Yes. Though how's the jumper plate attached? might be better to use two 1x1 tile in its place, one in trans orange or red.

Also started working on this speeder tonight based on a trike body. Still a lot I don't like about it, but maybe if I can scrounge up enough pieces I can make it look nice.

However...i thought they just going to ship me "New" Sir Fangar's head. Not literally new-sealed one. I guess i didnt pay attention to description, but this head is sealed. And i kind of dont want to take it out now.
Sir fangar is quite rare so i might use the one i already have (i ordered just head because i wanted to make random mocs of literal saber toothed cat, not antropomorphic)

Is Lego Dimensions worth it?
>>
>>6234460
Depends on what you're after.

If you only want the minifigs, they're not worth it for the full price unless you really want something. If you're actually going to play the game, then they may be worth it for the full price. The gameplay itself is the same Lego game formula.

>>6234460
This >>6234462

Also by now most figures from wave 1 are on clearance. If you are fine with always being behind, then buy your figures a year after their release. Just be careful not to miss any.

But even on clearance, if you're not going to play the game it's quite pricey. The game is very enjoyable though

>Do you have names or backstories for these cool cats?

Why yes I do. Not for all of them but I have backstories and names to my favorites. Here they are from left to right.

>Seppi Rodriguez, a veteran who started his racing career at the age of 17. He has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice and the 12 Hours of Sebring once. He has won many races on both 2 and 4 wheels and is still adding more under his belt. But recently he is looking to redeem himself after an accident caused by his arch-nemesis, Edgy Bastard, nearly killed him and lost him the world championship. He now races for the newly founded team BRM (Brick Racing Motors) that has won races in open wheel racing, but has yet to prove themselves in the sports car racing world.

>Edgy Bastard, a man who tries to win at all possible costs. He has an extreme lack of regard to the safety of his fellow racers and spectators alike. He has directly caused the deaths of 13 race drivers throughout his career. He is so crazy that he has portraits of all of the racers he has killed hanging up as trophies in his secluded home in the desert. His fans consist of metalheads and edgy 12 year olds.

>Sir Jackie Clark, a very succesful British racer who is very polite both on and off the track. He has many 2nd places under his belt due to how polite he is, it is why his racing number is 2. He is a vocal advocate for racing safety and has a strong dislike for Edgy Bastard due to his wreckless attitude. His hobbies include drinking tea during pitstops and no brushing his teeth.

Part 2

>Skip O'Malley, this proudly Irish-American racer is so patriotic, that he painted his car in the colors of the American flag. An incredibly talented driver who dedicates each win to his country. There is a rumor that his entire diet consists of burgers and alcohol.

>Sally Mouton, the sole female driver in the racing world. Not much is known about her past other than her father being a Blacktron admiral who is much feared throughout the galaxy. It is why she has painted her car in the colors of Blacktronian spacecraft.

>Rex Parsons, an up and coming young rookie who has taken a strong liking to reggae music. It is why his car is in Rastafarian colors. You can tell it's him coming close to you in a race as he plays Bob Marley and Lee Perry loudly through the speakers of his race car.

That's about all I have so far. I will try to come up with more stories for the remaining racers.

Yeah, yeah, okay. But my point is that it does happen, and it can be annoyingly painful, made worse because you're not expecting something with hard edges (and possibly points) in your soft plushy carpet.

>made worse because you're not expecting something with hard edges (and possibly points) in your soft plushy carpet

I had one of those iconic road+city carpets

Sometimes coloured Lego blocks blend in to the carpet and after you finish cookies and a nice glass of milk, a red 2x4 on top of the hospital might be overlooked by a 6 year-old

Something about early childhood memories defining the individual

Hey /lg/
Two questions. One. Do all the instruction books for the same set have the same seven digit number on the back?
Two, does anyone have the seven digit code for part ordering from 76054 Harvest of fear? I accidentally trashed the instructions with the box.

For certain parts, ones you cannot find in the buy replacement parts section:

https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/replacementparts/sale

DO require a unique numeric sequence on the back of instruction booklets which serves as proof of purchase. I've had to do this a few times, not just for missing pieces but I've had a pieces with fucked up facial printing where I've sent in a request for a replacement.

Lego is actually pretty nice about this since they do free shipping of the parts once they verify your code.
>>
>>6235030
IIRC the code is unique to batches so that they can see where in the production the mistake was made.
I'd try and contact them and say you lost your instruction book instead
>>
>>6234562
love it
>>
>>6235042
Since it's used as a proof of purchase I'd say it's unique to each set, however they can still no doubt track this unique number to batches. This would stop people from just using a batch number to claim they have broken or missing parts for sets they never bought. And it may not just be the batch that's screwed up. Shit can happen in the factory. Parts can get stuck and not sort properly, printing can be misaligned, bricks can be broken.

Still I'm hardly an expert so it's better to ask their customer service.
>>
>>6235030
I ordered replacement parts quite a few times from sets that I didn't own and used the number from the downloadable instructions from Lego.com. Worked every time.
>>
>>6235057
Really? Seems like a horrible system then, at least for them. If you abuse it do they have some way to blacklist you?

