If this isn't overwhelming evidence that greater extraterrestrial beings exist, I don't know what is. I mean just look at the scene on the article, there's a thing that even looks like one of those pizzaships from Star Wars.

Thousands of medieval Germans were literally watching a space battle unfold, with their very own eyes! How do you explain this, /his/?!

Not related but...
>Jung expressed a view that the spectacle was likely a natural phenomenon with religious and military interpretations overlaying it. “If the Ufos were living organisms, one would think of a swarm of insects rising with the sun, not to fight one another but to mate and celebrate the marriage flight.” A military interpretation would view the tubes as cannons and the spheres as cannonballs, emphasize the black spearhead at the bottom of the scene, and Glaser’s own testimony that the globes fought vehemently until exhausted. A religious view would emphasize the crosses. Jung thinks the images of four globes coupled by lines suggested crossed marriage quaternities and forms the model for “the primitive cross cousin marriage.” It could also be an individuation symbol. The association of sunrise suggests “the revelation of the light.”[11]
How does anyone take this tripe seriously?

Do christians still believe in hell?
Like, not as a metaphor, a literal hell where souls suffer for all eternity?

some of them do, some of them don't
>>
>>3132780
It's not that easy
Everyone except saints goes to hell, but it's a prison in which you wait for the day of judgment
Christians get saved by judgment thanks to Christ
Other people may get saved too if they followed The Law
The sinners get destroyed in the lake of fire
Some Christians believe that even sinners may have a second chance during the millennium kingdom though
>>
>>3132844
are you talking about purgatory?
pretty sure hell is for all eternity

How do I help rid myself of bias?

When consuming WW2 media I find myself unfairly leaning towards the Axis and it really interferes with my enjoyment of learning about events of that period.

Read up more on the faults of Axis military (logistics, supply lines etc.)
I presume you're biased because you hear nothing but good about the Axis, I was sort of the same. But reading up more on their faults made me more objective on WW2 in general.
Pic related to start with, German casualties in the beginning of Barbarossa.
>>
>>3132594
Oh I've done years of research on the axis and did a few uni courses alongside my main study. I know all about their corrupt leadership, inefficiencies, cruelty and the plenty of ways in which they were just plain inferior. I could write a reasonably objective essay on them, but I would always be rooting for them in the back of my mind.

Just to make it clear I don't agree at all with the ideology. I think I just find the idea of a 'smaller' alliance fighting against the world to be very daring, exciting and perhaps even romantic.

What can /his/ tell me about imperialism in China and how different powers acted with China.

Largely came from Japan like the 22 demands and Manchukuo. Plenty of concessions and territories remained like Tianjin, Hong Kong, Macau and that French one in south China which I forget the name of
>>
>>3132458
Fun fact: nobody wanted to take over all of China. Just strongarm them into trade deals. The game of Imperialism changed in the mid 1800s, it wasn't about taking over random bits of land anymore.

In fact one of the nightmares of the European (mostly British, French, and Russian) powers was the breakup of China. They feared that such would result in a free for among the European powers. Which is why the Whitenigs kept the Qingz weak but propped up. At the same moment they're demanding concessions they were also helping the Emperors versus revolts in his realm.

The balance in China was upset by the arrival of two colonial powers: Japan and Germany, who were autists out to do to China what Britain did to India. Much of the late 19th century therefore was the imperialist powers cockblocking Japan and Germany (more on Japan really) attempts to gain footholds into China. There were quite a few moments when WWI couldve easily started over China as it did over Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assassination.

When China did breakup, the Europeans were thankfully in a war amongst themselves.
>>
>>3132504
I do really wonder how China would have went had the 22 demands succeeded and weren't blocked by Britain and America.

(1) There can be no “proper history” which is not at the same time “philosophy of history”
(2) The possible modes of historiography are the same as the possible modes of speculative philosophy of history
(3) These modes, in turn, are in reality formalizations of poetic insights that analytically precede them and that sanction the particular theories used to give historical accounts the aspect of an “explanation.
(4) There are no apodictically certain theoretical grounds on which one can legitimately claim an authority for any one of the modes over the others as being more “realistic.”
(5) As a consequence of this, we are indentured to a choice among contending interpretive strategies in any effort to reflect on history-in-general.
(6) s a corollary of this, the best grounds for choosing one perspective rather than another are ultimately aesthetic or moral rather than epistemological.
(7) The demands for scientization of history represents only the statement for a specific modality of historical conceptualization, the grounds of which are either moral or aesthetic, but the epistemological justification of which still remains to be established.
