Ask about switching to another weight of oil, sprocket changes etc and see what they have to say.

Hey faggots, I just want to report in and say that you guys should seriously considering picking up a miata if you have the extra cash. It complements motorcycle riding very well. It's almost comical how small and refined these are. I guess there is no point if you live in an area with perfect weather year round but being able to drive this thing during the winter is a perfect extension of riding IMO.

I got a 2013 750 new. I ended up just tracking it all the time cause I lived in Chicago and there are no fun roads to ride really.

That said it's a great bike. Reliable, predictable, compliant, great powerband, easy to work on. You shouldn't be worried about getting a modern one second hand - gixxers are built to take a beating and you'll easily find guys with high mileage ones and no complaints. I used to have a k6 750 with upwards of 30k miles on it and it ran perfectly fine - just mind to the chain and service it correctly.

Depends on crankshaft angle as much as cyllinder angle.

If it's some shitty budget kawasaki with a 180º crank don't expect anything great. The africa twin has a 270º crank with a balance shaft and is significantly smoother for it.

Cbr here (holland) is the institution that is very critical into testing you to give you your drivers licence, basically, they are the ones that give you permission to get a drivers licence from our friends at the government.

Already had a licence for a cage, but folks keep borrowing my car without permission. I'm pretty certain they can't drive this.

the ninja 300 is more powerful than its 250 counter part but not my much.

it's a smoother ride and the extra CC's help with the torque down low, but it's still not a very torquey engine.

It's super happy up at high revs, it's got a high rev ceiling at like 14k or so. It's fuel injected too so that already makes it a lil easier to live with than its very cold blooded sister the ninja 250 and has better fuel economy.

Like the ninja 250, it has little more go at 75+ speeds than say the thumper on the CBR300R. and Can probably get up to 90-94 before it feels like you're all spent.

Overall, its pretty comparable to an R3, and you can probably get one for cheap but not as cheap as you could a ninja 250.

I would say its a great for that small class, but doesn't compete with say a 500cc or 600cc bike at all.

Consider it a modern "improved" ninja 250. It runs along the same capabilities.

Honestly i think you would be best off getting one of pic related with a restrictor on it.

Restricts their power to around 45hp and once you are completely comfortable with that power you can upgrade the bike by removing the restrictor not selling it and finding a bigger bike.

300's are like a scam, if you don't live in a country that requires you to ride one by law there is no point in getting one.

it died. Low compression and possibly some kind of spark timing issue I can't figure out. I didn't expect a compression issue to turn it from running perfectly and strong one minute to suddenly dying and never starting back again but maybe. I won't be using it as a primarily street bike anymore once I fix it anyway. That was the biggest waste ever.

I don't think I ever overfilled it. No signs of burning oil, blowing exhaust into the cooling system, or mixing oil with coolant. My valves were still in spec too. Maybe my intake valves were so worn out (they are soft in these engines) that they couldn't seal anymore even with proper clearances.

I don't know. When I get the money to actually buy parts I'm going to pop the head off for inspection then most likely send it to someone who specializes in these engines to have new valve seats cut and stainless steel valves fitted. My cylinder wall might be scuffed up too so I'll probably have to do something about that. I've never rebuilt an engine before so I don't know if I just need it replated or what. If it's not too expensive I'd like to increase the bore size to the same as the 525EXC.

In the US we have the XC models with linkage suspension, XC-W models with a wide ratio trans and PDS, and the EXC models which are basically the XC-W but street legal.

If you're going to be doing any serious offroading get the 800 over the Explorer. The 800 is heavy enough already, adding 90lb+ doesn't help. If they ever make a near 500lb Tiger Explorer I'll be there with money in hand.
