There really isn't much more to tell, since I was planning on letting you guys decide on their appearances. I just had some conceptual stuff jotted down. They're all close to the same age, but not triplets. Maybe the younger ones are twins, but I didn't give too much thought to such specifics. The oldest takes after Gulliver, while the second takes after Dusty, but in a kind of subverted way: very dedicated to finding solutions to problems and making them work, but too dim to usually find the RIGHT solutions. The littlest one is probably the smartest, but due to being the baby is also very insecure and sometimes can be moody or snobby as a way of compensating.

I extrapolate those traits from a concept piece I never finished months ago where they were all foals; one of them was trying to eat a throw pillow, one was stacking blocks, and the last one was trying to figure out why a toy helicopter wouldn't fly when thrown in the air. So make of this post what you will.

So Captain's CYOA starts with a really heavy dramatic flashback before there's time to settle into the character. Does it continue defining the character by this apparent tragedy that has no weight on the reader via constant breakdowns (anger and or sadness) or does the character settle into something more than his tragedy?

As for Captains I would say it is a progression. At first because it was fresh in the mcs mind and he was frustrated with his situation it was set off easily, then it started to be things that made sense (my favourite was the bit with the eyes) before settling into no longer breaking down.

Right, but if the players are encouraging it and the QM is already prone to it it gets obnoxious. In the past players have been a moderating influence because heavy handed bad writing gets negative responses, so QM is are less likely to do it. But if the people that wanted to hold commit suicide for 'characterization' in DeltaP are playing Captain's CYOA, they'll encourage it past what the QM probably would. So him bringing up 'player prompted' stupid events implies worse than a heavy handed QM would.

Players can make a CYOA better or worse with how they encourage their QM to write.

I have something to say, something to say about Inept.

Inept is amazing

In the last thread, she mentioned that the players ignored or ran away from 90% of the plot hooks in FiT. That wasn't an exaggeration, it was always blatantly obvious.

Maybe it was the usual player cowardice, maybe it was passive aggressiveness. Maybe, just maybe, it was because we were excited to see what she would come up with next, but it was probably the first two.

Whatever the reason, the fact that she managed to roll with it and still make a really enjoyable quest, with developed characters and a mostly coherent narrative is pretty damn impressive. She's become a total pro at this. I'm sure a lot of us already get that, just felt like saying it.

Vine, the children and the drones would die right away, as would the pets if we count them, the ai don't even have a body to fight with so they are right out.

It comes down to Rust Bucket, Eagle and Fedot. Eagle has the military training but she does not have anything with enough punch to really deal any damage, Fedot has experience fighting large creatures and a fuckhuge gun that could hurt her in a small area. Both would still die if hit even once. I think Fedot would wound her and then get taken out soon after.
So it comes down to Rust. I think if he could prove a good enough climber he can do it. Nigaa runs at 60 MPH so he could probably avoid many attacks and is possibly though enough to tank one but most likely not. However his weapons would not be enough I feel. So it ultimately comes down to can he successfully climb to her head. the answer is probably not.

I don't think I've ever mentioned this, and have just been kind of passively writing AHP with this in mind, but all the poners in the past are larger than modern equestrians, needing the size and strength to be ready for war at a moments notice.
Most stallions are about 1.5 times the height of Big Mac, and most mares are roughly the size of Big Mac.
Orich, Gilded Lily and Goldheart are currently the only pones with major height differences, Lily being the size of a stallion, Orich being roughly the size of Troubleshoes, and Goldheart being slightly shorter in stature than the average modern Equestrian mare.

Ponies during the era in Entrapment were shorter than modern ponies. During that era Nadine was considered big, measuring up to about 3 foot 1 I think (heights are measured to the top of the head with all 4 hooves on the ground) Spearmint is a bit short since she's still a physically young mare about 17 to 19, as such she measures up to about 2 foot 10ish while P'bers is like 2'11" Maximillian was like 3 foot 5 because he was just oddly big. And file is a solid 3 foot. Tyra is a bit taller than File, Like 3 foot 3... I don't know. These numbers are subject to change though wich pone is bigger is not.
