I have a few from the late '70s-early '80s with mint-looking prints. The type of printing depended on the color of the torso - the red and white spacemen typically have the most-worn printing, and the blue and yellow torsos typically have the least wear. A while ago I took a picture of all my CS torsos that illustrates this, and somebody else posted their own collection that showed the same.

I can take another picture of mine later today if you want to see what I'm talking about.

Guy who found that Scuttler last thread; got back home and put it together this morning. I apologize for my terrible photo skills.

Some notes, I guess:
>New parts (AFAIK, at least) include 2 of the corner-SNOT pieces from Assembly Square and a 2x4 plate with a pair of holes hanging from underneath.
>Plenty of 2x2 plates with studs on the side throughout, with 8 in the head alone.
>Back uses a trans-black cockpit piece. It's probably already known, but I was surprised to see it.
>Finished model is fairly heavy.
>Minifigs are great, though Joker's cape keeps knocking him over.

Overall, it's a good set; get it when you can.

I finally cracked and bought a sealed Tyridium shuttle on eBay for £80. I might sell the minifigs though to make some of my money back but still can't help but feel I've paid over the odds (although some are going for £95+)

Some of you might remember me blogposting about how the Poolside Paradise I got for Christmas had a backwards door. I messaged the seller right after I realized it, but I figured it would be too late since I ordered it back in mid-November and had already marked the order as completed/ positive feedback. No I don't? I posted a video not that long ago. Not everyone on there is trying to make money. Lego reviewers can't even make money doing that. You need to get at least 100,000+ views and post multiple times a week to turn that into any sort of revenue stream. There's no reason why someone isn't posting decent reviews. It's just a matter of someone actually doing it.

The real problem is most decent people have jobs, lives, and pre-existing hobbies. Making videos is a hobby in and of itself.

I've got the Y-wing, it's real nice. Always preferred the design of it over the X-wing.

There's only 6 brown bits on the craft, 4 3block long tubes and 2 of those tube/antenna things on the neck behind the cockpit.
If you really didn't like them you could forego them when building it, the clip blocks add enough texture to the area as is.

I love these 2 modular sets so much. Its my the most favorite lego building ever. I know there are bigger and better modulars but they are way too big and not so easy to customize and open (you have to take every building level to see whats inside) unlike these 2.

Availablility of elements doesn't matter, they can even just make red wheel hubs and no-one will really care as long as the sets look the part. The chance of Lego doing 80s style sets again is slim however, as much as I'd like to see a more permanent "Legends" type line.

Finished today's project.
It's a modified version of the 9493 X wing to be blue instead of red and to use the new windshield part from Poe's X wing.

I had to extend the whole thing by 2 studs to fit the artoo unit and the new windshield.

Update on that bookshop I've been working on.
Tried to take the advice of those that posted in response to it.
Everything is obviously super WIP status...
But what do you think of the updates?
I was a big fan of whoever's idea it was to add fines all along the facade, so that's why there's a few SNOTs on the side of the planter, with the intention of sprinkling more throughout the front.
I just don't have any vines on hand, currently.

So, thoughts? Input? Criticism? Etc?

What catches my eye the most are two things. -From a structural perspective it doesn't really make sense for the gray structures at the sides of your building to become bigger and heavier towards the higher altitudes, and thinner and less likely to be able to hold the weight of the upper floors towards the bottom of the building.
If you want to go for a tapered effect, it would probably make more sense to switch it around so it's heavier/wider/stronger at the bottom to carry the upper floors and thinner and lighter every floor on top of it.
-The second thing is the general inconsistency in style from floor to floor. Not only do the gray structural elements change per floor a bit, but all the windows do not only have different frames but different size, aspect ratio and placement as well.

It might be a good idea to just take the elements from each floor you like and make different sketches thateach follow the style of one of them through from top to bottom.

Thinking about it, I don't think there's ever been a case where putting anime/cartoon stylized eyes on a standard lego minifigure ever looked good. It always ends up looking weird and completely disjointed from the usual simplified minifig appearance.
