In the middle. I hate cagers as in the bad drivers that act like they own the road and don't give a fuck about anyone or anything. I also hate people that drive all the time when it's a short distance and they could easily commute by bicycle or by foot instead.

OP your post, and all posts like them, stink of being Underage B& and a NEET.
Try getting a job, and a life, and stop demonizing people and things you obviously can't afford. All it does is make you look rediculous.
Need I remind you that without these horrible 'cages' you seem to hate so much, many of your friends an family wouldn't be alive, including you, you wouldn't have even half the things you have, including your bike? Stop acting like a silly child and posting nonsense. One day you will have a car, and you'll LIKE having a car. Even if you resist up to the point of being married, that'll all come to an end the day your wife says to you "Honey, I'm pregnant!" because you'll be a bad parent if you can't get your sick kid to the hospital or doctor fast enough. So how about you stop being silly, okay?

Are the D000 trains on Seoul's Shinbundang Line the only ones?

It operates like a regular subway line, but the train will travel at 90km/h (in operation, not just test) in some parts of the track, requiring the plug doors usually used on high-speed passenger trains.

Plug doors are more or less an aesthetic choice, makes building things easier when you have windows very close by. Speed is pretty much never a factor

The Siemens Nexas is all plug door for example just for shits and giggles. On the other hand, Tokyo's subway trains (among others around the world) lack plug doors and run at over 100km/h with no fucks given. You will also note that on some sets like the 15000, they opted for a windowed slot instead of plug doors (not unlike some Japanese suburban trains), partly because it's harder to push people into a train with plug doors though an arguably ugly solution

I have been checking out Denver this summer and I am impressed by how bike friendly it is.
I hope more cities follow suit.
The downtown area is full of people on bikes on weekends , more than in cars maybe.
Does anyone know of a good free parking lot near downtown withing biking distance of the 16th street mall?

Hi! I see you're posting a thread about biking in Denver. Yes, you can take your bike on the train, I do it every single day. Also, tonight is Denver Cruiser Ride, check it out, it's a blast! I'll be there. Look for a guy on a black Pugsley and say the codeword: ">implying".

Also, keep in mind that you can only ride your bike on 16th street mall on Sundays, you will be ticketed on other days. Remember, if someone parks in the bike lane downtown, go right ahead and fold their mirror out.

Motorists are *generally* pretty friendly towards cyclists here, because it's a very active city, but there are always going to be a few assholes. Have you explored the cherry creek / platte river / highline canal trails yet? Have you gotten any good mountain biking in yet?

A few great places to ride that are accessible via the light rail are:
Lookout Mountain (Road)
Deer Creek Canyon (Road)
Waterton Canyon (Gravel)

A favourite of mine is to ride the front side of Lookout, and then come down the back side, up to Red Rocks, and then back through Morrison.

See you at cruisers tonight!

I just bought a new mtn bike for a little over 3 grand (which is a lot for me) and I can't stop checking the basement to see if it's still there. It's got a U-lock through the back wheel and it's attached to a support column with a cable.

I also bought a cheap door alarm but I'm scared I'll sleep through the noise.

Anybody else experience this? Anything else I should to do ease my mind?

It's a very white city but I'm close to downtown where there's a healthy number of crackheads.

I guess my biggest fear is someone watching me ride it to my house and targeting me.

Has cycling gone too far? Does this surpass the recumbent and the Fliz in regards to usefulness, retardedness or Fredness? Is this the new Segway for those who prefer to stand AND want to tone the legs at the same time?

I was enjoying my morning commute when this dude basically dressed like pic related and on pic related, blew through a stop sign in front of me and made a left like his elliptical-having ass was being chased by the police. Never seeing this before, I nearly strained my neck watching this guy pump into the distance as fast as he could 'run'.

The fuck is going on here? Will these catch on? Have you ridden one?

Fucking segment chasers man. You see them all the time, kom's on 1.5k technicals and the odd climb but when you have a full lap they aren't even top 25.

Their killing their times by going full gas on one spot.

Strava terrorists. I am one myself. We ride to a segment slowly as a warmup, tactically crush it then go home.

>kills it on Strava
>can't actually race
This right here is a prime example of why I think Strava is lame: You have an entire crowd of riders who think they're 'racing' each other, but all they're doing is riding a bike. Actual road racing is an entire skillset and you can't acquire it riding by yourself all the time. The best these 'Cat-6' riders might be able to do is do time trials. Real road racing? Not likely. Do they even bother with fast group rides, even? Some of them, they may as well just have their bike on a stationary trainer in their living rooms, and be hooked up to that online riding game; you're just turning pedals, not even getting so much as bike handling experience. Hamsters on a wheel..

Real road racing >>> Strava. Every single time.

I want to build a single speed bike from scratch. Should I buy a regular cassette hub and use a single speed kit, or would a track hub be better? I've heard the rear wheel would be 'stronger', but is that really significant?
23 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Technically a dedicated single speed wheel will be better because it won't be dished. Whether that really matters is personal preference, if you have to ask probably not at all.

If you want any flexibility to use a cassette one day it's definitely worth it to just get a cassette hub. If you'll never ever want to do that consider a dedicated wheel build. Another small thing to mention - often freehub bodies running single speed conversions get grooves where the single cog sits.

This is exactly what my question was aimed at. How would that realistically manifest in driving/feel? I can't imagine this would be significant or noticeable at all, or would it?
>>
>>966167
by the way there are cogs with a wider surface to prevent cassette bite

I agree, licenses to cycle are necessary to avoid what happened. If they weren't on the road they wouldn't have been harmed.

Thought there might be some /n/ protips or something. I probably have to get new bars maybe... Idk. They're carbon and the tape is scraped off on side but I got them clearance and like the flat top they have for resting my hands on.
