it is possible to make a good romantic song that isn't cheesy uninspired moaning
the whole point of this song is seen in the ridiculous titanic-style video
Kate Bush was wasted in this.
Also Peter Gabriel's vocals are bland and he made some otherwise good Genesis albums dull.

God I hate these limpdick post-dadrock revival bands
What year are we in???
Does /mu/ like Streetlight Manifesto?
I do, at least
>>74798492
Yep, great band. It sucks that they have the "15 year old" status because their entire discography is fantastic.
>>74798557
Yeah, it's a shame they're categorized as Ska.. there's not really a lot of skanking and checked vans in SLM
How do I into Clapton?

skip him and try on his influences instead. worlds of difference between his shit and theirs
>>74798286
pretty accurate
>>74798498
How are they communists ?
In Ivy, is it "the start of nothing" or "it started from nothing"?
It started from nothing
the start of nothing. It's a pretty crucial lyric in the song

I went into this expecting it to sound like Early Swans or Coil and instead got some shitty cringe inducing Depeche Mode clone with lame vocals.
Okay.
ok
Trent has a whiny voice

Rate the album you are listening to right now out of 10 edition.
>Twenty Sixty Six and Then - Reflections on the Future
7/10
Really neat energetic Krautrock with some really great guitar work.

Well I'll rate the album I JUST finished
>GY!BE - Lift Your Skinny Fists
8/10
Classic spacey, dynamic crescendo-core though it was kinda giving me anxiety and I'm glad it's over. I was planning to binge more GY!BE but I need a break

I remember when we had that Sunn O))) marathon ages ago. Feels like throwing up after a few hours.

not listening to anything atm, tell you what tho: I listened to
>Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn
again last night, both the 1975 and the 2011 mix, and the original mix is still 10/10, while the newer one completely butchers the ending of the first part taking out all of the subtleties, so it's 8/10
Seapunk or Witch House?
Seapunk is just vaporwave for fags, anon
I say bish u alone

Sea house
I recently found a channel that lists all the samples that albums use, obviously mostly Hip-hop. I've watched a lot of the videos on Kanye West albums and he uses a lot of Gospel and (not sure if Im getting the genre right) afrobeat? Dancehall?
Anyway to get to the point I'm interested in the learning about the original artists. Are there any charts for Gospel or whatever the style of music Kanye tends to sample? Any stand out artists or groups I could start with?

V nice. Is this easy to find other than on youtube?
Looking for more like this and more of the upbeat stuff he samples
>>74798192
I don't think it's on any streaming services or anything like that. You'll definitely like pic related though if you haven't heard it yet.

Is there any /mu/-approved K (or J)-Pop out there, or (is/are) the genre(s) not worth my time?
K-pop and J-pop is pop trash taken to an entirely new level.

its hard to give recommendations for K/J pop because there's a lot of trash piled up on the good stuff. Its quite enjoyable once you get into it

And you guys still don't believe he's the greatest rock artist of all time
>>74797836
I do, the Boss is probably my all time favourite artist. Few other musicians could make consistently great records like he did in the 70's-80's
>>74797836
Fuck Bruce Springsteen. He's a fucking draft-dodging, tax evading, SJW, Billionaire-Democrat-while-pretending-to-be-and-pandering-to-the-rural-working-class, poser.
This guy is one of the most overrated people in all "dadrock" (which is really saying something). His songs all fucking sound the same and they're generic bland stadium rock meant for airplay in grocery stores in flyover states. He can't sing or play guitar to save his life and compensates by surrounding himself without actually decent musicans.
And his fanbase is the fucking worst, just obnoxiously toxic. They're a bunch of white, older dads and grampas who regret wasting their life away and convinced themselves that this hack is the greatest thing since sliced bread and will pick fights with anyone who disagrees.
I swear, Springsteen is mindboggingly shit and the cult around him only amplifies that.
Fuck him. On one hand I hope 2017 makes good work of him, but on the other hand, I know that would just cause even more inccessant blind praise of him among the general public and the younger generation who will have pretended to like him all along once it's the "hip" thing to do.
It sure is fitting that Pinhead Barry ended his last speech to this guy's muzak, though. That's for sure.
