If you find malicious ad, please report it.

- URL where you see the ad on 4chan.
- screen capture on 4chan (if available)
- destination URL (if available)

Thank you for your support!

FAQ:
As I wrote earlier, things has changed. servers cost gets up. And ads gone.

I'm afraid to say that I can't answer off-topic question.
If I do so, this thread doesn't work by flooding other off-topic questions.

4chan gets tremendous low price for infrastructures.
If we show the price, their other clients get mad.
Then our price would become as high as other clients.
I don't think it's a good way.

Well, original purpose of the thread is to report malicious ads.
Actually, I don't feel good to take money from users.
I like to take money from advertisers.
At this time, 4chan can make contracts only low grade ad platforms unlike Google.
If 4chan manage to prevent malicious ads,
4chan will be able to run by advertisers money.
That's my plan.

copypasting from last thread:

Hiro, you must understand that /qa/ is not a good board for questions and answers. People here are just looking for things to attack, which is mainly you..

Arguing with idiots will never be productive, you won't change their mind, they just want to hate things until they are gone.

Use news and the blotter for announcements like new ads and money problems. Make a feedback thread in boards that are specifically affected by your changes if it's really needed. If you want a good board for feedback regarding ads, use /g/.

Best thing you can do is stay away from /qa/. I love that you communicate with the userbase, but /qa/ doens't represent every 4channer and is a very toxic board.

I am not entirely sure if you are being honest, but the fact is that you own the site and actually listen to people, which opens a door were people can try and shred light on the site's problems. That alone opens so many possibilities for improvement. I wish you could convince the mods to do this too.

Best of luck you crazy jap.

>He used ad-blocker. He mentioned "THE BLANK SPACE"

The ads sometimes don't work which cause blank space. I get blank space on my phone because the new spam ads don't load correctly.

>'Why don't you say "get rid of ads."'

It was a suggestion to move the ad space to a better position, not remove ads

>>
>>799564
did you already try contacting some services?
sms is really easy to use (no registrations/no banks needed).

since it has never been used before, you need to talk with some 4chan developer (I imagine in /j/ is where they talk about this sort of things?).
>>
Predict when 4chan will close.

>>
>>799565
Oh, I though he ge blank because of ad-blocker.

>>
I think phone only ads are a good idea (as I think some ads are at the moment). Most phoneposters are new users that are disliked in the community. Phone only ads would slow down the growing of the user base, make money for 4chan and wouldn't piss off the main userbase. If this is already being done as I suspected above then good job, I guess.

Advertisers would have gone.

Medias would attach 4chan.

I think he means risking losing potential advertisers(which seems a bit odd since he's using scummy adservers right now that don't give a shit, but maybe he thinks 4chan will get back to respectable advertisers in the future) over a loli board, so he's considering hosting it on a different domain.

There're many services, I believe the costs are almost the same everywhere.
I can give you some names but you will have to contact them individually to know the details.

Boku is one of the most famous services:

These are less famous but they have similar features:

Anyway, always talk with the 4chan developer team (in >>>/j/) before making decisions about this kind of things. They may know better services, who knows.

https://developers.google.com/safe-browsing/

Chrome and Firefox use this.
>>
How much people are there on the advertising team?
>>
>>799871
!^
>>
>>799868
The majority of them either just use thumbnails or just wholesale rip them off the site and host them externally.
>>
>>799859
He means it's useless to wait, because in the end there're no trustable advertisers for 4chan.

Have you ever thought about creating your own advertiser platform Hiro?
>>
>>799868
Hey hiro one of the biggest /b/ archives does this

https://archive.b-stats.org

What will you do about this? They're wasting your bandwidth!
>>
>>799884

Stop. Now.
>>
>>799871
oru shitu
>>
>>799864
He had not tried ad platform, I guess.
If you put your ad on /b/,
your products images would be shown with bad /b/ pictures.
You always see the situation.
So you would take your ad down.
It was before.

