It's a Saturday night, but not just any Saturday night, it's New Years, people are out getting drunk, partying, taking drugs, and having sex, and you're being a le epic trole on 4chan, and doing it with your trip off. How sad and lonely are you that you have to seek attention by tripfagging in /arg/ and posting shitty bait in /akg/? Do you have any friends that you hang out with in real life?

Found this for $450. Century Arms imported Zastava N-Pap with the polymer thumbhole stock. Is it worth it? It isn't the slant cut receiver so replacing the thumbhole shouldn't be too hard, right? I have a soft spot for Serbia so that might be blinding me.

I'd really like to pay closer to $20 for decent Bulgarian polymers or Russian plums/bakelites, so long as they aren't steel, pmags or those fake bakes that suck I'm fine with the differing appearances, I'm just sick of paying near $30/mag when there are so many surplus floating around

I had one of these when i was 16, it was my first AK. Mine was the calicucked version though. It was balls accurate though i will say, only had the 10 round mag for it but i did kill hella squirrels and my first deer with it. Overall a decent AK.

If you shop ak files market place you can get them pretty cheap, especially bulgarians. 20-25$ a mag . I doubt the will drop below 20$ unless they open the floodgates of surplus from russia and like country. Every once in a while retailers have good deals too, id be patient and wait for good deals to come up and buy in bulk .

I'm not too bad, but what have we got to lose? Either everything remains the same with great Bulgarian AKs and great VEPRs and solid yet slightly expensive currently WASRs, or we gain a whole bunch of new imports from Russia.

If it happens it's awesome, if it doesn't where the same as we currently are which while it could be better it isn't as bad in reality as we keep making it out to be as long as we still have Bulgarian imports and as long as we can keep what imports we do have, which with Trump in office I don't see us losing any imports at least.

The conversions are guns built a military factory, Cugir for the WASR and Zastava for the M70 PAP rifles, and converted once imported to America by Century. The kit builds are parts kits assembled on American receivers with American barrels by Century. Do you know what a parts kit is?

More weight, less aftermarket, all for no gain whatsoever.

To be perfectly honest, a milled receiver will outlast a stamped...the issue is, once you've reached that point, you've replaced every other component, including the barrel, several times over.

What will they say? There is a big reason to use milled as a manufacturer and that is it's cheaper to get milling equipment set up than setting up to produce stampings. This is why you have a lot of the fly by night AK manufacturers in the US producing milled receiver guns.

>So your milled AK's don't suffer the same failures as stamped and last longer between failures is that correct?
>Yes sir. We have yet to lose a milled receiver.
what exactly are you wanting?
>>
>>32505139
Nothing. The failures of the bolt carrier rails (I assume, otherwise I have no idea what he's talking about) could be because of poor welding, which is something that plagued the AK in the Type I. Cracks in the trunnions could be forging or casting defects not seen by QA. The Zastava rifles could have defects caused by improper heat treating. This is of course assuming they are straight from the manufacturer and not the modified receivers of automatic weapons.

Much like the AR, the receiver in the AK is not a stressed member and as such isn't subjected to extreme force. All it really does hold the parts in alignment. Failures would almost certainly be due to manufacturing/design defects. Stamping has nothing to do with it.

>Obama's EO on the ban of 7n6
>EO
It was a reinterpretation of the AP handgun ammo ban, there's nothing about an EO to overturn.
Now, since there's no commercially available 5.45x39 handgun, it should be overturned but I wouldn't hold my breath.

it was an SKS-M

neat thing that took AK magazines from the factory, made for the American commercial market, most of them came with surprisingly decent stocks instead of that thumbhole turd

I want

I do like thumbhole stocks though, why the hate?

There are probably good ones, but that particular kind is about as ergonomic as a two by four. Why bother when you can get a decent Monte Carlo stock, pic related

Well shit, thanks though, do they still sell them?
>>

it's yours?

what the fuck happened to it?

anyway all markings are on the left side of the receiver spanning from magazine to trigger group

serial format XX XXXXX where the first two numbers are the year of manufacture.

Also it prefers lounging around in dresses and wearing ladies underpants at all times.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure you could get a decent AK for the prices they're going for nowadays.

Nice find! I wonder what the story there is.
Is it even possible to salvage a gun that far gone?

I'm not so sure you want to use WD-40 on it. I'd YouTube a video first on removing rust off a firearm.

It was a comercial SKS that took ak mags. I had one it wasn't a bad gun but mag changes were slightly awkward and I had an AK so yea

I'm guessing it was found out in the woods, and I'm also guessing the original owner either offed themselves with it, went hunting and lost it, or went hunting and got eaten by wildlife.

Not too keen on how to grade the dimples over here. I was pretty much happy with the riveting and lack of cant from Arsenal. Plus seeing how I picked it up in February with the plum furniture from factory was great.
Here's a better look fellas

I have put 2kish through it. With about 3/4ths being steel cases Tula. Ive only had a single failure to eject. So to me it's been very reliable. I'll take those numbers any day. I actually think that if I would pick up another tp9 it'd be a SA. I've showed plenty of people the decocker and it seems like unless your deliberately pushing down on both sides it's not going to decock. I don't use it all the time but it's nice to have if I want to hand a loaded pistol to someone new.
>>

>>32508027
I've put about 400 rounds through mine, still no failures of any flavor. I don't really care about the decocker I just liked the aesthetics of SF more and Xcess is getting some SF only sights sometime this year that I am probably going to get. I was thinking about getting the Elite for carry but I've been hearing about FTE issues with it, shame.
