So, Guren no Tsuki is halfway into its run. Does anyone really have any high hopes for the 2nd half? I think it's fairly safe to say that so far this has been by far the weakest entry in the series.

Just from the new armor model it looks like one of GnT's most glaring flaws is getting more or less remedied, but I'm still not really feeling any tension or hype from the plot or the action.

Douman still seems like he has absolutely zero depth or goal or really anything at all to say or do other than "muh darkness" and even with his "mid-series first real conflict" with Raikou this episode, he doesn't seem particularly interesting or threatening as a "force" either. Every single other antagonist before him has had more presence both as a character and as a threat by this point. Even Kiba and Eiris, who weren't really even there until the last little bit of their series, at least had a little bit of lore around them to make them seem impressive.

And none of the main cast seems particularly bothered with stopping him, either. Even after his big slaughter this week, neither Raikou nor Seimei seemed to care at all about what he did, other than Raikou being mad at Seimei for letting people die.

It feels like nothing has happened in the past 13 episodes other than Yasusuke leaving the capital then coming back to become a Knight.

I'm sure it will get better once the writer changeover happens and we get a model that isn't garbage, but right now I can't see myself saying GnT is better than anything else.

I want to say Yamitera is still worse but Yamitera's last 5 or so episodes were really strong so who knows. I will say that Guren no Tsuki has by far the worst action scenes of any season of Garo.

Doughman is a pretty lame villain, his master seems like a far more interesting character than him to the point where I'm starting to wonder if it's intentional on the shows part.

Yasusuke is pretty much the only member of the main cast I really like so far. Everybody else is just kind of okay.

Atleast the OST is still god tier

Yamitera got it's shit together in the second half in general, to the point I enjoyed the hell out of it after slogging through the first half.

Why don't you just watch old WWII footage if you want realistic?

The closest things to 'realistic' that I can think of are the mechs in Gasaraki and even then they need alien demon zombie ghosts to make them work.

00 is probably my favorite AU, if not favorite overall. I'd give it another chance. Build Fighters was awesome, assuming you can enjoy something that's silly and fun and doesn't try to push the "War is hell" narrative. Build Fighters Try was significantly less so. Either stay away from AGE, or drop it after the first half. When the story transitions to the Kio arc, it goes to shit.

Not a show, but the Wonderful 101 does. Metal Gear as well in Solid Snake and Raiden's part of the timeline.

Few anime series are like this though. I suppose something like Gurren Lagann counts, even though it clearly began as a mecha show, simply because they kept adding both more mechs and more elements of mecha shows.

Here, no one really cared. The show had become a bad meme on this board, ("stick to A/Z") long before it ended. /a/ had some pretty mad slaine fags though who cares about /a/. What I really remember most of all the shit posting about it before it aired. People saying Gundam would be surpassed by it, and a bunch of other crap because Urobutchi was somewhere in the credits.

Overworld. I've been grinding since 12/20, trying to get all of my main suits up to level 30.

I'm guessing level 30 is more than enough to handle the Hell stages, yes?

I used to say G Gen F, but when I went back and played it again, I found it really hard and grind heavy. That said, in terms of the variety of content and combat system, F still is the best overall. World is a very close second.

While I like the game play of F much more than later games, I can't help but say spirits is my absolute favorite of the entire series due to the sheer amount of side story content and attention to detail with it's soundtrack and voice acting.

I enjoyed the Wars/World/Overworld line of games, but felt the Generation Break system started to become a tad bit gimmicky as times went on, though it's animation quality and content is highly impressive.

Can't stand G Generation Seed or Neo, just to slow and droll to play though, though I have to respect them for trying to go fully 3D, though the effect left much to be desired.

The Original for the PS1 is a good history piece to see where the series started, but a general nightmare to replay in full again.

I have hope for Genesis if it intends to emulate what Spirits had gone for, though the lack of events post 0096 is highly disappointing. Hopefully we will get full renditions of other side stories we did not get to see in Spirits though, like a complete rendition of Zeonic Fronts Story, A full rewrite of Missing Links absolute train wreck of a plot, 0081 and even Sentinel getting a legitimate campaign again. Hell even Thunderbolt and Gundam the Origin would be welcome, though I doubt those two will find a place in it.

Never say never. I'm sure that Luurah or Starseeker will pick it up some years down the road. Besides, it's simpler to learn Italian in the meantime (because that country is too lucky with such shows).