My plan is “Where does a wise man hide a leaf? In the forest."
If we have many ads for 4chan,
you would not see your ad on /b/.
it may be shown.
But you don't see situations at all the time.
So you would not take your ad down.

Do I make myself clear?
>>

That's why you are in this thread.
>>
>>799645
>>799664

[s4s] is gonna have a field day with this one
>>
>>799884
Why do people bother archiving /b/ of all places?
>>
>>799876
If you said all of them, no problem.
As you said "The majority", some of them may hurts 4chan.
>>
>>799871
well if 4chan does get flagged that would do a lot to cut the current traffic rate down, and ergo reduce bandwidth costs
>>
>>799884
Even if there're 100 archive sites out there, they're really just a drop in the ocean, 4chan traffic is almost 100TB a day in total, which is huge.
>>
>>799877
I wrote my plan.
What do you mean own advertiser platform?
>>
>>799890
So your plan is to have so much advertising so seeing your ad would be rare?

Some people don't want to advertise because of the opinions of ALL boards not just /b/
>>
>>799891
Well, the reason I bring Google Safebrowsing up is because it is known as an 'encompassing' service.

What this means is that if a single part of 4chan is considered a 'bad' web page, then the entire site is blacklisted.

This includes references or redirects to other web-sites. Including hosting banner ads from services which are considered a 'bad' web site.

So even if you manage to find and block all of the malicious advertisements being pushed from your new advertisement partner. If the advertisement partner itself ever becomes 'blacklisted' for serving malware, then 4chan will as well on the basis of linking to that advertisement partner.

Just something I thought you should know about.
>>
>>799901
Like, creating your own adsense or adfly service, where you're CEO.

I'm not an expert so I don't know much, but if you want you can try asking in >>>/biz/ about things like these.
>>
>>799906
What he means by this is

>one page on 4chan gets marked as malicous by google
>all of website is blocked by google + google chrome and firefox
>>
>>799724
It's a nice idea to just make another board on another chan but, as long as 4chan exists.. it will never get any real traffic.
>>
>>799909
Thank you

(Get?)
>>
>>799910
>it will never get any real traffic.
So fucking what?
Traffic is what turned 4chan into complete shit over the years compared to how it used to be.
>>
>>799902
in advertise market, many clients don't check where their ads are shown.
If you have big budget to advertise your product,
You give the money to an ad agency,
the ad agency pay money to many ad platforms,
Ad agency don't know where the ads are shown.

Do you think you can check every websites where you ad are shown by Google adsense?

>>799925
>Moot didn't take those ads because he believed in the ad banners
moot was very skilled/lucky at getting J-List to sign on to 4chan and probably give him a special price too. They bailed when moot was no longer around. I think people are really underestimating what he did to keep the site running, and assuming it should be easy for hiro to magically make the same happen. Like hiro says... we have to accept reality here.

Of course it's super typical of /q/-era newtards to blame the admin (and make up conspiracy theories) rather than accepting the simple truth that service providers are assholes who bail at the slightest sign of trouble (illegal content, raiding, even just porn) and jack up their prices.

If we're doing a donation scheme then Patreon-style is actually better. Instead of a one time and done donation the donations are recurring and build up over time. The biggest problem would be getting a Patreon type site to accept us. Thankfully Stripe has a recurring billing API so we could set up our own.

By using malicious ads, more users will end up using adblockers, so you will further prove that 4chan is not worth advertising on.
Your actions are bringing about the direct opposite effect.
All shitty ads do is end up making more adblock users, ad agencies would not want to advertise here anymore when everyone is using adblock.

>>799834
>>800116
By the way I have never used an adblocker on the site when there were still jlist ads.

The number of adblock users will just increase if you don't immediately remove these ads.

