Any dimensions sets worth getting? I am starting over my collection today (long story) and im kinda curious if they have any good parts in them, also don't they have those weird fuckin' metal bits inside the pieces so the system registers what you build or something?

If you're in the US, you can find several of dollar store chains with fun packs. Around California 99 cents only has then for $1.00. You can also check https://www.fivebelow.com/ to get them for $5.00. You can't go wrong with any of them for those prices.

They have NFC chips in the toy tag/base piece. That's how the game reads the figures and builds.
>>
>>6227919
So the bricks and characters are still normal only the base plate things have NFC chips? Nice.
>>
>>6227927
Yes. The down side is the box has no instructions for the builds. You need to use the game or go to the Lego website to get directions.

Brickarms specalizes in mostly firearms, not fantasy and medieval armor.

Thanks! I'm going to have to keep looking. $33 is a bit steep. I'm going to need about 5-6 of these to get started. Currently storing in about 24-30 18qt Sterlite containers with covers. Maybe I'll just build a shelf unit for them and then pick up 2 of these for smaller parts.

>How does everyone else store their Lego??? How do you have it all sorted?

Just added a fourth floor to my drawers last week. I love these Sterilite modular dressers.

I keep all my pieces in Ziploc bags sorted by type and subtype for the most part. 1x1, 1x2, and 1x3 tiles are in one bag, 1x4+ tiles are in another bag, 2xN tiles are in a third bag, grills in a bag, cheese slopes in a bag, lattice fences in a bag, rail fences in a bag, tiles 1x2 modified with ridge in a bag, all inside a larger bag.

It works for me.
>>
>>6231616
I tend to keep the figs in individual ziplocks by theme. If there are enough subdivisions within a theme, for instance I individual bags for police, fire, and criminals, and each of these in a larger ziploc. I've actually acquired a ton of bags these days mostly thanks to CMFs so I have mythological characters, historical figs; hell, I've even started a Halloween bag combining them with Monster Fighters and Scooby-Doo.

Got to say, though, I never really separate my bricks very well. Laziness? Poor organizational skills? Maybe. Honestly, I focus more on the figs. Still it does suck having a population with very little for them to actually populate.

I can't be alone in thinking the lego batman movie wasn't very good
I'm not a batfag, but it was the most "normie" batman references there are
>condiment king, isn't he silly?
Despite the fact that he was created as comic relief
also so many fucking jokes riffing on the adam west show, which, besides being a tired joke to being with, was also a show designed to be silly,so saying it was silly isn't very funny.
Also lets not mention the horrid "real" effects. I know the idea was that they were going to have real objects interacting with lego, but the effects were just plain bad and didn't look real. There was a scene of batman sitting alone in a little boat and the ripples just looked like student cg
Also Batman and robin random dance scene for the kids done without any sense of irony that they were riffing on such tropes just moments before.
Also generally bad pacing and just plain not very well told story. (even though it had a good premise)
As someone who thinks that the Lego movie was one of the best animated films ever (even past my obvious lego bias) the whole movie was just so much mediocrity
>>
>>6231713

>>6231469

>>

i really enjoyed the movie for its humor. infact i was having a good time with the timing and cute details that it distracted me from a potentially flawed story.

your post certainly didnt make me go "Aw yeah the movie did suck", but it does make me want to go re-watch it with a more critical eye. i went in knowing id be able to cut back and laugh like i did the first one so i didnt pay that much attention to detail.
>>
>>6231713
>also so many fucking jokes riffing on the adam west show, which, besides being a tired joke to being with, was also a show designed to be silly,so saying it was silly isn't very funny.
The point, I thought, was to highlight Batman isn't always GRIMDARK DEAD PARENTS MURDERPOCALYPSE, that there's room for some jokes in a batman (/dc) movie, so the BvS movie was ridiculous because Batman can and has in fact been silly. I feel like that was the point. It also ties into Alfred's "I'm tired of seeing you brood all the time" and then listing all the recent movies.

I liked it better than the first movie strangely enough, and I don't even care about Batman that much. The fact that i knew better what to expect might have had something to do with it. Both movies had a lot of jokes that fell relatively flat for me, but it gave me more laughs the TLM. I liked how there was so much going on at all times that there was always something that was fun to watch.

Great drawings guys!
saved all!

I see people are still responding to my old post (>>6231299 →) but also that wasn't drawn by me.
When I said I couldn't draw and that I only drew actual LEGO in the past i meant... well, things like pic related. (that's actually been drawn by me)

Hope you guys enjoy it.
now please stop saying I have even the smallest ability to draw. it's insulting to anons that can actually draw.

