Updated map: Finished identifying (not creating) flags for the NE. Seals are definitely increasing the spread. Other than Massachusetts which has already been done, the areas highlighted in green have seals which can be used for flags. Areas in red are, unfortunately, doomed. It's natural selection anyway considering most the areas only have a couple thousand people.

I think I applied /flag/tism in real life today when I witnessed a regional fleg around here for the first time ever, with a Prague flag on the Municipal House (pic). Quite surprised me 2bh.

Funny enough, I also have German heritage. There's a branch of my family - the Hensels - who were born in Baden. They apparently settled in upstate New York before moving with their children to Kansas, they died there. Their son and his wife (some rich girl from Maine of English parents who owned a shipping business, she somehow ended up in Kansas) then moved to Ouray, Colorado due to a mineral strike.
