not trying to be offensive but she is very cute!
I can't stand Grimes! She sounds nothing like my precious Hannah Montana! Or my precious Sia Montana. Or my precious Rihanna Montana. Or my precious Britney Montana. Or my precious...
She doesn't even have a diamond encrusted Disney microphone! What the fuck!
I'm going to hide in my safe space now so that evil Grimes can't hurt me with her different sounding pop music. REEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Is funk metal the least discussed subgenre here?
/metal/ is dead. You memers killed it. Every decent subgenre from metal has it's own general now, and hopefully it doesn't go down the same faith that /metal/ did.

Fuck off blackie scum
The point of these threads is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.

Ambient techno =/= ambient
Metal is doing just fine.
What band is the musical equivalent of The Room?
The Shaggs
his magic band
Probably the Shaggs, they're not good, but they're bad in a compelling way
Honest talk: why the fuck does /mu/ love this album so much?
The lyrics are godawful, the vocals are somehow even worse, and the instrumentation basically amounts to "just play random notes in a disorganized manner and let's see what sticks."
>inb4 "hurr durr prog lyrics and vocals are always shit"
If you say this, then the probability is overwhelming that the only prog band you have ever listened to is Yes.
Honestly, I'm not even trying to start shit, I just genuinely do not see why this album is so loved and hailed as prog's greatest masterpiece.
it has lots of notes
they want to feel sophisticated but don't want to listen to classical or jazz
prog is pretentious wank and anything good to come out of it was in spite, not because of any "" progressive"" elements
imo it's the album that reminds me the most of the intimacy of a classical chamber work.
Like the opening section with the billion notes flying at you is so bare and exposed that it feels like the music is about to fall apart; It reminds me a lot of Beethoven's Grosse Fuge, in character not content.
