No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state.
The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective.
There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.

Modified versions of popular mods are being included in the stock game while the game engine is being upgraded to its latest version. The next major update (1.1) is supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better.
An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U. They seem to be rushing for an imminent deadline and they are also working on a version of the game that will be obsolete in a few weeks/months.

KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!".
The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics.
The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you shouldn't purchase the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

Nah that was me, I really shooped these pics though, that was back when I was looking for a way to add atmospheric scattering to KSP and found out about Proland. It looked complicated as fuck and I thought I wouldn't be able to do it so I just shooped the two together to get an idea of what it would look like. I think that's intentional since being able to go underwater is just a side effect rather than a goal of the buoyancy changes, so they let jet engines work since they didn't want to make proper water engines (which is a whole other deal entirely in a game about space).

Recipe of the day: Risotto with Gorgonzola and walnuts
For those who don't know, Gorgonzola is a typical Italian cheese which has a bunch of mold in it. This is the soft variant, meaning it is easy to spread and melt and has a sweet-ish flavour (as opposed to the usual strong and spicy of the other variants). I don't know what could be a comparable example for Americans, sorry.
So we are going to need some rice, butter, finely cut onions, Gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, some cheap white wine and some broth.

Here's the thing, though - Only Mexicans are getting any money here. The way Dutch Corporate Taxes work, Squad isn't paying any taxes on their earnings.
KSP is a project developed, published, and supported by Monkey Squad S.A de C.V. Deported bv owns Kerbal Space Program itself, but is (in theory, anyway,) only funding the development of KSP as a foreign-owned enterprise. Money made in that way isn't taxable in the Netherlands, which means that everything that is earned and funneled back up the chain to Deported bv gets there with only minor transfer fees exacted on it, if even that.
Meanwhile, Monkey Squad S.A de C.V. only has to pay taxes on their income made in Mexico, and perhaps a smaller amount sent to them by Deported bv, mostly to make the operation look nominally above-board in Mexico. Then, whoever controls the money that's been funneled to the Netherlands essentially has all of KSP's money at their fingertips.
Because Deported bv is run by a board of investors (legally, at least,) this means that one/all of these investors is then able to "invest" money back down the chain to pay employees at Monkey Squad S.A de C.V. while the rest of their money sits offshore accumulating nothing but sweet, sweet interest.

That's the worst part, they have this godawful unintuitive, poorly optimised 3D menu that only has the added capability of moving around and being able to recover/fly vehicles near the space center. The tradeoff for being able to do that is confusing new players and giving them a potentially poor impression of the game (one that its poorly designed, and well, it is).

This is the kind of shit that causes modders to say "fuck you" and go make their own site. Already happened with Curse+KerbalStuff. People used the old forums for "hosting" mods and finding mods because it was convenient, for users it still (probably) is, but for modders themselves its now become a pain to do even simple things (like preview posts/edits or make tables).
Just brings me back to wondering if any of the forum team spent any time at all considering how people actually use the forum, if those thoughts were brought up to anyone, and if they were taken into consideration or were just thrown in the trash by higher ups because reasons.

In that screen the water isn't writing to the depth buffer (currently working on solving this analyrically in the postprocessing shader instead of depending on the depth buffer for oceans) so what you're seeing up top is postprocessing applied to the ocean floor so it looks off. It depends on what mod. If you're installing something that fucks with career mode, missions, contracts etc. then you may need a new save. If you're adding graphical or sound effects, you generally don't have to give a fuck about saves. You can add and remove them whenever. Make backups to be safe.

This is my first mod, it started out of my own frustration with the game's graphics when I was trying to enjoy it.

A trip is a very useful tool, but the uses it has are very, very limited; anything beyond that and you just look like a douchebag who thinks his opinion is more important than others.
The usefulness of a trip varies with each board and with each thread within a board. In a video game general a trip is usually reserved for notable people somehow involved in the game (modders, developers, etc), they might share important information and a signature makes everyone's life easier when you need to verify if said info comes from a good source or is just bullshit.
You basically came here and put your trip on just to say "yo, that was me who made Max go away, you can thank me later". Which is the exact opposite of how to correctly use a trip code. Furthermore, you went on and replied to people attacking you while still using your trip, which makes it even worse.
People get anal at you because you are misusing an important tool. You obviously cause a small shitstorm every time you do that and ruin the thread with useless drama. This is the reason why on so many other boards everyone hates tripfags, there are so many of them and they get so annoying that people lose patience.
You are probably not officially breaking any rule, but you are lowering the quality of the thread and are degrading everyone else who legitimately need a tripcode.
Having an opinion does not warrant a trip, neither does having some screenshots, let alone bragging.
