What do you expect, the Mecha board is mostly going to talk about the stuff he made that was, you know, Mecha.
We could get away with talking about Taro and Majuu Sensen as well, but most people here haven't read them (I only just downloaded Majuu Sensen tonight).

I'll be honest: I'm not a fan of his art.
His early work just screamed Go Nagai ripoff, which was pretty justified but still made everything look incredibly deritative. And even after developing his own style eventually, when he's drawing giant monstrous things he's pretty great, but his humans are terrible.

Those segments with them making jokes on the opening sequence were the best parts due to weird slapstick. Not a case of "too japanese for me" like Joshiraku but a lot of the humour was related to puns and such.

I think it's simpler than that. I think she simply knew Uso as a casual acquaintance at first and had some interest in how he was treated/being used.

Until she fell for Cronicle and became a victim off Zanscare's propaganda. When she began to believe in female superiority, she stopped caring about Uso and only saw him as a pest getting in the way of her own goals. As he kept getting in her way, she began to hate him more and more until she finally tried to kill him. He was no longer a cute little victim being used by the LM, but a truly dangerous threat who could ruin everything she hoped to achieve.

In short, she pretty much did become a radicalized feminist.

Field Repair

Basically what this means is that rather than the mobile suit being fresh out of a factory, it's quite the opposite. Whether it's trudging through dense jungles or dodging debris in asteroid belts, your mobile suit has seen some better days.
You've been out in the field for quite a long time now, nearly half a year of active duty in the front lines and your personal mobile suit's pretty banged up. What's worse is the fact that there isn't a maintenance bay within several thousand kilometers of your local area that's capable of making any major repairs. Your unit's engineering crew has resorted to patch work and jury-rigging to keep your machine operational. Stray fire might have crippled its legs and arms or otherwise dealt considerable damage to a mobile suit's systems meanwhile some units have simply lost bits of armor and panels to the elements and have been forced to patch weld metal sheets over the exposed inner workings.
In any case it's beaten to hell but somehow you and your team have somehow kept it chugging along and now command's ordered all units operating in your theatre to fall back to form a defensive line against the enemy offensive.

Is the HG Red Weapons Set compatible with IBO kits (specifically the Barbatos backpack)?

No, or at least not withoug a third part like the arms from something like the battle arms set. It can hold the weapons, but the swing arms it comes with don't connect to barbatos (they don't really connect to anything but red warrior's backpack, which feels like a design oversight for a weapon pack) and barbatos's swing arms don't connect to the weapons.

With some exceptions, mecha in western sci-fi is pretty much limited to military sci-fi (thus the limited color palettes) Really in the sense of "walking piloted vehicle" mecha is rare in western sci-fi to begin with. There's a pretty long tradition of power armor showing up in miliatry sci-fi but outside of stuff like 40k the designs tend towards a more utilitarian aesthetic rather than a fantastical one.

In general you see a lot more focus on ships and fighters in western franchises.
