Why the beatles are so popular these days here on /mu/?
>>74238365
>The greatest band ever is popular on /mu/
What do you expect?
Well, I think it's because John is a violent man who beat his wife.

Meme of the year
1969, the year rock music became a respectable art form.
>it aint me starts playing
>>74238361
Definently the best year for music.
>>74238414
>>74238361
Agreed.
Why does everyone on this board have such a similar taste? What's the point of even having a music board if you're not able to express different opinions and interests? Also pic related I guess.
>>74237859
makes it all that more special when someone posts something avant-garde relative to the board's interests
>>74237878
>Relevant to this boards interest
This is the problem. Why is it such a hive mind? Shouldn't the boards interest be music in general instead of specific artists and albums?
>>74237859
Snowball effect. Once a board's general taste is defined, it attracts people with similar tastes and repels everyone else. Sometimes I'll try making threads about blues or pre-1965 rock or something else the majority of /mu/ doesn't care about, but it'll die within a dozen posts so it feels pointless.
What was the first album you bought with your own money?
the best strokes album imo
Not the best of theirs but still pretty rizzidyrad
no regrets
Underrated.
The movie was better
>anything by the beatles
>underrated

Still not as underrated as Please Please Me
Alright, motherfuckers. I have a problem. I can't stop listening to rock music. I can't get into hip-hop. I listen to it a lot, but I don't appreciate it like hip-hop fans do. I'm into a lot of metal, and I guess hip-hop grooves and flows differently. Even Death Grips, my favorite hip-hop group, has rock undertones.
Someone give me some albums that will get me into it; also, a chronology, if that's convenient for you. Much appreciated.
>>74237775
Yung Lean - Warlord
Playboi Carti - Self-Titled
Lil Uzi Vert - The Perfect Luv Tape
>Also A Chronologically
I got just the thing!
However if you're looking for one artist that'll get you into it instantly: Jedi Mind Tricks.
WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP
Yoona loves you
Remember when /mu/ had good taste in women?
>>74237374
pic not related in the least bit
>>74237374
Most mu type girls are literally utterly average and totally unremarkable white girls that mu betas put on a pedestal because they're "indie" or whatever its so fixking stupid

It's kind of medicore if you ask me.....it sounds really uninspired.

I searched the catalog you faglords, no OPs with Arcade, or Everything in them. Get bent.

How did this go so mainstream /mu?
I'm not trying to be a pretentious hipster faggot here, this doesn't really sound like an album that would normally get so much mainstream attention. I find tons of stuff in a similar vein that are arguably better on bandcamp weekly. Why did this even get a grammy? It's a really good album but what's so special about it.
>>74237067
It's easy to relate with
Was probably largely due to the music press playing up the whole "le beardy men goes to cabin and pours his soul into album in solitude" meme narrative. It's also something that's really heavily romanticized by the "arty" white girls of the time, so it was really propped up by those types. The falsetto vocals and bare instrumentation makes it feel "unique" and "special" so people favor it over more traditional singer songwriter stuff, despite it not necessarily being better. Also >>74237105
Having said that, I think it's a good album. It's a shame his later stuff felt pretty weak to me.
>I find tons of stuff in a similar vein that are arguably better on bandcamp weekly.
Though I find this hard to believe. Most bandcamp stuff is not near that level, especially when it comes to folk type stuff.
skinny love is objectively a perfect song. the first 4 songs are a 10/10 streak though falls off a bit after that.
and score the album.
