Sam's Town is a pretty underrated indie rock album
Yeah, Hot Fuss is frontloaded as fuck and overall a 6/10 but the first half is great, like 8-9/10
ITT: Critically acclaimed bands that you don't like.

I'm not keen on REM, either. There are so many better pop bands.

There's this thing which got stuck in my head for a while. I saw some years ago a music video on yt and can't remember it for the love of god. It featured cartoon characters from a novel I think, there were these humans and human-cow hybrid with massive boobs because muh fertility. The setting was a rocket powered desert space island/spaceship. These characters were wandering through this desert with some kind of solar glider/ship. It had a very Dune vibe, and I believe Dune was also in the name of said song, even though it's not Herbert's Dune. The song was very Lone-y, in particular it was very similar to Moon Beam Harp. Can anyone help me?

I need depressing music for my hour long drive to work this morning. Slowly losing care for reality. Show me what you got.

is your commute along the freeway or just stuck in traffic? Cause in my experience, depression, sad music and mind-numbing straight roads do not mix. Night-time and alcohol for bonus points.
Pros: Depressing
Good Guitar
Good Emotion
Cons:

"Benji" by Sun Kil Moon has its share of sad moments and heartwarming moments. It's perfect for long drives.
What's your favourite RHCP song?
I like the one about California.
>>74262212
My favorite RHCP song is the one about drugs.
none
I like the one about him being talentless
What was the name of that neo-classical artist? I've been searching for him after hearing him a while ago. I somehow forgot his name but I remember he had something to do with a murder of crows? or keys? or nests? These words come in my mind when I try to remember, maybe it was the name of his album or one of his songs. I first saw him here on /mu/, pretty obscure music as far as I can remember. Lots of droney ambient violins and other wooden noises. Can anybody please help me?

i hope someone finds this desu im interested
just throwing out an idea, but perhaps it's max richter?
>>74262487
It was interesting, I'm really hoping somebody comes in here with an answer too, maybe the same anon who posted it before. Never heard of Max Richter, searched him up and it's pretty great too, but he's not who I'm thinking of. Definitely similiar, but too melodic.
VOCAL HARMONIES LMAO
YOU'RE FAGTARDED LMAO
What do you need to have (other than the instrument itself) to be able to write songs for a whole band (several instruments) on just the piano? This isn't so uncommon as I've read, people just write whole songs on the piano and then transcribe parts for other instruments? But how the fuck do you go about doing this?
>>74262112
Talent
>>74262139
Talent is a meme though. Hard work is key but those are just words with vague meanings.
>>74262112
Listen to lots of music that uses the instruments you are writing for, learn to play those parts on the piano and determine what makes parts written for that instrument different from others. Plus your probably not going to just be using the piano, you'll also be composing things in your head and transferring them to the piano to hear them realized. It can take some time, you wont get good at multi-part writing overnight. I would recommend using MIDI software to help with arrangements, like Anvil Studio or Finale or something, so you can hear all the instrument parts happening at once so you get a better idea of how it's going to sound.

1. It's not garbage. Your opinion is garbage
2. People don't pretend to enjoy this album, they actually like it. You can't because you're a pleb. Deal with it.
>>74261826
It's a great album, what the fuck are you on about
