amount of metal increases aswell), there are trains unloading coal, unloading iron, loading metal and unloading engineering supplies.
Basically, the whole top part of this network relies on the fact that each end every train spends the least amount of time in this station. Loading trains are the bottleneck here and, since they are quite tightly packed, it is very easy to end up with all 4 platforms occupied by loading trains if I don't keep an eye on the production level and avoid any waiting.
if this station stops working, it will start a deadly chain reaction where raw materials can't be unloaded, metal can't be produced so the loading trains can leave and engineering supplies can't be delivered to the industries serviced by this station, decreasing production of metal even more.

Designed this ugly SSTO in less than 5 minutes and on the first flight achieved orbit.

I play windowed. Got used to it. Back in the old days (pre-0.18) the game crashed so much and it took a while to ctr+alt+del it to free my computer from the full screen that I got used to playing windowed. Graphics are shitty anyway so I don't even bother playing at 768p anymore. It Don't even turn on the fans on my 970 gtx.

Dampers usually have low speed settings, high speed settings and occasionally also very high speed (aka blow off) settings.
That screen you posted is pretty basic to be honest.
With high or very big speed settings you could have solved the bouncing you have after jumping, for example, Without interfering with the damping settings for when the car is still on the ground.

It's more about timing tour vehicles just right, have the perfect nr. Of vehicles vs capacity of each vehicle balance, plan track layouts so that each intersection is optimized for maximum traffic and minimum interruptions of the flow of trains, build massive networks where loads of trains going to different places share most of the tracks without causing huge traffic jams.
There is really little focus on the trains themselves, specs are usually just invented and made for a fun gameplay, not for realism.
The real focus is to build tracks, signals and intersections so everyone can go everywhere with no problems.

Curse is pretty infamous for a few reasons. Firstly is that they tend to offer an ad-based mod hosting platform that continuously hounds users to buy a premium account from them. Secondly, their site is a known vector for malware, thanks to their shoddy screening of mods and ads on their site. Another major issue is the way their launcher, essentially required to use their site in a way that isn't borderline retarded, runs like shit.
Add to that the fact that they are host to the same type of cancer that is rampant in the Minecraft community, and you end up with something pretty terrible.

No, it uses the projected grid method which is very clever and scalable. Basically it only renders what you can see, and it renders the close waves in high detail and lowers details as it gets farther away.
There doesn't seem to be a performance hit on my puny 560 Ti and that's with both my shader and squad's rendering on top of each other. Once I disable squad's ocean I wouldn't be surprised to actually see an increase in framerate.

I've read the book, but from what I saw of the pilot the series won't be as good. They're playing the whole 'American resistance' theme which was something that the story isn't really about.
The story was about the cold war between the superpowers and the characters coming to terms with the cultures of their occupiers or those they occupy.

American resistance is something that bores the shit out of me as a non-American.