Resumé:
g00km00t:
-Relocate aids to the sides of the posting box, the top ones are driving people away
-Allow donations through phone ( >>799663 )
-MAKE SURE THAT THE ADS DONT HAVE MALWARE, or google will blacklist us.
-If you do paid stickies make sure that are not just for ads, allow users too
-Allow users vote for filters like in the banners but for kys cuck stuff like that

There is nothing wrong with trying to make a profit from your site, but it the way you do it that matters.

Why don't you ever address the fact you put malware on the archive pages long before J-List even left?

You put the malware on the archive to likely increase revenue, people noticed, hated it and then enabled their adblockers. It's no coincidence that after that, J-List decided to stop advertising here because of too many people using an Ad Blocker.

People whitelisted 4chan prior because they wanted to support the site and the ads were very unobtrusive. After you added malware, people had no reason to put their machine at risk to put up with your bullshit so on turned the adblockers.

It isn't a case of the internet suddenly wising up and using adblockers, we're far, far past the stage of that and 4chan survived through it before without needing to resort to these shady practices
>>
>>800191
DONATE OR DIE requires attention any time people want to donate, Patreon-style requires attention once and then they have to give attention again to stop it. Users are lazy. Over time as more users set it and forget it it'll build up. Any individual month will net less than one DONATE OR DIE, but you don't have to keep pestering users any time you want your pocket change.

I don't doubt that it wouldn't be much initially, but set it up and it'll build up.

As for an actual estimation? I've no idea. I'd just be pulling numbers out of my ass.

>>800202
I didn't say use Patreon nimrod, I said Patreon style. It's a succinct way to describe the donation style. All Patreon is is a front on top of the Stripe/Paypal API, that's easily set up custom for 4chan. 4chan currently uses Stripe for payment processing, there'd be no more costs than normal donations.

i guarantee you 4chan is going to net less than $1000 of earning every month.

danboruu has a patreon and it makes less than $100

patreon itself has a patreon page and it's less $300

websites don't get much on patreon money you have to seek big single donations to keep it up for decades to come.
>>
>>796452
What about other platforms, such as Android or Windows?
>>
>>799670
What the fuck are you doing

There will be fucking nothing left besides ads you fucking gook shithead. If you make the entire site ads, then what will be left?
>>
>>800275
Wasn't even aware either of those had Patreons, hich is probably a contributing factor to why they get so little. I find it interesting that Danbooru actually gets an eighth of what the pony version, Derpibooru, gets. There's also EquestriaDaily which is in the same range ($700-$800) without any visibility. The only examples that come to mind is ponyshit, but they do show the point that with a significantly smaller throughput they can get significant amounts.

A little bit of shilling, like a donation bar slapped on the top of every page, and I think we'd break $1k easily. I doubt we'd ever come close to the actual costs, but if one or two months out of the year can be paid for it's still worth it.

That's Google's fault, and always has been. Google use you to train computers to recognise store fronts and street signs, and then they can use your free labour to develop futuristic killing machines when they inevitably attempt to topple the governments of the world.

No website that uses Captcha has any control over what Captcha puzzles are given. However, there are alternatives to Captcha which can also be used (for example, there is an advertising one where you can't post until you have typed, "I love Dr Pepper!" or whatever).

Honestly I don't remember J-List being gone when you took over. If that was the case, moot's claim of this site being financially stable would be false, wouldn't it? Since you're essentially saying that without J-List this site is completely in the shitter and can barely function.

Besides, those clients are probably angry enough that you've mentioned you're getting it much cheaper than them anyway.

With regards to J-List. You're saying they left when moot was here because of too many adblockers, then came back in October for reasons you somehow don't know and then left again because of adblockers?

Do you understand why people have difficulty trusting you Hiro? Why, even as I'm typing this post, I don't even know if you're sincerely trying to respond and make people understand or just chortling away at all the people you're scamming? There's evidence to suggest the latter, you've not got the best history and you know it, and we fast forward here to the present and many agree you're dragging this site down the shitter. 2ch predicted things like this would happen when you took over and is it just a coincidence that it has? To get attention is thirty minutes of CSS to put a donation bar on the main pages, which would cost less in bandwidth than a board banner.

