The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective.

An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U. They seem to be rushing for an imminent deadline and they are also working on a version of the game that will be obsolete in a few weeks/months.

The major flaw in KSP is that it has no endcontent at all.

You learn how orbits work, and if you did you can do anything in the game. There is nothing more.

And there was added nothing more over the last two year. Nothing that was build in did somehow enrich the gameplay. They did build in a mode where you have tons of restrictions. Some even fall for it and love how you can unlock stuff because it gives you the illusion that you play for something more than the mediocre gameplay. By the way, that's something most FPS do nowadays.

And as I can see you are still fairly new to the game, that's totally okay. When I first played it I though KSP was awesome. But soon enough I realised there is nothing more to the game. Enjoy the game while you still can, but don't expect us to agree with your opinion. We've been there, we've done that.

The concept is good. But the implementation is horrible.

All the engines and parts are equally balanced. You don't get better engines when you upgrade anything in the tech tree, you just get a greater variety to chose from. And while some are clearly better at some things all in all they are all on the same tech level.

If they really wanted to make career interesting they'd have to do more than just place existing parts behind time walls.
You should start with crappy engines, and while time passes you can slowly make the engines better or even specialise them. Same with all the other parts. Make the early pods have low crash and heat resistance and while you progress the game you can improve them. Create that 1950 feeling of space travel where everything is kind of wonky and let the player experience the cange that comes with better parts.

But all of that would have required more work than they wanted to put into so they just decided: well, fuck it, just make people grind. Career could have become something great, but instead they fucked it up.

And before you come with my own argument

There are ways of creating an upgrade system into the game without making it feel like you need to kills 10 more boars to get an level up. The above way would be an easy example. But Career also needs a redesign on how you get Science. Just rightlicking on parts is pretty idiotic.

They added in some sorting options and filters (by fuel type, bulkhead size, that kind of thing), but it's still not great. There are some changes due on that front for the next release however. They've had to reimplement everything for the new Unity 5 GUI, so they've done some streamlining. Also they've hired a lot of modders recently, so many long-time bugbears are being taken care of as time goes on.

From the dev notes it sounds like they're tearing everything down just to build it up again the same, no user experience lessons learned. Their problem is that GUI tends to be a bit part of the uniquely identifying branding for a game. The Squad marketers are likely terrified of changing it.

A large combustion chamber and bell have an injector plate at the top, through which RP-1 fuel and LOX are injected at high pressure. Above the injector is the LOX dome which also transmits the force of the thrust from the engine to the rocket's structure. A single-shaft turbopump is mounted beside the combustion chamber. The turbine is at the bottom and is driven by the exhaust gas from burning RP-1 and LOX in a fuel-rich mixture in a gas generator. After powering the turbine, the exhaust gas passes through a heat exchanger, then to a wrap-around exhaust manifold which feeds it into the periphery of the engine bell. The final task for these hot gases is to cool and protect the nozzle extension from the far hotter exhaust of the main engine itself. Above the turbine, on the same shaft, is the fuel pump with two inlets from the fuel tank and two outlets going, via shut-off valves, to the injector plate. A line from one of these 'feeds' supplies the gas generator with fuel. Fuel is also used within the engine as a lubricant and as a hydraulic working fluid, though before launch, RJ-1 ramjet fuel is supplied from the ground for this purpose. At the top of the turbopump shaft is the LOX pump with a single, large inlet in-line with the turboshaft axis. This pump also has two outlet lines, with valves, to feed the injector plate. One line also supplies LOX to the gas generator. The interior lining of the combustion chamber and engine bell consists of a myriad of pipework through which a large portion of the fuel supply is fed. This cools the chamber and bell structure while also pre-warming the fuel. Lastly, an igniter, containing a cartridge of hypergolic fluid with burst diaphragms at either end, is in the high pressure fuel circuit and has its own inject point in the combustion chamber. This fluid is triethylboron with 10-15% triethylaluminium

Rising combustion-induced pressure on the injector plate actuates the ignition monitor valve, directing hydraulic fluid to open the main fuel valves. These are the valves in the fuel lines between the turbopump and the injector plate. Pic related shows how the thrust built up in each engine. It takes two seconds for full performance to be attained on all engines once the first has begun increasing. The engines are started in a staggered 1-2-2 sequence so that the rocket's structure would be spared a single large load increase, with the center engine being the first to start. The graphs for the four outboard engines show a distinct hiccup in their rate of increase as they reach about three-quarters of full thrust. This is due to helium from the pogo suppression system being ingested by the engines. The center engine had had its system disabled before the flight.
