I've bought about three zombicide games worth of pic related.

They're literally "O K"

One problem I have is poofyness if they're untouched, or having cards lock together if you crash them down. If it's the former, shit slides like MAD (but zombicide requires humongous stacks of cards).

Never played KD M, nor am I aware of the card sizes (equipment looks like square tiles) but I'd say that if you want to trust mayday, they atleast won't be total shit.

The base game has about 1500 cards, there are about 29 expansions for the game one of which is almost as big as the base game.

The average KD expansion is $50 and includes a big model, several human sized, and a pack of cards.

The average $50 box from GW comes with a couple plastic sprues that let you build between 5 to 10 models, and all big models cost upwards of that.

If someone pledged $1000 in this KS he's getting either the core game and at least 8 expansions or literally hundreds of models.

Needless to say KD models are better sculpted and more beautiful overall than what GW usually shits out. Compare the new Celestine with any of the female models (not only pinups) in KD, or any goofy GW monster with KD exquisitely detailed monsters.

This counts for the Satan pledge level in KMD campaign. Here, I will borrow one of the comments to display the numbers:

>TOTAL 107 packs (you can always add 2 more for standard and 1 more for gear to round the total amount to 110)

I think classes ARE Philosopies.

It sounds like the way the system works is that it replaces the generic Age system, and each time you hit a milestone you get to choose between giving a buff to the settlement, or gaining a new ability/upgrading an existing ability.

Philosophies don't replace fighting arts themselves, they just give you something that can replace them. My guess is that it will function like the Silk Surgeon SFA.

That still leaves 2 gear cards and a fighting art to play with.

I think an interesting one might be something like 'Epic Looting'.

Its a fighting art that just means that if this survivor is present when another survivor carrying cursed or irreplaceable gear would die, this survivor grabs that gear instead of leaving it behind and automatically equips it.

It interacts with the cursed belt, which is sort of a neutral gain, but you can use him as a safety net to protect cool irreplaceable gear that might otherwise be lost. The downside is he will pick up actually bad cursed items too, if given the opportunity.

Its not all that powerful, but it does something new and potentially interesting.

I've got to say, the balance in the game is pretty impressive. When we first got the cards out for the kingsman and figured out his special mechanics, we thought we were fucked and that this was an almost impossible fight, but with a bit of planning ahead and learning how best to use our survival points we ended up with a decent strategy. We felt pretty much the same way when we fought the Butcher as well, it's really rewarding.

One thing that still sometimes surprises me, is that the settlement phase of the game can take just as long as the showdown, despite seeming much simpler on the surface.

I mean that's my personal opinion on it. Abyssal woods will be relatively affordable (by KD standards) even at MSRP - clocking in a little north of $350. I'd have to add up all the Inverted Mountain stuff but that's roughly $650 at MSRP. The new stuff, since it's new, is also likely to be more difficult to get -now that Poots can presumably keep the store more stocked I expect that the old expansions will be there more frequently now.

Honestly, I think the Storm Knight is Adams trump card.

During the first kickstarter he had resin sales to support him until delivery. I think this time he has an expansion or two hidden away and ready to go, that he can release at retail and get a massive influx of cash to help with this one, should he need it.

But since the games scope is fairly solidified at this point, core is already in print, and shipping is being handled per wave at delivery instead of upfront, he has much better chances of not needing any extra to fuel the hype train.

How many level 1 lions do you guys kill before moving on? How soon do you need to move up to level 2 and/or other monsters?

The autism in me just HAD to have all the crossovers along with everything else.

Sure, they're pretty but the only one I absolutely could not go without was the HLD one and that's only because the game is dope as hell.

I know everything will be above and beyond, but if I didn't buy the plastic board, the crossovers, extra dice, and extra rulebook, I'd have an extra $278 sitting in my bank account when the transfer happens.

$100 for the board was pretty steep- as in that's the KICKSTARTER price that rivals prices of GW boards. Hopefully it will be cool.

You can move up to antelope 1 fairly quickly. You can even hunt it when it first unlocks and not be TOTALLY hosed (BoW managed, after all) but it's probably smarter to hunt L1 Lions until you have full lion armor. Then move on to the sweet resource stacks of antelope until you've got dash and 3-4 armor sets at which point Antelope 2 versus Lion 2 versus Phoenix 1 depends a lot on what you want out of your gains. Phoenix armor is nice, but Antelope gives you moar stuff and Lion gets you those sweet Cat Eyes (you will want at LEAST one asap) and Great Cat Bone for Zanbato, which could be a recurring expense.

The $1666 pledge, the biggest one, the all-in pledge, is receiving 372 total miniatures. In 35mm scale. 49 of these miniatures are monsters which range from the size of a 40K Centurion to five miniatures which are LARGER than a 40K Knight titan. I'm not actually kidding there -- measurements online put Knight titans at 6 to 7 inches tall and the Dragon King is 8 inches tall and significantly bulkier than the Knight titans are.

So, legitimately, here's what the Satan tier gets, in terms of miniatures:

323 approximately Terminator sized human / small monster enemies on 30mm bases (35mm scale is huge compared to 28mm scale)
12 approximately Centurion sized monsters on 50mm bases
24 approximately Dreadnaught sized monsters on 50mm bases
8 approximately Rhino sized monsters on 100mm bases
5 approximately Knight titan sized monsters on 135mm bases

And initially, I did fold to peer pressure and it was on my list of stuff to get. But as the late game expansions (Abyssal Woods, Ivory Dragon) showed up, I dumped the dragon to accommodate some of the other things I wanted. If we can alter our pledge later, I'll probably fold and add the extra $75. Otherwise, there's always Black Friday and scalpers. My big expansions went to Ivory Dragon, Abyssal Woods, and Screaming God.

Dash and surge, a decent survival limit (4+ would be very conservative), armor set on everybody, good weapons (you want to be able to hit his toughness, after all). The kind of stuff that's maybe not endgame but at least midgame caliber in general.

If you're paying 1000+ buckaroos, you're not just getting one expansion. You are getting the Core (Retails for around $400, between 200 to 300 if you go through the KS) and several expansions (Average $50 on KS with some ranging between $20 and $150, though the $150 expacs contain a shitload of minis and game content and are whole campaigns that replace the core campaign) and you're getting more than a GW army's worth of models along with actual game content. The Satan pledges which has the 12 Old Expansions, 15 New Expansions, and the Gambler's Chest which basically an expac containing numerous mini-expacs. This essentially The core + 28 expacs, and a shitload of promotional and pinup figures as well.

IF you also play Roleplaying games, these minis are probably going to end up in your campaign. Well, the less sexual ones anyway, unless your group is into that.

working on rolling out my first comic this year, in fact

the balls already rolling on a homebrew RPG too.

We are playing through our first game, what weapon specialties should we pick for our alpha bitch ( She got the hands of heat, our bonus for SOTF event, and a couple other attribute bonuses.)

We have one spear specialist, one bow specialist and one axe. I'm thinking either katars or grand weapons, but we still have not built the weapon crafter yet.
