What does /mu/ think of this track I just made in four minutes for my new band, industrial gaylords
>essential 'made on my computer desk with acoustic guitar and hitting desk with pencils and hitting beer cans with pencils'core
>also essential made with audacity-core
>mfw it's easily pop music in four thousand years and becomes a classic by tomorrow
It's genius because after the four hundredth listen you find the rhythm

>hurr durr, I'm so visionary I made a minute-and-a-half of harsh noize xD
seriously, I made this crap in 30 seconds and it sounds just like all harsh noise- shitty
This is good noise music
https://soundcloud.com/sirlancealot/kinski-and-acid-mothers-temple
It has ELEMENTS of noise, it's not just full on ear assault.
Keiji Haino does the same thing, mixes elements of noise with musicality.
>tfw I enjoyed this slightly
I have a feeling this isn't actually what noise sounds like
>Hardwax, RA-core
>techno, house, dubstep, garage, jungle, drum & bass, UK bass, etc.
>I'm new here where do I start?
Anywhere, check out Ishkur's guide to dance music, although it's biased
Simon Reynolds - Energy Flash is a recommended reading.
>Where do I get this music?
Legally:
Hardwax
Boomkat
Redeye
Juno
Discogs
>I'm poor
SoulseekQT
nodata
funkysouls
>I'm lazy and don't want to think for myself
ResidentAdvisor
Mixmag
Factmag
XLR8R
>Wow this is all very overwhelming how do I know what's what?
Discogs probably has the most extensive archive of every release ever. Most people like to discover more music by cataloguing labels on discogs and looking at where certain artists have released other stuff. Rateyourmusic is also a decent alternate option.

Feel free to contribute as well if you feel so inclined.

First wave punk-rock band from Jefferson Louisiana. This is a compilation of their early tracks and most of their discography. Really raw and lo-fi sound.

>I am white
>And I've got everything I need
>No one clutches their purses when they're in a room alone with me
>And I can drive through any neighborhood I please
>At any hour, and the police don't do a thing
>I'm a guy getting paid more than a girl with a degree
>And I can walk down the streets after dark
>No one wants to rape me
>And I can get a girl pregnant
>And just as easily flee
>Just like my straight white male dad did to me
My respect for this band just went through the roof.
They're kinda underrated on /mu/. I dig them. Seeing them in a couple weeks.
Yeah it's a great parody.
>>47215490
>parody
Parody of what? The lyics are satirical/sarcastic, yes, but it's not really a parody, per se
Other one is like completely dead. So how about a proper Bandcamp thread with a twist. Post your Bandcamp, but also talk about what inspired a specific track of yours/what is your track about?

The Things I Do For Love is about me wanting to mess around with girls, for sexual or appearance pleasures but at the same time, i want something real. In a way, its shameful that the things I do for love are like this. hence the title.
Coma is about me trying to get this girl to realize and notice how much I truly adore her, it's like she is sleeping in a state of a Coma, hence the title.

>'experimental electronic music'
http://terrenoiremusic.bandcamp.com/album/heaven-is-a-couch
What inspired this album is the creepy chatroom/game named "worlds". Heaven in the game worlds is literally a couch, but as of this year it is now closed, hence the song title "it's closed"

/mu/'s Bandcamp essentials.
Should anything else be added?
what's that flower album?
and are these only /mu/tants or can it be any bandcamper essential
I think you meant "Viral Essentials"

That flower album is ? Foliage ?'s 'Singles'

These are all /mu/tants except Suburban Skies (Third Row, Second Pic)
So, /mu/, I've basically been out of the musical loop for the past two years. I used to be all over the new releases and such, but I haven't been recently (especially in electronic music).
What are some really noteworthy electronic albums from the past two years?
Have you heard the new Boards of Canada yet?
Maybe the recent Bleep10 and Hyperdub 10.1 compilations would be a good place to find out what's been going on recently.
>>47194203
Yeah, I've heard the new Boards of Canada,
Basically, Immunity and Tomorrow's Harvest are the only recent electronic releases I've listened to. I know there has to be some really good shit you guys know about!
>>47194225
What sort of things do you like?
My absolute favourites from the past couple of years are:
>Ceephax acid crew - cro magnox
>Holden - The Inheritors
>Machinedrum - Vapour City
>Bibio - Silver Wilkinson
The Ceephax and Holden are the best things they've done imo, but if you haven't heard any bibio or machinedrum I'd start with Ambivalence Avenue (2009) and Room(s) (2011) respectively.
Serious question: is there another hip-hop artist who composes beats anywhere near Kanye's level?
Young Chop
Madlib is beyond Kanye's level
>>47189572
Pete Rock, Madlib, Q-Tip, J Dilla, RZA, El-P, DJ Premier to name a few. All better than Kanye imo.
The weekend has landed. All that exists now is clubs, drugs, pubs and parties. I've got 48 hours off from the world, man. I'm gonna blow steam out my head like a screaming kettle, I'm gonna talk cod shit to strangers all night, I'm gonna lose the plot on the dancefloor. The free radicals inside me are freakin', man! Tonight I'm Jip Travolta, I'm Peter Popper, I'm going to never-never land with my chosen family, man. We're gonna get more spaced out than Neil Armstrong ever did, anything could happen tonight, you know? This could be the best night of my life. I've got 73 quid in my back burner - I'm gonna wax the lot, man! The Milky Bars are on me! Yeah!
daily reminder that actress is incredibly overated and if you're at all impressed by anything he's done you seriously need to go back and listen to warp/mille plateaux/raster noton/mego 90s discographies, hopefully then you'll learn realise actress is the epitome of a talentless hack

I havent listened to actress but people said the same thing to me about aphex twin and boards of canada. 5 years later I still love them
Pop Punk is the future of Punk, both artistically and commercially. Discuss.
Uhhhh. Post-Punk was the PAST of punk. Now it's just kind of a relic. Like punk.
>>47087729
hah i get it it's cobain.
commercially, yes. artistically, god no. I would gladly read whatever justification you have to pull out your ass for that though.
The Refused had the right idea, and that is why punk is essentially over apart from the underground treading water.

but OP DIIV is well known and obvious
