Baze and K2 are the only sets I'd say are almost worth 25 bucks.
Chirrut has your typical "we added 10¢ worth of clothing to the set which totally justifies a price increase of 5$" syndrome.
The Shoretrooper seems to fare even worse, given that he's pretty much the same build as the Stormtrooper but with a crappy looking plastic skirt and still costs just as much as the other sets.
Jyn is alright and worth it if you want that new chest piece.
Deathtrooper has terrible looking legs that are in no relation to the body and the usual Star Wars figure build that is becoming the new Inika build by now.

First, it's "Moeonicle," not "fembot."

Second, there is no parts list or instructions. You pretty much have do do it on your own based on what you have. Looking at other people's work is a great way to get ideas.

Third, the rule of thumb with me was about $60 worth of Bonkle sets from the classic series. One $20 set, one $30 set, and a $10 set for greebles. Naturally, buying sets on clearance or in thrift shops always helps. HF, the Bonkle revival line and the current SW figure line have dumb down parts that could hamper your building and throw my $60 out of whack with today's inflation. Still, if you just keep in mind the price of classic sets you should have a good lot of parts to choose from.

Fourth, expect a dedicated build time of about 8~12 hours. There's alot of trail & error. Start with the feet, then the calves, thighs, torso, head, and last, arms. Keep in mind that there's alot of weight on the legs & hips, so strengthen those knees & hip joints with either double ball joints or pistons.

The smooth round shoulder parts that the Toa had in the second classic Bonkle wave are worth their weight in gold. They're perfect T&A pieces. Use them sparingly if don't have many and/or you want to make more than one Moeonicle.

That's all I can tell you right off the top of my head. I should write this stuff down as you're not the first I've told all this to. Pic related as it's my first Moeonicle I made sometime way back in 2009. I still have her built. I need to recheck her joints to make sure they haven't cracked.

Can't be certain, but it's not much. That's why I suggest reinforcing the load bearing joints, such as the knees & hips if you plan on keeping your Moeonicle for some time. it should also fix any floppiness problems.

Here's an old boob making tutorial I found in my Moeonicle archive. I didn't make this. Some other anon did. hope it helps.

It depends on the style of the joint, the age of the pieces, the color, and sometimes even the particular production run of a specific piece. In general though, you can mix&match and substitute where needed to be able to sustain a pretty large amount of weight. A great example is Nori; the tentacles add a fair amount of weight, and their length does put considerable leverage on the body as a whole. Despite that, with some creative part use, she's able to stand on one leg without sagging.

Another thing I'm looking for is two pictures of a moc and a drawing. Well, I have found some promising looking dye, I'm thinking about starting a little business of dyeing masks and other parts and selling them. Modalt masks does an okay job of recoloring, but there's always this added bit of texture and detail that doesn't make it look officially LEGO -- plus I found a thread saying that the a trans purple Kaukau by flintsmith went for 55$, not that I'd charge that much but it shows there's some market for it. Would anybody be interested in that?

socketballmasks.tumblr.com is the official blog for custom mask stuff. I go by novuscarpus for other lego community stuff, just on flickr really. I do have a bzp account by that name but I never have much of a reason to post there.

I've got it down to a science now, only real problem is that transparent resin masks take a day to make and I have to wait a bit longer than that for the resin to fully air out. The floppines issue mostly came from uzing paint meant for glass rather than actual resin dye. I'm sure there's other things I'll learn as I do this stuff more.

So I've been thinking about making a continuation of Bionicle with the plot splitting off right around the skirmish at the black crater, with the Toa making a Toa Seal instead of returning to the stars, among other things. I'd also make custom "waves" by making combiners of different sets, released periodically with the story. I'll probably draw comics as well once I have a drawing tablet again. Would /biog/ be interested if I posted such a thing here, or would I be better off taking it somewhere else?

Most people new to the system consider that basic figure to be the be all end all when it comes to CCBS, Lego included (with the occasional Dragon Bolt and Evo Walker here and there).
Meanwhile, large figures like this one are just as easy to build with it but none of the available sets really showcase thise since they don't go over 25-30 bucks.

The summoning horn and the cape were cool ideas, but they shouldn't be too hard to reproduce.
The rest? I prefer the final set, which looks a lot creepier and illustrates his nature as a shadow/wood demon/evil fairy better, over his hunting occupation which is secondary to that (though still important).
I like the mask and wish we got something similar for another set, but again, the final one is more in line with his character.

The thing is, nothing interesting really happened before it was cancelled. The lore was so bare bones and there was essentially no multimedia promotion that really pushed the line hard enough. The books and graphic novels should have been released at the start of 2015, not toward the end, a year after the sets have been shelfwarming. The web series also rushed the whole year of 2015 into 20 minutes of shitty narration and the app game again, did nothing for the story.
If Bionicle wasnt going to have a TV series then it should have had its story unfold in some other platform, but every one LEGO provided just fell short and arrived too late for anyone to care. Not to mention the books, webisodes, and graphic novel just told the same story 3 times over with numerous conflictions that show that there was no consistency in how the story was handled. Nothing worked and by the time the story was actually going somewhere, it was with JTO at the very end of the line's run.
