How does Quantum Entanglement not allow FTL communication? I can't understand this.

No.

You can't send information by entanglement because you can't actually manipulate anything; you just know what the other person measured/will measure when they get around to it (if it is isolated sufficiently from the environment).

I know about the basic things like sleep and meditation but am sure there is more to it.Anyway feel free to share absolutely anything you think might be worth.

American Meteorologists say 2015 was the
warmest year on record for land and sea, as
melting ice raised sea levels 70mm higher than
the 1993 average, and the annual mean carbon-
dioxide concentration was greater than
400ppm.

It's a conspiracy by solar power industry and liberal academics. There's been no warming since 1893, in fact we're in a cooling phase.

Reaction time and IQ have been correlated positively in a multitude of studies:

>http://arthurjensen.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Reaction-Time-and-Intelligence-1981-by-Arthur-Robert-Jensen.pdf

With this a simple test can be used to determine a rough estimate of intelligence. The base-line 100 IQ is roughly 276ms while genius (160+ IQ) is 165ms. This can be derived with the help of this author:

253 ms = 117 IQ
29.23 ms = 15 IQ points

Can we have a thread about NASA failures and the toxic culture that precipitated them?

I was reading up on the Columbia disaster last night and I can't believe no one went to jail over this.

>Space shuttle Columbia takes off
>piece of foam insulation breaks off and damages the left wing
>NASA analysts insist the damage is nothing serious
>mission proceeds
>evidence from computer modelling shows that it might be quite serious
>NASA ignores the data
>DOD offers to photograph the shuttle in space so the crew can assess the damage and consider the prospect of repair
>NASA blocks the DOD from intervening, reasoning that there's nothing the crew can do about it
>NASA bureaucrats led by Linda Ham (who was later dismissed) decide that they're all dead anyway and it would be better not to let them know it
>Quote: You know, there is nothing we can do about damage to the TPS [Thermal Protection System]. If it has been damaged it's probably better not to know. I think the crew would rather not know. Don't you think it would be better for them to have a happy successful flight and die unexpectedly during entry than to stay on orbit, knowing that there was nothing to be done, until the air ran out?
>meanwhile NASA ground control sends the following message up to the crew before they begin reentry:
>During ascent at approximately 80 seconds, photo analysis shows that some debris came loose and subsequently impacted the orbiter left wing. The impact appears to be totally on the lower surface and no particles are seen to traverse over the upper surface of the wing. Experts have reviewed the high speed photography and there is no concern for RCC or tile damage. We have seen this same phenomenon on several other flights and there is absolutely no concern for entry.
>astronauts are now flying blind into almost certain death
>shuttle explodes over Texas
>Mission control declares a contingency and seals the room. Finger pointing begins at NASA

Why are American teachers so dumb?
Not only do statistics support this, but the protocol for answering questions basically follows this line of thought:
>"Well... I don't know. Maybe..."

and then conjecture that starts of humble is then manically pushed forward as the most probable reason, and then the only possible solution, always, and I mean always using logical fallacies to discount other possibilities and further their own theory.

How is it that teachers in America are completely oblivious to reasoning, science, fallacies, etc?

Foreigner here.

I still can't comprehend why America has the best colleges in the world (HYPSMC), but has one of the shittiest education systems among first-world countries.

Answering your question, from what I've seen from Hollywood it seems likely that a high percentage of American teachers are depressed due to pressures and thus are likely to not support the students in times of need etc.
>>
>>8256495
Canadabro here

I remember in high school, when I wished our teachers would act like yours instead.

Ask them a question they don't know the answer to and they give you bullshit answers instead of just admitting they don't know. I still remember when we were studying planets and stars, and I asked what is the size of the observable universe and the teacher answered

>Uhhh, it should be about 13,7 billion light years, because that's how much time the universe had to expand

Teachers below college level are dumb as fuck.

>anon, what's your evidence?

Okay, guys. I passed Physics I and II (intro classical mechanics and intro electromagnetism), but only because I memorized a bunch of equations and methods of solving the problems. I only barely passed the second class because all the other students were retarded and the teacher applied a huge grading curve. I don't feel like I've learned any physics. Physics right now just seems like a big mess of equations; no intuition.

How do I become less shit at physics? Or am I just retarded?

I also just finished Physics I and II. Passed with an A and B, but I feel like I only received such grades due to the other areas of the class, such as homework, labs, etc. Quizzes and finals I sucked complete ass. I feel pretty dumb.

Going to watch this thread.
>>
Read books. Git gud at math. Do exercises. Don't be discouraged about having to memorize the equations, you shouldn't be deriving them every time you have to use them. And special cases and solutions using things like Legendre polynomials and Bessel functions took many man hours to solve, don't feel discouraged if you need to memorize those or don't understand when or how to use them at first.
The solved examples in books are usually problems that explain the basic concepts of the topic and should be taken as basic fact and the intuition built around them.

Give an example of what you felt like you haven't learned or are missing from your education.
>>
>>8254343
OP here. I also got those same grades. I'm not ashamed of them, obviously, but I still don't feel like I've learned any physics.

>>8254349
>Give an example of what you felt like you haven't learned or are missing from your education.
Well, one of the biggest sources of my frustration was not fully understanding the physical significance in the equations. This was especially bad in electromagnetism, since the concepts seem more abstract, like fields, voltage potential, etc. Doing problems came down to finding the equations that have the right terms and plugging and chugging without any understanding of the concepts underlying those equations and why they are useful for solving that particular problem. Yes, it is discouraging to memorize equations without understanding their connection to the physics.

Because then you'll automatically assume anybody from said socially constructed group is dumb when they might not necessarily be, thereby hindering their chances in life
>>
>>8259327
Because "you're genetically less intelligent" had traditionally been used to discriminate against certain groups, worse still it's been used to deny them their human rights and even as a reason for genocide. This leads to people being a bit hesitant when bringing up the subject in modern parlance.

On the other hand "you're genetically lactose intolerant" has, as far as I'm aware never been used for the above.
