Why do internet nazis dislike enlightenment values?
Cathedralism
>>2823863
Because Nazism is an evolution of 19th century Romanticism, which originally was a reaction to the Enlightenment.

could you expand on this?
>King of Armenia offers you 10,000 men to help you invade Parthia

I presume it would've cost money to pay them or, assuming if they were offered for free, Crassus was afraid that he would have to share the spoils with more people.

This of course is to legitimize Black Hebrew Israelite belief that the KJV Bible is legitimate.
I just tell them he's the biggest homo in English monarchy and they flip.

You guys are laughing but I know people who unironically believe this shit and i'm in Seattle. They don't call it Seattle though, they refer to it as Morocco. They never call any of the main US cities by their real name, but rather substitute it with some African country. The shit is hilarious. There's even white people who join them trying to tell black people they are the real Jews.

Which period of American history had the best conditions for average American workers?
>>2823467
Pre-industrial late colonial / post-revolution America by far. Workers were usually lazy apprentice fucks that didn't show up to work half the time. Sometimes they would disappear for weeks. They also typically lived with their teacher's family and ate their food. Even still those apprentices went on to become masters at their craft and didn't even need to make things often to maintain a decent standard of living.
However, take this with a grain of salt considering this level of laziness in the general working population meant that when shit needed to get done it typically didn't. There's reasons that the Continental Army of the revolution was always in short supply and it wasn't just because America was poor without Britain's support. The quality of life for all suffered as a result of the overall laziness of the workers.
Also consider that during this period things like shelter and food were considered things you acquired for yourself for the most part. If you did not live in a city you likely grew your own food/traded what you made for it and made very likely made your own house by squatting on some land in the frontier.

Is there any good reading for the actual philosophy behind fascism? I've heard of Italian Fascism and the falangistas being influenced by futurism and other pretentious movements, but I never actually have heard of any real fascist intelligentsia. Where should I start to actually understand the context behind 20th century fascism?
You're aware Mussolini wrote an essay on the doctrine of fascism, right? Have you thought about starting there?
Mussolini never actually had an ideology, he just had rhetoric. Fascism is more about political rhetoric than it is strictly about an underlying philosophy.
There really weren't many fascist thinkers coming up with fascist ideas and fascist philosophies - well, there were, just not in the way you're asking. Its more of a term to describe a certain type of political movement and governance.
I'm sure you can find certain thinkers who were influential among fascists, but that's about it. Those are easy to find too. The ancient Spartans were a known source of inspiration, for example. Some of Hegel's ideas on the state were influential too. But again, it's hard to classify either of these things as "fascist".
Fascism is socialism for people who hate the shit out of communism

This is unquestionably true.
Let's have a language thread /his/.
Can you give reasons to learn Russian, Hindi or Mandarin?
I've been meaning to learn a language from a new culture for a while now, and I'd rather learn one that is at least somewhat relevant.
Mandarin is obviously more useful, but I wanted to know if you could provide some reasons to dabble on any of the other two.
Russian is in the way of decline while being very appealing aestheticaly/phonetically, while Hindi is almost completely redundant with English despite having a fuck-ton of native speakers and being the most exotic.
I already know French, Spanish and Japanese.
>>2822549
i'd do Hindi since Russia and china have measures to curb their population growth
India on the other hand will do no such thing and we will see many many migrants in the future
True usefulness is access to knowledge not available to non-speakers. Which is most found in languages not "relevant" in your opinion but in the "relevant" ones too sometimes.
Learn Korean so you can make the trip from Japan to the Best one and speak to everyone. Then everyone will want to hear about it directly from you.
>>2822549
I'm going to be taking a lot of trips internationally for some student UN stuff and was told everyone at the conferences already know English, which I think is pretty interesting. The delegate that was speaking told me "English was the language of diplomacy". I still want to learn how to speak the languages of the countries accompanying us however I want to understand how it is the English language came to have that responsibility. I already know that Europeans and Asian countries have a good amount of respect for learning other cultures, and that it's typical to learn their languages.
After reading some Chekov I got the impression that in certain social sects, knowing more than one language gave off the impression that the speaker was more intelligent or refined.
How in the flying fuck is this art? It's just a fucking soup can.
>>2822548
I think its an excellent representation of the Armenian genocide
you can really feel the message the artist was trying to impart and I'm glad I was part of the experience
yeah but the design is impeccable...instantly recognizable and it makes people talk too, hell you're talking about it right now

some of it started because of taxation on the farms that the farmers couldn't handle while the nobility were being left alone and lived off the taxes of the poorer. The nation demanded the government does something about it so they finally mobilize intellectuals and well-read dudes from around the country to form a national council but this assembly was divided between 3 estates, creativelly named the first, second, and third estate (which i can barely remember i think it was commoner, clergy or middle class, and nobility). The peasants got angrier because instead of being represented as they should in the assembly's vote they only had a third the power of the nation (the other two belonging to the other estates).
After some bullshit there were educated men of the assembly and some clergy who decided to make their own damn meeting with black jack and hookers in a tenis court where they pledged not to give up or divide until their plight is over.
fastforward a bit and hungry women are marching to the king's palace with some dudes who decapitated some swiss guys standing at the gates, the royal family was running around a bit and wanted to flee to the protection of the powerfull Habsburg army but ended up staying in France instead and then got their hair cut a little too short along with anyone who literally coughed too loud. They emptied prisons by executing the entire inmate population, drowned entire boats full of people for fun, shot grape-shot into crowds and the rest is history.

Are we really going to sit here and ignore the fact that the U.S. is a complete mirror of Rome?
Rome:
>Legions were voluntary recruitment based
>intellectual and educated
>Highest paid military of its time
>Multiple perks as well as choice of career involvement or levy based involvement
U.S:
>Military is voluntary recruitment based
>Education requirements are needed and further education is highly available
>highest military budget of its time
>Many Perks and career or voluntary involvement
Rome's downfall was its government and over extension of its Empire.
U.S's downfall is its Government and over extension of its involvement.
>>2822494
If this is true, I sure as shit hope if won't be as painful as when the Romans collapsed, I'm pretty comfy at the moment
>>2822494
I just hope we wisen up like the romans did
When the romans were a republic they were against annexing shit and preferred to set up allies and client states, which they would have to fight again
America is doing the same thing, I just hope we start annexing and fuck this client state shit
>>2822494
The similarities are quite the head scratcher. Some argue that the US empire is falling right now and is at its end, though id argue that Rome had its series of bad leaders and emperors.
Perhaps the dark ages have been apon us for sometime and the US is the true second Rome launching the world into a new era of domination. If that is so, I sure hope they thave learned for their mistakes, because it looks an awful like they are just repeating history.
Why did rome never reunify the same way china always did?

Anon.
'We're pragmatically using the muslims on Sicily because we need them for the agricultural economy + they know arabic for the documents' doesn't = coexistance and multiculturalism.
They were toleranted and existed because of the King's protection and even then, legally, the fine for killing them (and jews) was half that of a Christian.
The Greeks in Sicily and Calabria lost their importance in the late 12th century (William 1st onwards), the Muslims start vanishing after William II and get replaced by Arabic jews.
Whenever they're revolts, the peoples and nobility make a point to kill the local muslims.
