The point of noble bloodlines is to have a select few people to impose "moral" rules on themselves and then promote these ideas to the rest of their tribe, culture, or whatever. It these rules that generally improve the collective, and help sustain it for as long as possible. It usually easy to influence these ideals on your family members rather than some random bugger and that's why it usually ends up being family with some reliable/powerful "friends."
