It's her last ditch effort to convince the Brits to help her country from the inevitable invasion. During that very conversation they get word Germania starts their invasion and then some soldiers bust in and capture her.

The first episode had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The Germs were driving me nuts. Glad to see some of them eat it near the end. I want to see the guy from the train eat it too, but I think he'll be one of the long term enemies. . I saw the scar after the shower, and was wondering about it. The flashback seemed to be suggestive, and next episode it looks like we'll get more details. Hopefully there is lots of the Witch and the Princess kicking ass in the next and future episodes.

The show is happening in 1940 and the SAS Regiment was created in 1941.

After seeing that blonde guy in this episode I'm kinda relieved. I thought maybe this guy had some background with Fine or maybe even a crush. However he's just an avatar character for the soldiers. He's also older and not her age like I assumed.

The only other relevant male character in that regard is the nazi guy who follows the glasses villain but it seems like they won't meet soon enough to develop anything. Fine and Izetta seem really fixated on each other to shove somebody between them now anyway.
