An Automatic Rifle is far better at sustained automatic fire than a normal assault rifle (much heavier barrel, etc,) but without being as heavy and balky as a true LMG that requires a belt feed. Much like the soviet RPK.

Ironic, after years of trashing the BAR as an insufficient LMG, they're returning to the concept.

its a german made k98, captured by norwegians after the war. rechambered to 7.62 nato, used by the army as standard rifle, then some of those were accurized and there you have the nm149. they run german made recievers from before 1942. and were norwegian armys main sniper rifle untill 2013

In a way it's even a good thing, because it lets you shoot your gun without wearing out historic furniture.