Clock King's head is the same as the CMF gingerbread man's, Centurion Batman has the same helmet as CMF spartan and the same shield as CMF legionaire. Since the CMF female cook has a hat with hair underneath the mystery cook Joker doesn't technically have any new molds either.

New molds - basically never. New, sometimes unique colors of existing parts - very often, we just got a red Batman cowl in a polybag.

Appears genuine Lego. Has a number printed on the body (upper stomach at the front) and a copyright symbol on the bottom.

Head is ratcheted twice (once at full open, once at closed). Can fit a figure inside full and close (though you may need to rotate arms forward)

Oh no! It's bootlego Darth Maul with robot chicken legs! Plus he came with a lightsaber and a... darksaber?

The connections are really tight. Stress marks appeared right away when I plugged in the hips, and had a heck of a time getting them back out. The arms went in okay but they don't turn easily.

Now I have someone to hang out with Bootleg Revanon.

Now back to your regularly scheduled cheeky-moc discussion.

Trans-Neon Orange, Trans-Neon Green, and Trans-Medium Blue are the big three. Several other colors react to UV lights in some degree, and many parts that you wouldn't think are reactive actually are. Here are some available pieces that are known to be UV reactive:

01:
Flowers are trans-medium blue 4728
Popsicle is tran-med blue 30222

02:
Clikits008: Trans-Neon Yellow Clikits Bead, Ring Thick Small Double with 2 Pins (AKA RADIOACTIVE CARTOON MEAT)
Clikits004: Trans-Neon Yellow Clikits Icon, Flower 10 Petals 2 x 2 Small with Pin
Clikits020: Trans-Neon Yellow
Clikits Icon, Flower 10 Petals 2 x 2 Large with Pin

03:
trans-neon green 4589 Cone 1 x 1 without Top Groove (top) glows the bright greenish-teal like most trans-neon green pieces
Trans-neon green 4589b Cone 1 x 1 with Top Groove glows with a less intense and obviously more green light.
Trans-neon green 10178 and 10178pb02 Rock 1 x 2 Crystal Stepped
Trans-neon orange transparent chainsaw
Trans-neon green stud
Trans-neon orange stud
Trans-neon green 58176 Light Cover with Internal Bar / Bionicle Barraki Eye
Trans-neon orange flames, both with and without side pins
Trans-neon orange 64647 Minifig, Plume Feather Triple Compact / Flame / Water

04:
Trans-neon green 98348 Minifig, Weapon Whip Bent with Snake Head / Dildo and Pin Hole
Trans-neon green and trans-bright green 30374 Bar 4L (Lightsaber Blade / Wand)

(cont.)

If you want to take pictures of Legos in blacklight conditions, I made this guide and can offer some Photoshop advice if you want.

05:
32271: Trans-Neon Green Technic Liftarm 1 x 9 Bent (7 - 3) Thick
32271: Trans-Neon Orange Technic Liftarm 1 x 9 Bent (7 - 3) Thick

06:
Trans-neon orange 4218 Garage Roller Door Section without Handle
Trans-neon orange 6124 Minifig, Utensil Magic Wand
Trans-neon orange 6120 Minifig, Utensil Ski with Hinge
Yellow 2496 Wheel Skateboard / Trolley
Trans-neon orange x42 Minifig, Visor with Horizontal Slit and Antenna
Trans-neon green 2447 Minifig, Visor Standard
Trans-neon green 2412 Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille with Bottom Groove / Lip
The opaque yellow trolley wheels don't exactly "glow" like the trans pieces, but they are obviously somewhat reactive.

07:
From top left:
Red CMF S5 Royal Guard x2
Red CMF S5 Woodsman x2
Red CMF S11 Mountain Climber
Red torso with red arms
Red S13 Female Samurai
Dark red S14 Zombie Pirate
Red S2 Lifeguard
Red CMF S5 Woodsman
Red S2 Lifeguard

Arms may not be originals

08:
From top left:

Non-reactive red 3678a Slope 65 2 x 2 x 2 Smooth without Bottom Tube
CMF S4 Kimono Girl red 3678b Slope 65 2 x 2 x 2 Smooth with Bottom Tube
CMF S14 Specter Trans-clear 19859pb03 Lower Body, Ghost with Marbled Dark Bluish Gray Pattern
CMF S14 Banshee 19859pb02 Trans-clear Lower Body, Ghost with Marbled Sand Green Pattern
Red 41879 Legs short
CMF Zombie pirate legs
You can't really tell in this picture but the dark red parts of the zombie legs react the same as the torso.

Kids today, Jesus. Strange predates the Joker as a nemesis (he only beat the Joker by a little more than a month) and was one of the earliest surviving villains after Batman got over his initial string of murder-the-villain plots they ripped from the likes of The Shadow, sometimes with the entire plot of the relevant pulp story.

