Anyone have any experience wearing perf leather during the summer? I want something that breathes okay for summer heat in Pennsylvania but I definitely think protection is a better trade off for comfort so some type of flimsy mesh jacket won't cut it for me. yeah it's fucking necessary. you can coast around corners all day but it's not a great idea. you can also never alter your body position because you can, but good body position reduces lean angle and improves traction so you're less likely to fucking crash.

I'm just cruising down a road at the speed limit homeboy, using maybe 3% of my bike's traction. There's no need to hang off and roll on the throttle like a boy racer because there's literally nothing I could do short of smashing the brakes or revving to 14k and dumping the clutch that could break traction. Yeah perforated leather (assuming it has those light fabric vents in the non-essential areas like underarms and inner thighs) is nice in the summer. My race leathers are cooler than my textile riding jacket. The main downside is that it isn't adjustable simply with a zipper to make it waterproof and/or windproof so I would have to add extra layers to ride comfortably in cold or wet conditions. Also the leathers are stiffer and tend to force the riding position when off the bike which is annoying, but I assume street-aimed leathers wouldn't be so bad about this.

I've encountered plenty of low traction situations just fine. Rolling on the throttle usually isn't the answer to those. You don't want any excessive force on the tire you generally want to maintain speed and straighten up as much as possible without leaving your lane as you pass over an oil puddle. Also please explain how rolling on the throttle will help me if I need to suddenly brake during a corner for some road hazard.

Been riding on a 36 degree (c) day before in full perf leathers (pic related) and it was manageable.

Just make sure to wear skins or breathable sports clothes underneath (or nothing at all, racer style) or it won't work properly (and drink a lot of water).

If you are rolling on the throttle, you will have more front wheel traction to brake or swerve to avoid that oil puddle. If you go over that oil puddle, you can modulate the throttle to save it without severely upsetting what little traction you still have.
