What can I eat to get gains if I'm poor as fuck? I'm a 6'1" 140lbs lanky shit and I started going to the gym but I need to improve my diet.

Not sure how much it'll cost you there, but there's a bulking shake I make to pack up calories. I just mix 300ml of milk with peanut butter, protein, 1 or 2 bananas, two or three spoons of coconut oil and a string of olive oil. It tastes pretty ok, specially if I put two bananas. It works well with chocolate whey, too.
What works for me is packing a lot of calories in one single drink.

Anyway try eating 2 softboiled eggs between meals, twice a day if possible anon. You can buy 30 for 50/60 pesos in most groceries (if you don't live in BA probably cheaper even). If you get sick of eggs with crackers or whatever you're eating them with try mixing them with boiled lentils.
Bananas are probably the best fruit for bulking and pretty cheap so you might have to suck it up, I wasn't a huge fan of eggs but I learnt to deal with it.
Also if you buy chicken or milanesas on bulk, they're not expensive. Best option for meat.
Try to eat protein heavy food like the above for dinner or at least after your workout. For lunch you should eat more calorie heavy food.
I recommend two big dishes of pasta or even better but more expensive is rice and tuna (add canned corn or tomato if you can).
Remember to always eat until you feel full and then eat some more. Good luck anon.