The cost is in effort to spend a little bit setting it up with the Stripe API, which is already used with the donations and 4chan passes so it's just spending an hour or two fucking with the subscription part and then basic testing.

Another way to effectively advertise with 0 cost would be to morph 4chan passes into it, effectively setting it up so that people can donate on top of paying for passes.

It may not pay out, but nothing else you're doing seems to be having any positive effect.

you made 4chan gold a reality
on a site where anonymity is king and the beauty lied in everyone being on equal footing regardless of wage, height, weight, gender and race. you're trying to goad people into buying a 4chan pass by restricting content that was open to all before and implementing shitty practices only to serve as a way to sell passes

you're ruining this site

No, I can't guess anything if you don't provide figures. I mean, I could make a wild guess as to what 4chans server costs are, but there's no way at all of telling if I'm right or way off the mark. If I were to guess it'd honestly be around 20k.

As for what I want you to do, I don't know, I was hoping you'd have an answer for that to sort shit out. People don't believe this site is actually dying and they have reason to.

You can set up donations, malware, push for 4chan passes but if people don't trust you, how is it going to work?

Some of the things I've seen you suggest are completely asinine. Stickied ads? Shutting down archive sites? Needing to pay and have a 4chan pass to have any say over the site? You're driving away the very users that make this place. I can only hope you don't go through with them.

What were you expecting from this place when you bought 4chan?

Ha, bit uncalled for but I'll take it I guess
Honestly I'm not even sure what you're referring to anymore. I'm referring to the Amazon Web Services figures you posted.
>$0.030 per GB
Is the figure for Amazon Web Services, right? But you don't actually use Amazon Web Services. You use Cloudfare and we don't know how much they charge you outside of some vague claims you've made of server prices going up and receiving a hefty discount.

Also, stop with the habit of ignoring the rest of the post or addressing only one point from it, it's frustrating and you do it quite a bit

>>801042
What's the point of coming up with a figure if it's just a wild guess? I know he says he won't give the cost of operation out, but my point is that giving the Amazon Web Services figure just seems like a load of bollocks since that's not what he's paying anyway and it's probably not even close
>>

>but my point is that giving the Amazon Web Services figure just seems like a load of bollocks since that's not what he's paying anyway and it's probably not even close
Your point is tremendously asinine, it could be an upper limit, or maybe we are supposed to take into consideration his past statements regarding the huge discounts we get, so half of that. You keep insisting on having Hiro take you by the hand and walk you through it, no wonder he doesn't think you are an adult, yuo don't behave like one. If you can't figure it out or feel uncomfortable making a guess, simply don't, don't keep questioning him about the same thing over an over like an autist. If 4chan is to survive it won't be thanks to people like you, or people who trust Hiro, it'd thanks to whatever strategy makes us enough money, not from charity, but from ads and other stuff.
>>
>>801064
>You keep insisting on having Hiro take you by the hand and walk you through it
No, stop talking out your ass. I did no such thing, and even you yourself admit it doesn't really provide any clarity as to what 4chans server costs are.

But honestly all of this is futile, my main point wasn't about the server costs, it was literally two sentences I included that Hiro then picked out and the discussion flowed from there. I've not even heckled at him to actually reveal the server cost either.
The point about 4chan surviving is moot if we're not actually in any danger
>>

You keep pestering him for a formula and all of its variables, that's not guessing. What 4chan server costs are has never been clear to begin with, moot said the same exact thing Hiro does regarding our deal.

If you don't believe we are in danger then why the fuck are you questioning Hiro if you don't believe him from the start. It's obvious you already made you mind about this, or have a strong idea of how should we be doing financially. You are wasting everyone's time by having Hiro trying to disprove your own guesses and assumptions about him and 4chan
>>
>>801115
>You keep pestering him for a formula and all of its variables
I'm not. If it seems like I am, I honestly don't intend to. People have asked him time and time again and he's not going to reveal them, it's useless to continue to do so. Maybe the fault is on my end for replying about those comments which honestly were never my main point to begin with.

