They have a future unlike Marvel comics. Marvel sales the lowest they've been since the 90s. No one wants their shoehorned diversity and SJW pandering. They don't want their beloved characters killed off for women and blacks to take their place.
DC realized that and rebooted again, Marvel will in the next few years.

2 kinds of people are dumb enough to still read comics, kids, and they aren't super into politics and bullshit, and many of them are white. And fanboys who read because they liked x character and don't want them replaced for diversity.

If they were smart, and they obviously aren't rather than replacing a character and hoping the surgically removed the love and fanbase to a new gender/race, they'd just make a new character, and give them new and interesting storylines.

He seems to have a personality disorder and has no way to make a living now that he isn't Speilberg's precocious 10 year old in movies.

Bottom line, he grew up ugly and isn't smart enough to just chalk it up and go to University like so many child stars before him.

There's no way he'll ever be a romantic or action lead in a studio movie ever again. The best he can hope for is self financed ego-trips like American Honey.

Equilibrium has plenty of what you mentioned. But frankly if you already read 1984, the movie feels a bit too ham-fisted and boring (except for the action scenes).

The Matrix movies might count as a sci-fi/futuristic version of it as well.

The book is shit tier, as is all King. The movie is great for taking a lame book and subverting/disregarding it.

the soulsborne games are so uniquely well suited to the video game medium that it's hard to imagine how you would adapt them to film

it's like watchmen. watchmen is a great example of the unique things comics can do, and is immensely difficult to translate to screen. so while the movie ended up pretty good, it was sort of a miracle. i'd love to see a soulsborne movie, but it would be hard to do properly.