Forgot about Trans-Bright Green, which should be included in the Big Three and make them the Big Four.

Obviously glow-in-the-dark pieces react; shooting them with a UV light for a few seconds charges them right up to 100%.
>>
>>6232871
Extreme neophyte question, I know the UV used is hardly akin to sunlight, but are there any long term exposure issues with glow-in-the-dark pieces?
>>
>>6232880
I've read that UV bulbs probably won't hurt regular pieces, but I can't say whether or not their use would have any effect on the lifespan or brightness of GITD pieces. Maybe somebody else here can explain what happens.

Yeah, blacklights emit UV-A light so extremely low intensity, unlike sunlight.

Sad to say I've had some glow in the dark figs straight out of the box that would barely hold a "charge" anyway. The Monster Fighters mummy, I believe. The skeletal horse was fine. Might be because of how the mummy was made, though.

Thing is, the Temple of Airjitzu is just a great set, Ninjago or not. It's a beautiful building scenery with a dozen of good minifigures. It's the only Ninjago set I own, but I've been looking for other sets that have a good selection of minifigures, but no figures that I already have, and no elements that would clash with the style of the Temple. It's a tall order, but the accessory pack fits the bill quite well.
>>
>>6233358
The only people who call Ninjago shitty are these who didn't realize yet the rubber dragon heads and pointless expensive spinners are a thing of the past, compared to Chima or even NK it has a plenty of good sets in each wave, either just because the models are solid (most of the recent dragons and mechs, the huge temple) or because the parts and figs are nifty.

I got some imported German klocki this morning. Among the pieces were a pair of trans-neon orange 4L lightsaber bars. I noticed right away that one of them had a rounded tip instead of a squared-off tip, but then I realized what was actually going on.

Define future. It will obviously not be available forever. I imagine this won't last on shelves for too long, since it's tied to a movie that will only be relevant for a short time

In an online store where i buy stuff, sets sit for a very long time around 1.5 year.

I obviously meant unabtainable because it will be very expensive collector's item. Like one of those modulars and etc.

Do you think Lego will ever release K-2SO in another set let alone a cheap set, I can't imagine another set to put him in (should have been in battle on Scariff), I want him but not $10 want him
>>
>>6233756
You have no idea how tempted I am to get Krennic's shuttle, because it's 30% off here, but I only really want the death troopers and meme machine.

But we just have to wait and see if we even get any more R1 sets. I mean, how many years has it been since we got Ep. 2 set? [toyspoiler]Not that I honestly care, Attack of Clones is my least favourite SW movie[/toyspoiler]
>>
>>6233759
I feel you there, I don't like the ship at all but the troopers and Kaytoo are terribly tempting
>>
>>6233759
To be fair we're not getting ep II sets mostly because of Clone Wars (the only things I can think of that would work as a set and aren't also in CW are the arena beats and remake of that ship with the sand purple female bounty hunter), it'll probably be different with the spinoff movies and it's safe to expect another set every year or two from each of these

I think the problem with speed champions, beyond the appalling amount of stickers, is they are to slab sided. gave the sls some curves on the side, I think it looks better. Stil disappointed in the theme though, but I'll prob get the mustang, mostly for the 5.0 sticker

Giving constructive criticism is alright. But how he constructed his post it reads poorly. Instead of "if you want to be more true to the original concept do x & y" he makes it sound like he has the final say on how to represent the character over the original creator. ("She [IS] too mature looking" and "ponytail NEEDS to be more pointing upwards and darker") That's probably what he meant with give him a break. The points he mentioned for making the character read better or look like the character more are totally valid still.

That light blue and dark bley go really well together.
>>
>>6233846
True. The best is a nice balance of the two to give context to eachother for me, but it's definately easy to build a relatively smaller partscount car and put it on a shelf as it's own thing in a vacuum as a display. Once you have one or two houses and a giant fleet of streetcleaners and cops it starts to look weird. The fact that you can easily vroom around cars is bonus too, but personally i loved the shit out of dollhouses too.

Also retard yuropoor question:
What do english mean with wheels specifically? I always thougth it meant the tires and rims as a whole. But sometimes people use it just for rims apparently?

Yeah, but as I commented on JANG's video, they at least shaved two dollars off the original Army Builder's price, and those individual face prints do help set these guys apart.
I mean, people have been using these heads for the Galaxy Patrol/Squad figures as well, so having more than "slight grin" is a bonus.

that's the biggest problem with Speed Champions and most Lego cars IMO, a lot of the model specific details can't really be done with the pieces available and stickers are a pretty shit solution even if there isn't any other available