As for the rest, that's just how it works, isn't it? Any time Hiro shows up everyone throws questions his way, whether they trust him have shitposted to death about a gook destroying the site. I suppose it's out of hope.

If more malware ads = more user adblock
less advertiser will come because more user use adblock.

>JLIST put their ads after I put ads.
Didn't you say Jlist left? Now no more jlist right?
Now jlist gone because more user use adblock yes?
That further means malware ads = more user adblock = jlist less want to come back

Ad blockers are everywhere on internet.
it's not a 4chan only problem.
Advertisers don't care how much people use ad blockers.
They care impressions.
As long as impressions are enough, ad works.

for small sites, ad block is a big problem.
Because impressions is getting smaller.
4chan has huge impressions.
with ad blockers, still big enough impressions.

If you could transform 6000 dollars one-time to 2000 dollars recurring, it would greatly improve 4chan's bottom line.

With donations, people get excited, maybe donate some money, and then stop thinking about it and don't donate anymore. Subscriptions help solve that problem. Stripe, 4chan's payment processor, already has built-in support for subscriptions.

While /b/ is one of the most popular boards and serves many impressions, I don't think people will be convinced by that logic. I respect Hiroyuki for dealing with you people. I can't imagine what it's like going through this on a daily basis. A bunch of immature children that can't even behave to better the website they rely on for the only social interaction they have. Maybe that's why it's difficult. None of you know how to behave socially.

There's 203,653 current users on this website. That's a lot. You don't know what they all want nor do you speak for them. You act like you know the solution, but you don't know anything about anything.

For me personally I think being able to purchase passes for a month at a time would be better. I know I'd purchase one if that was the case. "Passes cost $20 per year, which is about $1.67 per month" I think a lot more people would be comfortable paying $1.67 per month or even trying it out for a month than paying $20 upfront. I don't know how many people will go for it, but I think you'd get an influx regardless. Maybe they'll even stick around if they like the features.

Hiro deserves no respect for anything he's done. He hasn't done anything but create problems. Stop shitposting. Anons haven't been acting like immature children, HE HAS. He has done nothing since day one but create problems and showed no effort to connect with the userbase or create some form of trust. Yes, trust, this is very important. There is no trust here. He doesn't deserve it anymore. He has done everything in his power to break any fucking possibility of us having any trust in him. He showed with the yotsuba shit that he doesn't care about us at all. He cares more about what he wants and that we should just suck it up. This ad shit has been nothing but him being evasive about everything and him trying to suck as much money as possible.

Don't call me a child when Hiro has done everything in his power to not communicate with us or connect. He's been nothing but evasive to all questions to the point of actually ignoring everything that was said and shitposted instead. All the problems in these threads stem from Hiro, don't blame the users for Hiro's incompetency. The only foolish people being deceived here are people who believe hiro. He's done *nothing* to show that he is telling the truth in any form but say trust me and those saying otherwise are lying.

The pass features are the most retarded. They should have never been more than the captcha shit. Anyone with any experience with forums should know that they are cancer to the site. Not just do they shit on everything this site has been built on, they will destroy its community. The users here are all *equal* and this stuff shits all over that and that solely will destroy the site even when you ignore all the other shit paid features cause. I don't really understand what you're saying, but it sounds like moderation needs to be more consistently strict for people to want to advertise on boards that aren't like /b/. Everyone outside of 4chan already knows that EVERY board is full of garbage, so most of them don't want to advertise anywhere on the website. That's what happens when such an awful reputation is built up over a decade.
>>
>>800693
J-List's deal with 4chan has always been off and on. They advertise here for maybe nine months per year. They have left many times before, and they always came back.