Took a break from building to conduct some very successful heresy. Finally have four green tie torsos to go with my four blue tie ones.

I figured out a new technique for stripping prints while doing these. I've noticed that when the print you're removing is very close to the print you've got covered, you can inadvertently form a groove along the edge of the tape from rubbing it back and forth. Once I get the bulk of the print removed with the Brasso method, I wipe it off and use an eraser to remove the last little bits. It works really well and doesn't abrade the surface enough to leave a groove from sliding back and forth along the tape.

Only released in a single large Town Junior set.

finished the mustang. the only stickers left are the 5.0 and GT wich should be prints. i would have liked a blue oval and i still have the horse silhouette.

the roof was a white sticker on a 2x4 blue tile, it's three bricks now, it's a minor thing but i'm quite pleased with it, the taillights too.

tl;dr
bought shit set, had fun mocing it

So I'm a college poorfag, but I really, REALLY want to get a set that's more than $200 for the first time.

Should I get the Silent Mary this friday, or the Disney Castle? Both are Disney so the resale should be ridiculous in a few years (if we don't all die in a nuclear holocaust) but I don't know if the castle is worth an extra $150

Eh, I would think the resale on the Castle is always gonna be higher than the Silent Mary's. Pair-o-Zombie Sharks and some killer minifigures aside, you really don't get a lot for your $200 with the SM.

YMMV.

Did my best, a few parts aren't in LDD, but they're all from one of the speed champions sets.
Just the brick with holes thing you attach the wheels to, those are made green out of regular parts.
The windshield and tires and wheels are also not in the system, also from speed champions.

For some reason the model glitched out when I tried to add more pieces but they're built on the side, all you have to do is stick them on top.

He's wearing his old dancing outfit. His breathing apparatus and helmet are from his dayjob as a streetcleaner. He keeps them on for safety and protection against body-odor.

The girl in the white tutu is the little sister of the pilot with the opaque visor and sick flame decals. She's really good at fixing up mechanical equipment. I sort them by themes, mostly, especially using the CMFs to build historical collections. Roman soldiers, Native Americans, islanders with giant scary masks, English Bobbies, etc.

I've also recently started some holiday theme bags with Christmas, Halloween, and with the edition of March Harriet I'm building up a bunny harem (apparently) for the CMF bunny suit guy. Actually the guys with suits is one of my favorite themes now. Hotdogs, bananas, gorillas, unicorns, and some some cornholes. And speaking of the next line I'm looking to create a pulp space line between the rocket boy, Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers guy, and the already released Ming the Merciless guy. It's a small start but one I'm excited about. I've always loved the pulp genre.

The one thing I couldn't imagine is dissembling them all, though I do have a bag with various space legs, torsos, heads, hairs and accessories. Mostly stuff I've bought individually and keep in reserve if I ever want to change up existing figs. But all of these parts fit in one baggy since they're all from parts I've bought individually from Bricklink or Bricks and Pieces.

I've got a bunch of boxes for complete figures. One for sci-fi and city (that's nearly overflowing) two full boxes for castle and fantasy, and then some smaller boxes for some other random figures. That's excluding the ones on display or on my table.
I need to organise my parts box though, at the moment it has no organisation and is a hell to dig through.

I love these little army guys, especially after I've replaced the hands and heads with something a little less green.

I've got to wonder, though. Lego has police and crooks, space police and space pirates, regular pirates and troopers, super spies and villains, but to my knowledge they've never done any army men outside of licensing. Is there any reason? I mean there's plenty of guns in the other stuff, so presumably that isn't it.
>>
>>6236453
Lego wants to stay away from modern warfare and conflicts.
>>
>>6236453
Originally lego was very pacifist (that's why green wasn't on the early colour palette, so kids couldn't build tanks). Over the years that's loosened and loosened, but even then they steer clear of realistic modern style guns. Closest it's ever brushed was Indianna Jones I believe.
>>
>>6236453
They'd probably count as "realistic modern warfare" or something along these lines, unlike historical themes or fantasy/sci-fi. A few things they made went against this rule, mostly Indiana Jones sets and the figs you brought up, though; also, it seemingly was more extensive in the past because there was a scrapped mobster/prohibition era USA theme which supposedly was too risky for late 80s/early 90s Lego.
>>
>>6236453

Lego's got a weird and inconsistent approach to violence, for example the first castle set was yellow so kids couldn't build a tank or something out of it, there was a policy of no military and guns ever, but swords and pikes are all nice and cuddly and civilized. Licensed stuff like Star Wars and the green army men are fine, but City police didn't get a gun until some minifig pack last year.

>>6236461
>>6236462
>>6236463
I can accept that, although honestly modern conflicts seems a bit silly when they glorify cops and robbers, admittedly far more likely to affect children than a foreign army showing up - at least in most parts of the world.

