Very interesting review.
Personaly I somewhat don't agree with
>When I give kids BIONICLE, it’s like instant gratification. You pop on a head, and you don't even need an arm, you already have a figure you can play with and run around with, especially some of the smaller kids.

You can do this with system as well. Heck I remember I had snake people tribe when I was like 4 who was made with head and 1x6 tile.
>>
>>6097883
Also instant gratification good only for 1-3 years

>>
Why haven't they added any nostalgiabait lego themes to Dimensions yet? If they made a Rock Raiders or Lego Island level pack it'd bring in a whole other demographic
>>
>>6097909
The same reason only original IPs on Dimensions right now are Chima, Ninjago and Movie. Adult collectors don't care about Lego originals because they're not cool licensed characters and kids don't care because they were before their time.

And nostalgia alone isn't enough to sell stuff. Most recent example being Bonkle.

Lego is for building exactly what's on the instructions and then placing it on your desk or shelf to remind you of when you were a child and allowed to have fun

So I'm after some Classic Space style minifigs (mostly torsos, I don't mind different helmets and the like), but most of the proper classic ones around nowadays are incredibly worn, yet I see recent pictures with Classic Space logos looking pristine. >So I'm after some Classic Space style minifigs (mostly torsos, I don't mind different helmets and the like), but most of the proper classic ones around nowadays are incredibly worn, yet I see recent pictures with Classic Space logos looking pristine.

I have a few from the late '70s-early '80s with mint-looking prints. The type of printing depended on the color of the torso - the red and white spacemen typically have the most-worn printing, and the blue and yellow torsos typically have the least wear. A while ago I took a picture of all my CS torsos that illustrates this, and somebody else posted their own collection that showed the same.

I can take another picture of mine later today if you want to see what I'm talking about.

I got the joke of the "its a trap" but not because of the picture but just because its a mousetrap.
whoever made that really is stupid.
luke wasnt even in that fight for the whole "its a trap thing". he was busy fighting vader and shit inside it

>>
There is a need for good Lego reviewers. They're either reddit/FB tier idiots or autistic, and sometimes they're creepy old guys.

In a video I just want to see someone
>show what's in the box
>show significant building information
>maybe give some commentary on that if it's necessary
>show the finished build and all it's functions
>give size references
>preferably there is no audio other than some stock music
how hard is this

>>
>>6099409
>>6099410
No I don't? I posted a video not that long ago. Not everyone on there is trying to make money. Lego reviewers can't even make money doing that. You need to get at least 100,000+ views and post multiple times a week to turn that into any sort of revenue stream. There's no reason why someone isn't posting decent reviews. It's just a matter of someone actually doing it.

The real problem is most decent people have jobs, lives, and pre-existing hobbies. Making videos is a hobby in and of itself.

There's only 6 brown bits on the craft, 4 3block long tubes and 2 of those tube/antenna things on the neck behind the cockpit.

Availablility of elements doesn't matter, they can even just make red wheel hubs and no-one will really care as long as the sets look the part. The chance of Lego doing 80s style sets again is slim however, as much as I'd like to see a more permanent "Legends" type line.

What catches my eye the most are two things. -From a structural perspective it doesn't really make sense for the gray structures at the sides of your building to become bigger and heavier towards the higher altitudes, and thinner and less likely to be able to hold the weight of the upper floors towards the bottom of the building.
If you want to go for a tapered effect, it would probably make more sense to switch it around so it's heavier/wider/stronger at the bottom to carry the upper floors and thinner and lighter every floor on top of it.
-The second thing is the general inconsistency in style from floor to floor. Not only do the gray structural elements change per floor a bit, but all the windows do not only have different frames but different size, aspect ratio and placement as well.

It might be a good idea to just take the elements from each floor you like and make different sketches thateach follow the style of one of them through from top to bottom.

Actually, as long as we're on the topic of Exo Force, I have a vaguely related (and totally randdom) question.

What single sticker sheet Has the most yellow/black diagonal hazard marker stickers?

This question is only related to Exo force because the Sonic Phantom has the most that I've found, it has 16 1x4 stickers.

Off the top of your heads you guys wouldn't happen to know of a sticker sheet that has more than that do yous?

>トクシュブタイ
It's written in katakana to look cool but it's two separate words

>トクシュ - tokushu - 特殊
special

>ブタイ - butai - 舞台
force (military unit)

aka special forces

but it's not grammatically correct since there should be a particle after the adjective and before the noun
In actual japanese it would be 特殊な部隊 (tokushu na butai)

I liked the tapered look, yeah, and more than anything else, just sort of wanted the second and 3rd floors to hang over the first one, and it just sorta got out of control.

I see this argument all the time, but here's the thing. When I was a kid, I didn't want just vehicles. I wanted to make castles and fortresses, jails for my criminals to break out of or hideouts with trap doors and stuff, city buildings, space bases, etc. too. I distinctly remember going through my small plastic container of pieces and CONSTANTLY running into a bunch of wheels with no use for them. I made plenty of vehicles too, but at a certain point, it became unbalanced.

The way I buy sets is usually I go for what's oldest since it might not be around much longer. After Christmas, a lot of stuff gets cleaned out and is replaced by the next year's sets, so I wouldn't wait on it. Post-Christmas sales seem to be the last big sale unless your local store does clearances.

Man, do I love these sky pirate sets. Wish I had the money for pic related.

>I'm glad it failed
It didn't. Korra ran longer than TLA

>a series deepy rooted in personal growth
Korra was not about becoming the Avatar, it was about being the Avatar. It was from a completely different perspective. It was also written for an older audience for obvious reasons. The conflicts were less about right and wrong, and more about complex social problems. Like season 4 was an allegory for communist China. It's not about a kid growing up.

>everything somehow magically works out for her
You mean there was conflict resolution? It's not like she suddenly had answers for everything like Rey in TFA.

Anyway, i'ma build Asami's sports car.

The top one with the 2wide pillars looks coolest to me.
Buildings with just one window per floor exist, but if you want it to feel more big and stately you could maybe try to squeeze two next to eachother in a slightly wider facade. Going for two windows on lower floors and a single stately master bedroom balcony window on the top will probably look cool.

If you really like the 1x1 round brick window frame on that floor, i might suggesting using jumpers to make it pop out of the facade by half a stud.

Making the "pedestal" (sorry if that doesn't make sense, i'm post-nye crunk) of the building on the ground floor match in style with your cornice? Like more fat and flowy instead of slim and spiky.

I'm surprised lego didn't use the new mech bodies, as they can be quite useful when building snake bad guys, especially ones like in the dragon's forge set.

Posting some builds I made yesterday before the game

I spent about half an hour trying to figure out how to make a good large oven before settling on this. As with many of the things I make for games, I spent a long time making it and it barely even got shown in the game. I figured I had better have a working oven in case somebody wanted to put somebody else one.

The island stove only got shown from the drawer side, but the side with the burners has inset switches. Pretty simple but I couldn't find the variant cupboards I have until this morning.
