Hey /his/,
I am not a regular here, but I was wondering if anybody can recommend some good history channels on youtube.
I am interested in history, but I never had a lot of formal education about it. Youtube has shown itself to be a great way to learn shit as long as you're not pretending that it is as in depth as a real education.
I like Bill Wurtz's history of Japan/Everything. I think he has the right approach: Being thorough but concise. A good balance between entertainment and educational value.

there are none
>>2818804
Why do people like to think they learned so much about history from this video? The video is intended to be entertaining, which I agree that it is. It doesn't go into depth about the topics, so you're left without having learned all that much.
Were all Ancient Egyptians looked like this?
Probably a smidge darker but yeah more or less
People in the south of Egypt would have been a little bit darker
>>2818770
No, he's part Greek.
>>2818898
He's only "an eighth Greek".
Where did this idea come from that Roman citizens worshipped the Emperor as a God? There isn't a shred of evidence to support this.
>>2818751
They didn't, you idiot.
They worshipped *dead* *worthy* emperors, who are believed to undergo apotheosis once they die and become part of the Imperial Cult.
It's what happens when you have an Ancestor-Worshipping society like Rome: the Emperor becomes this state ancestor of sorts and gets venerated by his subjects. You see similar shit in ancestor-worship in China.
>>2818775
Chill out, Mark. I know that they didn't. I'm simply wondering how this myth has been perpetuated. Your answer was good though.
>>2818789
Nero, I think, became a god whilst living. It was one of his outrageous acts.
Redpill me on CG Jung

Will we ever see a empire that is as brutal and successful as the Mongols ever again?
>Build tents
>Successful
>run away
>successful
>collapse within in a century because you're to inept to construct lasing governance structures
>successful
Why was MesoAmerica so late?

Why isn't Europe there?

Corn, climate fluctuations, population density, societal stratification
>>2818087
They had to invent corn first
As a Tajik, my understanding has always been that Tajiks are just Eastern Persians. Pic related is on the Wikipedia page for "Persian peoples." However, plenty of Iranians have told me that I am not Persian. How much validity do their statements have? Are they right, or is Wikipedia? Could I get somebody to explain this to me in simpler terms? Thank you
>>2818007
Tajiks aren't Persian in the modern sense of the word as it defines a specific ethnic group. Persian used to mean what today means Iranian. Tajiks are an Iranic peoples, the same race as Kurds, Persians, Gilakis, Baluchis, Ossetians, Jazz, etc.
>>2818036
Jasz not Jazz fucking autocorrect bullshit got dammit i hate when it ruins posts like this
>>2818007
It is good you are not Persian. They are going to make up the largest number of dwellers in Hellfire after women inshallah
Is there a good website for historical maps through the ages?
>>2817979
For research
>>2818013
For you.
>>2817979
Omniatlas has some neat maps. It's limited in time-frame but shows things like actual control and claimed lands and important events.
Can /his/ discuss this and explain if its correct or not? Are these claims correct?
>>2817644
nu-/his/ (the red-pilled, not afraid the truth one) will tell you that no one can answer those questions, because the evidence in favor of the holocaust is very flimsy.
(((/his/))) however, will call you an anti-semite and refute none of your points.
>>2817644
They aren't. Most of them are based on ignorance lack of knowledge about the holocaust.
>>2817644
Oh good, I can break out my pasta.
1) You do realize that the “famed German efficiency” is a myth, and that you had a smattering of different bureaucrats who were trying to compete for Hitler's favor, some by mass executions, some by production?
2) Because the term “holocaust” hadn't been associated with the mass killings yet. Churchill, by the way, does mention that. For instance
>"The wholesale massacre by systematised processes of six or seven millions of men, women and children in the German execution camps exceeds in horror the rough and ready butcheries of Genghis Khan, and in scale reduces them to pygmy proportions. Deliberate extermination of whole populations was contemplated and pursued by both Germany and Russia in the Eastern war." -THE SECOND WORLD WAR “The Gathering Storm” page 15
3)Because “Auschwitz” wasn't a single camp so much as a collection of over 50 camps, not all of which were stuffed with Jews ot be exterminated. The brothel, for instance, was primarily for the use of the SS staff.
4) Because A) “German efficiency” is largely a myth, B) You had a rather significant number of Jews from nominally allied nations such as Hungary and Romania where the SS had no jurisdiction, and C) Einsatzgruppen units who had embarked on wholesale massacres had notably higher rates of erratic behavior and alcoholism, something they wanted to cut down on.
5) You mean like Hans Frank's Diaries? Or this? http://i.imgur.com/i8b9bc2.jpg
Here's the story of Rhodesia

RHODESIANS NEVER DIE!

On the Eleventh of November, an independent state. This was much against the wishes of certain (((governments))) whose leaders tried to break us down and make us all repent.

Into the trash it goes.

hate Africans
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVMznKt5AU8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGlP_hgkitw
it's quite interesting, they say that Africans are scum of the earth and just as bad as the "Devil"/Esau (White Man)
holy fu*k what is this shit
>>2817288
They believe anyone who was a slave is an israelite.
>>2817288
Aren't they Ethiopians
>>2817288
It's because Africans sold them.
Black Hebrew Israelites are an amalgamation of a number of fringe movements, over the century they've existed they've absorbed Moorish Scientist, Nation of Islam, 5%ers, Kemetic, Afro Asiatics, Black Indian fringe faiths so while very few actually practice these faiths their presence over time has changed and altered the self perception of many black people.
To put it another way as most black people have come to honestly understand white supremacy and the effects of it many have turned to these groups for guidance because they've been around for decades telling black people to not seek white validation.
Moorish Indians and Moorish Indian Israelites are the latest of a long line, this is what happens when Europeans/White strip Africans they enslave of every aspect of their culture and then denigrates what scraps remain.
Reap what you sow so to speak.
so how inaccurate was this mini-series to Napoleon's actual life?
>Napoleon isn't a cute femboy
Not much apparently
>>2816743
his femboy days ended after 1800
It barely scratched the surface. The 2002 mini-series was disappointing as fuck. There needs to be SERIOUS budget, a talented cast, AND production that can bring the Napoleonic era to life.
General Ottoman Empire discussion thread.
I'll start with a question: what in particular caused the decline of the ottoman state?
There's a lot to discuss in terms of causes of decline, but I'll just name one in particular that I've come to memorize.
The constant buying up raw materials by European traders such as the Venetians lead to heavy regulations by the Ottoman gov't on the purchase of these raw goods such as metals.
Some time passes, a black market forms, officials are bribed to look the other way, and corruption breeds more corruption.
>>2816443
The same thing that made it strong: Extreme conservatism and an economy based on slavery.
>>2816638
Which parts of the economy were slave based? IIRC the agriculture was based off the reaya, not slaves