Of course, this also means that moot managed to run 4chan with even less advertising revenue than you are assuming, so that was good of him.
>>
>>801461
You can please some of the people some of the time. He has to make his best judgement. That's what a leader does. Some people will hate it, but others will love it. His site anyways. He can do whatever he wants.

He's communicating with us more than Moot has. Yes, I know it's lowercase. He's answering the questions directly. Moot wanted to sell the website for a reason. If the founder who grew up with this website decided to sell it then you know there's something going on. Hiroyuki is doing the best he can to turn it around. He's not deceiving anyone. He saved this website by purchasing it. He's still probably the highest "donator" in that respect. If he can afford the website, he can afford to start a regular business. He clearly does this because he cares. If he was after profit, I guarantee you there are MUCH better alternatives. You can even purchase a website that allows Google's advertisements and make MUCH more than you are now.

Pass features aren't retarded. They're paying customers. They deserve all the features they want you entitled leech. Free customers are still important due to this being a social platform and you don't want it to just be a /vip/ circlejerk. Gets lonely without "new" people. This is why free customers get advertisements shoved in their faces. This website allows you to use it for free. They deserve something in return. These things have costs.

If you aren't paying for a product, you are the product. If you hate Hiroyuki then you'd really hate me if I was the owner. I'll fix you motherfuckers real quick. You have to respect the culture, but you need to find a way to make the users pay. That way you're not at the mercy of advertisers and you don't corrupt the website. Then again, I could be wrong. I don't have the behind the scene statistics so I can't be sure. Oh well...
>>
>>801480
And him being bad at it is the problem. He's receiving the exact same amount of flak moot received it is just directed to a certain direction. Can we trust you and do you actually care He's done nothing but destroy those two points. He's been overly evasive on everything said since day one, he's done nothing to actually connect to the userbase and only given empty words. He comes and then fucks off after breaking something and then never does anything to fix it or check up on it. He hasn't shown any attempt to connect. If he was trying to connect he wouldn't do stupid shit, refuse to communicate to the userbase, just fuck off and make odd decisions without prior consult of the userbase. Any attempt to communicate with him by the userbase is normally shutdown, ignored, shitposting by *him*, given dumb vague replies that mean nothing, given dumb replies like "no we only i" and proceeds to ignore everything that was said or his most annoying done to basically everything is to ask for a 100% impossible userbase consensus or ask for fucking proof for shit and even if you provide it, he either fucks off again or ignores you and does dumb shit like saying hi to people. I know what hiro has been doing, excluding that initial q&a, at least 5 - 10% of his fucking replies between /qa/ and /a/ have been just to *me*. Most of my posts have been needlessly long as well.

The yotsuba shit was hiro trying to replace it with a ad telling the users to suck it up. People explain it in a way even he could understand and he was still 'it dont make all that matters is you dont forget' and he made some dumb mickey mouse comparison.

I am more inclined to believe an anon who tries to at least back up the dumb shit he is saying than trust "text isn't evidence" just trust me hiro.

Can you show us a link? It would be fun to see it. You can show us on YouTube...or NicoNicoDouga :^)

>>801215
Because, dude, you are not every poster here. I haven't started adblocking this site; I just don't click the obvious viruses and everything works fine. And nobody whitelists anything when the browsing experience is better without advertising. You're like one of those people who will illegally download an album, and then promise to buy it if you like it. I know people like that; they never buy anything.
>>
>>801521
You can't blame a group of people who have done nothing but attempt to communicate with someone when that someone has done nothing but refuse to communicate.

>>801543
Go fuck yourself. I'm not even going to bother replying to anything but that pass comment because it pisses me off. This isn't a business, this is a community. Let me repeat this, THIS
IS
A
COMMUNITY
NOT
A
BUSINESS
So no, I'm not a leech. Paid features in the community are nothing but cancer waiting to kill it. YOU and people like YOU are the cause of the deaths of good communities over the years. ALL 4CHAN USERS ARE *EQUAL*, this is an absolute that we have been founded. You DO NOT deserve any special treatment for giving money over.