That said, we're far enough away from these classic army guys that I don't, at least personally, think it counts as modern warfare. I'd have loved it if Alien Conquest was a love letter to classic 50s scifi with soldiers versus flying saucers and even a Gort style robot thrown in for good measure.

Ah what the hell, it's all Legoland, baby. If they don't sell it just build it yourself, right?

>>

I know that, I was just wondering why Lego never explored that section of the market when they already had the molds (albeit without all the accurate weaponry). I think people answered why well enough, and I can accept that, though I do wonder how much temporal separation would be required before it might be acceptable. Considering it sounds like it's tradition stopping them I'd say it's not just a matter of time.

I don't snap arms and hands off willy-nilly. I just keep the loose arms sorted in case I'm making a minifig and need hands or arms in a certain color. This way I'm not digging around in a big bin for a single black arm; I can just grab the arms and quickly find the color I want.

>I can accept that, although honestly modern conflicts seems a bit silly when they glorify cops and robbers, admittedly far more likely to affect children than a foreign army showing up - at least in most parts of the world.
"Cops and robbers" aren't going to draw as much social ire as "you presented this nation's army as the protagonist, when our culture depicts this nation's army as the antagonist", because dank /pol/tard memes aside, there's no nation of robbers to get offended at their fictionalized treatment at the clawed hands of Lego Police State.

>b-b-but muh Indiana Jones
Lego can sidestep this with licensed sets because the content is based on a movie, and if you have a problem with the way they were presented in the movie, take it up with the film company.
>>
>>6236518
what do you mean? I've got some brickarms guns but don't know much about the company.
>>
>>6236527
Oh ok, I've been following him for quite a while. Basically he's fond of showing prototypes (that look very similar to the end product) and not releasing them for years on end. However he'll sometimes pop the 'prototype' into a weapon pack or exclusive figure. I think it's kind of scummy.
He also seems to keep things like trans-coloured weapons as exclusives. The colour range for brickarms is pretty bad (can't even buy a magnum in silver).
I also think a lot of the stuff is overpriced, especially if it involves printing or two colours. Don't get me wrong though, the actual stuff is really good.
>>
>>6236521
The far greater problem with Indiana Jones was avoiding anything that hinted at Nazis in the Nazi figs they were making. And people always harp on Indiana Jones but the figs posted above were toy soldiers from Toy Story. Man of Steel also gave us the dude from SVU with a military jeep. Batman The Dark Knight gave us the military versions of the tumblr, albeit that's still a fantasy vehicle. We've had more Totally-Not-Nazies with Red Skull.

The whole "licensing" argument is sidestepping...a prohibition they put on themselves. That's it. Oh sure parents groups are already complaining that minifig faces are too angry these days, but Lego as many other toy companies are well aware that parents groups will always find something to bitch about. That's why they were invented.

I don't know how actually verboten talking about third party mixing is and what's just people spazzing. I don't really buy much that isn't Lego but I do have a small collection of megabloks Halo guns that I occasionally enjoy mixing in. The aesthetic really isn't right and most guns don't really fit Lego hands too well, but they can be kind of fun and don't really look too bad when they have multiple colors (though again doesn't quite match the Lego aesthetic). Oh and the only reason I ever had to buy non-Transformers kre-o was some of the guns were nice. Especially the horribly stupid shit in pic related as the source. I use those kinds of pistols with some (otherwise pure Lego) Resident Evil figs I built, and also the old pulp character The Shadow. The Lego pistols such as in the Red Hood set/CMF just don't look right.

Theres bootleg, stuff aimed to leech on TLG's success. (LELE movie etc.)

There's other brands such as megabloks that are sort of competing/bringing alternates to TLG's toys.

And there's 3rd party accesory vendors that aim to add to the lego experience and compliment it (brickwarriors, brickarms & brickfroge etc.).

Why are you talking about all of these as if they're all the same?

Technically that was their version of microfigs in their own blindbags, two to a pack. Even for the guns I only bought the damn things on clearance.

The pistols and SMGs weren't bad. The shotguns and rifles I never really liked. Later GI Joe lines may have had better gear but I never really bothered with the Joe stuff and only a few drugstores in my area bother to carry it anymore. Probably the same stuff they had years ago which they still aren't able to sell!

>>6236651

Yes, absolutely. Almost all of the heresy used there could have been prevented via basic building techniques; and also I detest damaging parts. If I obtain enough l-gray bricks, I will just use SNOT and whatever

Speaking of that, I remember a group of muslims trying to sue Lego because of the Jabba's palace set, since it looked like a mosque and had guns inside. They didn't try to sue Disney though (or whoever held the rights at that point)
>>
>>6236614
I like the megagun quite a lot. I mostly like his swords, I think they really fit in with the rest of the lego medieval weapons.

>>
>>6236668
It can be useful but kre-o was for my experience generally poor quality. I've never had them break my pieces, rather they tend to break or are very lose. Color is fairly poor. I mostly have Transformers figs I occasional put into my Lego scenes. Larger builds I leave in their own bins and don't mix the bricks, just some accessories.
