Those will probably change the sound a lot more than these, which I'd recommend instead: https://www.amazon.com/Auray-Genuine-Sheepskin-Leather-Earpads/dp/B00EHTG7J8
I have to believe earpads that move the ears away from the drivers (compared to stock pads) will change the sound more than earpads that don't.

Literally the hd600. If you find the clamp to be too much for you, you can always stretch the band. Ignore the memes and look on Youtube. It's straightforward.
>>
>>61508649
You will get shat on here for that comment. /g/ hates him.
>>
>>61508607
Unironically the HD600 if you like mids.

There are only two potential problems with it, one is that there's a slight treble/bass recess, and the other is that it has a soft and mild sound signature so it's shit if you predominantly listen to metal, hardstyle etc.

It's a mid budget dream for female vocals and weeb music though.
>>
>>61508759
But he's literally /hpg/ personified
>>
>>61508715
I think it's pretty exclusive to /hpg/ to worship one particular, relatively old headphone with a lot of really bad issues in the midrange and no treble and call it "neutral." Other audio enthusiast places on the internet have moved on from them and/or realize the severe flaws they have.

Um no. I said
>lumpy midrange and rolled of treble
Is the problem with the hd600. It's not "polite," it's dark and muddy. Roll-off past 8khz, a giant +10db spike at 2.5khz, and a -8db dip at 1.5khz is not neutral whatsoever.

Meanwhile every fucking shillheiser faggot here goes "MUH NEUTRAL MIDS" when asked about the hd600s meanwhile they have worse fqr measurements in the midband than almost 90% of headphones.

>>61509006
I was only joking. I don't claim that the 600's are neutral, but they're close. I dont wan't my headphone to be 100% fucking neutral. The hd600 works because the overall sound signature sounds amazing, a significant part of that is the slight warmth. Calling the 600 garbage is laughable and you know it.

>>61509015
You preferred the beyers because the midrange is flatter, albeit recessed because of the midbass bump. You probably also actually listen to music and not weeb shit/anime/vaporwave.

And yes they have a treble spike, but ironically the Sennheisers have more dramatic peaks in the midrange than the beyers have at treble. +4db at 9khz for the dt880s. Meanwhile at 2.5khz, right smack dab in the midrange, the hd600s have a peak at more than double the amplitude.

I agree that the plastic is shit, but if you're spending this kind of money on a pair of fucking headphones you should be able to take them off your head and put them on a stand without breaking them like an absolute fucking retard. They're big, open headphones for home use. It doesn't matter if they're not built like a tank. The clamp is tight if you're not used to it. I stretched mine and its genuinely the most comfortable headphone I have tried. It took 20 seconds. That said, my friend bought a pair not long ago and I put them on expecting them to feel horrible and I actually liked the clamp.
>>
>>61509106
The highs on beyers literally hurt at times. The hd600 sound detailed but NEVER feel horrible on the highs. Enjoy your headphones.

SR60's have always been the dumping ground for binned drivers that couldn't be matched to ±0.1db

Each driver has a filter. High pass for the woofers, low pass for the tweeter and a set of each for the midrange driver. So technically there is no crossover.

Complaining about crossovers as a bad thing is a non argument anyway, considering most high order linkwitz/Riley alignments blend most drivers seamlessly at the expensive of efficiency.

A high/low pass filter can be an element in a crossover, but a band-pass filter is the definition of a crossover. There can also be other elements to a crossover such as baffle step correction and forms of analog signal processing.

Other places shill HD600 thousand times harder, Head-Fi will literally include HD600 in any recommendation, SBAF piss n' shit on beyers and is basically a big HD600 club and leddit was taken over by massdrop and Tyll didn't even remove them from wall of fame even tho he wrote that HE400s are "modestly superior" to HD60. Face it, this +10 years old piece of kitchen table plastic still blows or is at least is on pair with all modern headphones in it's price range. I hope competition rises and Sennheiser finally does a refresh, or better unfuck HD700 because they have all da bass and comfort, even better than HD800 cus HD700 fixates better on the head.

Less so, FR says.
They're also WAY less niggerbass than the HD598Cs which use the same drivers.

