it's perfectly acceptable in RGRE fics for mares to actually be weaker than stallions. the only requirement for the stories is that the gender ROLES are reversed, not the biology as well. it would be reasonable for stallions to still be the stronger of the two sexes, but the cultural evolution of the pony species still requires that the stallions be protected by the mares.
in fact, you see it all the time in RGRE fics where mares admire specifically masculine things like muscles, defined chins, and broad shoulder/withers.

I can tell you didn't bother to read further up the post chain here, because that anon was talking about the prey species tendencies to have lots of children and accept the death of a few of them if it means the rest of them can escape. if anything, in RGREquestria, stallions would fit the idea of being demure, delicate of sensibility, and soft most of the time, but turning into a raging ball of flesh and pain if someone were to hurt one of their foals.

I disagree. Writing every story as "Anon walks into the different gender roles and gets tricked" can only take you so far. I still like those stories, but I see no reason to not also have stories that take place where everyone is fully aware of their place. It just tells how those natives handle it, instead of an outsiders learning it.

For instance, and that is a quick off the top of my head example, if you have a scene where Celestia has to listen to a petitioning stallion noble in her court, but instead of focusing on what he has to say just thinks about how much better that tongue of his would be off working her marevag, does that suffer from not having an outsider character?
