I was at the dentist with my kid, in Florida. They ripped me off, so I wasn't very happy, and eager to get out, which would have been fine. If... There weren't another dad there who was sitting in the waiting room across from me WHILE OPENLY FUCKING PRINTING INSIDE OF A PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY.
So /k/, what are your thoughts on this sort of thing. I am waiting on my CC to be approved, and from what i've been told, if you can't conceal correctly, then you are open carrying, which is illegal in this situation here.

Looking for suggestions for a watch for my girlfriend who is leaving for Coast Guard boot camp in July.
My requirements are as follows:
Must be waterproof to 100m (Yes this is excessive, but I've found 50m fails even with swimming casually for extended periods)
Must have a band that either is metal and won't rust, or is nylon and will dry naturally
Must be analog (Digital watches are ugly, and seem cheap)
Must be $100-$200
Must not be G-Shock
Must be from a well known watch company (ex. Seiko)

What about Quartz vs. Auto?
I really like my Seiko SKX173, which is a legit dive watch, won't look giant on a girl, and is very rugged and reliable. It's an automatic and not a quartz, though, which means it's not the most accurate thing in the world and it will run out of power and have to be reset if it's not worn for a day or two.

Looking for a home defense gun here in CO. I would've liked to get a handgun, but since I'm not a CO resident, can't change for other reasons, and don't want to drive to the east coast just to pick up a gun, my options are limited to long guns here.
I'm considering an AR-15 because of its popularity and the fact that it's just a well-loved gun, but I really have no experience with long guns. Budget ~$700. Any recommendations, /k/?

If $700 total I would recommend a Hipoint carbine in your preferred caliber (9, 40 or 45).
It seems like you're on a budget so I would suggest 9mm because it's cheaper than the other calibers.
The rifle may be ugly as hell but they'll work.

what is the point of owning a chest rig as a civilian?
>can't wear it outside in the city without looking like a mall ninja
>can't wear it in the country without looking like a deranged militant
>already have access to gear inside the house
>most prepper sources don't recommend chest looking too tactical in a bug out situation because it draws too much attention
My feeling is that it looks cool, but it's basically playing dress up.
I want to own one of these because I am a giant faggot but I am having a hard time justifying the purchase of a chest rig over other equipment that I could get like more guns or holsters/battle belt etc.
The only reason I can imagine getting one is if I joined my state's militia (Georgia State Defense Force). Even then, I would be getting it as military gear not as civilian gear (even though GSDF only does search and rescue missions, some people wear it to have access to more inventory). Three gun competitions/ idpa might be an option, but a purpose built battle belt might be better for that.
So /k/, is there a reason for a civilian to own a chest rig?