Go fuck yourself and go back to Something Awful.
>>
>>801417
I respect Hiro too. Seeing all these butthurt autists really makes him look better by comparison.

Everything else you said in that post is moronic.
>>
>>801560
It frightens me to imagine how you speak to customer service people when you phone them up because your Internet's gone down.

Also, this absolutely is a business. Businesses fail without money, and 4chan will fail without money. People keep explaining to you (maybe to others too, but you come across as so utterly unhinged that I wouldn't be surprised if every screaming-idiot post came from you) that without money, there will not be a community any more, and all you can do is say, "N-no!" over and over again.

AND
LOOK
I
CAN
SEEM
ANGRY
TOO
LOOK
AT
MY
CAPITALS

It doesn't suddenly become convincing, does it?
>>
>>801560
But I will blame a group of people who act just as foolish as the people they are complaining about.
>>
>>801575
I call them up and abuse them because I live in Australia and if you don't the dumb Indians on the phone will sit their looking stupid trying to figure what to do and then proceed to say yes we fix you wait 1 week and internet will work please wait and then its one month later, you are still paying your bills and you have no internet because they did nothing and then you have to call them back up to get them to send a tech which you will have to pay for. As opposed to abusing them and then they send a tech down the very next day and he fixes the problem for free, a problem that was actually their fault.

And no, this isn't a business, it is a community. A business is an for-profit entity, this is not a for-profit entity. The website doesn't exist to make money, it exist to be a place for a community to interact. Any money this website makes is for it to stay afloat. The users are are *equal*, no user is meant to gain any form of extra privileges unless you are a janny or mod. It doesn't fucking matter if the site dies without money, it won't change the fact this isn't a business. The website is much better off dying then adding features that shit all over the community and break the equal part. This is something you don't do. You can sit there wanking hiro and how you are an elitist superior pass user, but it won't change what is a fact and meant to be. I am equal to you and anything that breaks that shouldn't be added. Every forum over the years that has listened to you over the years has either dead or grew to have a fucking dogshit garbage elitist community that is worse to use than our current /b/.

4chan is much better off being deleted or deleting boards than adding fucking paid features. At least with the sites death it will allow all the other smaller chans to have a chance to flourish. And no, that doesn't mean 8gag.

It's a business. Doesn't mean it's not a community. It has to make money. It can't magically survive on memes. However, we have to do it where it's mutual. That's beneficial to 4chan, too. Profit manifests itself in more ways than just money. Morale is valuable too. They do the right thing. We support them. Everyone is happy. Maybe 4chan can even turn a profit, which they deserve.

There have to be compromises. If you're not a paying customer you will see advertisements. The consequence of a website like this is that Google wants no part in it. Which is why the advertisements "suck". I think it's a fair exchange for what you get. What do you expect them to do? Just give it away for free?

This reminds me of this:

To be fair, 4chan is already all of that except elitist.

If you have a gun, put a bullet in it, load it, put the barrel in your mouth, pull back the trigger, and die.

You need to get the fuck off of here. You're nothing but a newfag parasite who knows NOTHING about 4chan

>Now, you look like drunken.

Sick burn dude.

Hope you bring back self-serve. I loved the self-serve 4chan Ads that were on the site, but I think you should fall back on merchants like J-List who pay you commission for sales. The advertisements were very much tame, and even though they didn't sell much, advertisements weren't pissing people off left and right, with accusations of them being malicious.

It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.

During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.

Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy....

How to make 4chan break even and not piss off everyone

- Allow 3 sponsored thread slots per board
Sponsored threads appear at the top of the catalog and cannot be bumped off page ten until the time period purchased expires. Do not make them stickies.

- Make 1 VIP threads per board
VIP threads also appear at the top of the catalog and cannot be bumped off page ten. You make it so this VIP thread is the only meta thread allowed on the board and it's where you can link to VIP only polls.