I own and love the HD380 Pro. The overall subjective sound is very similar to my HD600, except for stronger bass, which doesn't seem to affect the other frequencies when it hits. It feels as if the extra bass comes "for free".

I've tried a friend's, with his fulla2 (same setup as my HD380s). They're less bassy but they don't seem to sound "right". They don't feel like the HD600 at all.

Wrong model. The I makes a difference.

Does anyone who's owned both the ATH-AD700 and ATH-AD700x feel like the 700x's sound is a bit muddier compared to the 700? I feel like with the 700x words are melding together and my ears are muffled like I have a cold.
>>
>>61514452
You're a fucking cute little shit aren't you?

Who's zeos?

Just got this in my email
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-headphones

How does it compare to the HD6xx? I just ordered one but at the same price I'm not sure which to pick
>>
>>61514473
AKGs are garbage
>>
>>61514399
HD600 is the best sounding full sized headphone available. Pay no attention to shitposters.

Seems like you either bring $500 to buy headphones or don't bother. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.
>>
>>61514370
>>61514389
The properly sealed measurements in >>61514162 demonstrate the difference in bass response isn't actually that large. >>61514370 and >>61514389 are poorly sealed HD600 measurements. HD600 have the same amount of midbass as HD650 and only about 2 dB less of 20 Hz response, which is fairly inconsequential.
>>
>>61514513
maybe you should specify that it's in pretend money
>>
>>61514519
>HD600 have the same amount of midbass as HD650
100% incorrect, who are you trying to fool?
>>
>>61514525
Even if it were in USD that's still $350+ across the board

Why doesn't a decent headphone for under $200 USD exist?
>>
>>61514536
HD6XX
>>
>>61514513
Status audio Cb-1s or OB-1s are great for the price. They honestly btfo most headphones below $200 and are comfy as fuck.
>>
god i hope none of you are really making purchases based off of what you read here. all of the headphones worth buying dont even get mentioned
>>
>>61514536
AKG K612 is $161 on amazon.
>>
>>61514546
The CB-1 are good. The OB-1 are not and are severely outclassed by SHP9500s.
>>
>>61514499
>S-STOP PAYING ATTENTION MUH SENNHEISERS ARE BESTEST
>>
>>61514550
there are no headphones worth buying, they merely exist as temporary placeholders for when you cant listen to your speakers
>>
>>61514552
Total cost is a lot more if you don't already have a Magni 2 or something even more powerful, as they're hard to drive.
>>
>>61514562
This.
>>
are you guys active in console war threads too? seems like some rabid shilling to make sure you don't feel bad about your own purchases.
you would probably really enjoy picking up a switch/xbox/playstation at random and defending it on youtube or wccftech

I don't actually own any of the products I usually discuss here. I am only interested in the truth being known.
>>
Is there anything like the DT990 but with better treble, v-shaped, and lower or equal price?
>>
>>61514513
That's what you get for only looking at one retailer.

Put some effort in fuckbag.
>>
>>61514324
It's going to completely fuck the sound unless you want to spend the time to trial and error to get the it back to what it used to be or just get closed headphones since they leak to much as an open back headphone is expected to do.
>>
>>61514591
>False flagging to make himself feel better about getting BTFO'd

Literally no affiliation with that anon you delusional cumrag.
>>
>>61514589
Ignore the shitposting and memes. There is the occasional guy who comes through here that actually links reviews and provides real reasons for their headphone recommendations. But it's an old general.

>>
How do the K612 and K7XX compare?
The K7XX is $252+shipping but the K612 is only $155 Monopoly dollars
>>
>>61513959
You are such a fucking knownothing faggot.
>>
>>61514616
What other retailers are there?
>>
>>61508607
Probably hd600/650. I would suggest 600 if you really want neutrality, 650 if you really want mids and slightly wider.

I guess this headphone is now known as the HF2010. Anyways, it is a better V-shaped open headphone than the DT990 for 1/3 the price.

If you're not sure on the signature and are only semi sure you want bass get the k7xx or k712. They've got great deep bass without being overwhelming and pretty even throughout the rest.
