Some sets might pop up on ebay, but they were from assdrop last month. You can bet Tai Hao will keep pumping out more sets though, keep watching. Or petition to re-drop that set.

Do any of you recommend a certain set of keycaps for a Vortex Pok3r keyboard, preferably PBT? I'm waiting for the thing to ship and have decided to stop by and hear some suggestions from you /g/uys.

Yo I just got my first mechanical keyboard and the blues are too fucking loud. Should I take a gamble on some key dampeners or just return it and get a brown? How well do key dampeners work?
>>
>>58439493
I don't see why you'd get clicky switches if you're concerned about noise, but o-rings won't help dampen them since the mechanism that makes the noise is inside the switch.

Browns feel like shit. Don't get those. Get clears if you want tactile cherry that doesn't make unnecessary noise
>>
>>58439513
I wasn't concerned about noise until I actually got the thing and realized that it's way louder than I anticipated. But I'll check out clears then. Thanks for the help.

RGB that provides some SDK allowing me to change colors from a PC program would be great; if that's not an option, having a brightness-adjustable backlight would be nice but not required, it's not a top priority

QPAD MK-80 with MX Blues, currently using it at home but would like to get rid of the numpad
Cherry brand MX Clear keyboard at work, forgot the exact model

I've been looking around myself and the only thing that could fit my ideal case was a Masterkeys Pro S with MX Blues, but I can't find it anywhere, just Browns which I've tried and don't particularly like as they don't have enough tactile feedback for me. I'd love to hear about some models which would fit the bill at least, the only things I absolutely want are TKL size and MX Blues, everything else is a bonus.

got keycool 87 ~1.5 year ago, for few months now i have chatter on like third of keys (which i can somehow control with software), recently some keys started to stop registering presses from time to time. not sure if it's just kailh being utter shit or mechanical being a meme.

If you need a software and SDK, the MasterKeys is the only and probably the best option. Others would be Razer and Corsair shit, but then you're stuck with the default keycaps (at least on Corsair if I recall correctly) and the obvious questionable looks. Other keyboard with RGB lighting usually do it directly through the keyboard (which you can do with the MasterKeys too).
Have you tried Amazon? They have import options available. Not sure how it works for the EU, but the US one has worldwide shipping, you just have to make a deposit for import fees.

What the fug???

After extensive research and no prior knowledge on mechanical keyboards I decided to purchase this ducky keyboard. I expected this keyboard to last a fair amount of time considering the fact that it has cherry switches and PBT Keycaps. While I am satisfied with the quality of the switches so far, I wish I could say the same about the keycaps themselves. I was under the impression that PBT lettered keycaps were one of better ways to manufacture keys, Maybe I was wrong? Maybe the keyboard I received did not have legitimate PBT lettered keys? Ive had the keyboard for a little over a month now and the WASD keys are already starting to fade. Would not recommend purchasing a ducky keyboard.
>>
>>58449074
PBT is the plastic used on the keycaps, not how the legends are actually printed. If you want durable legends, double-shot PBT is one of the best you can find. You can find more information here: https://deskthority.net/wiki/Keycap_printing

The F key on my Cherry rubber dome keyboard broke, and I thought I'd check this shit out. Only suppliers from within Germany please so I can send it back easily if it turns out to be a meme.

Budget: As little as possible? Like, I used to use $20 headphones, but then I bought $300 ones and they did indeed sound like they cost, so maybe it's the same with mechanical keyboards? There's probably some threshold above which it's just "-phile" shit like these lightbulb amps and crazy fat audio cables.
Location: Germany
Preferred switch type: Uh, quiet? Mostly programming, some vidya, but most of all I don't want to be that fag in voice chat who drowns everyone out with the click sounds of his keyboard.
Layout: en-US?
Form factor: full keyboard
Backlight: nice to have, but I'd rather save money

To a very large degree, it is a meme. Most people using mechanical keyboards are posers. Hell, I bet many don't even touch type. They buy for aesthetics and placebo bullshit like the sound (which everyone in their right mind actually hates) and Le Tactile Feedback without actually realizing why they need that tactile feedback. Whenever I hear some dipshit obsessing about this crap, I imagine a baby dazzled by a rattle toy. And when I hear crap like "typing comfort" I imagine a sickly nerd with toothpick fingers that break under a light breeze.

But it's true that if you learn not to bottom out, a switch like the cherry blue can increase your WPM. If you sort out through the bullshit, there is merit to mechanical keyboards.

I touch type since 14 years. using blues at around 130wpm since 5-6y. I still bottom out some keys (mostly the functional ones like shift, control, del). Just try and take it slow at first. learn where the response point is and work up from there
>>
>>58450282

Well yeah. The whole idea of a switch like the blues is that the bump lets you know exactly when the switch has been actuated so you can stop pushing any further. It takes some getting used to but it's not difficult to learn.
>>
>>58450230
I tried multiple times to learn not bottom out on blues, but I need to type way too lightly and slowly for that. Maybe it's doable and actually do improve your WPM on greens or whatever, but blues are still too light for me to not bottom out.

Guess my keyboard sucks since I have no gaming buttons. I didn't know that I was playing PC games completely the wrong way this whole time

The Kaihua I bought on the Black Friday sale has finally reached my third world shithole (and I discovered my phone has an allergic reaction when taking pictures with multiple light sources so sorry for the shitty pic)

I`ve been typing for half an hour and the change from rubberdome to this is pretty impressive, I'm loving it (though I'm still getting used to the position of keys on the American layout)

Hopefully it doesn't break down that soon. Anything I should keep in mind so I can keep this thing working for at least a few years?

half of these points aren't even points

Found a keycap set I like (NPKC Blank PBT Keycaps) on Massdrop. What should I expect when ordering from the site except for the wait time?
>>
>>58453163
well yeah actually, how many of those buttons do you use?, totally not optimal
>>
>>58438554
How has no one noticed that port and starboard are backwards?
>>
>>58452615
It's simply not comfy having to move my arms so far to switch between the keyboard and mouse. If you're a gaymer, you have to stretch out your arms to actually be able to reach both the mouse and the WASD keys at the same time.
>>
I just received my order of keycaps from wasdkeyboards.com and they messed up my order. How often does this usually happen? I haven't heard anything bad from wasdkeyboards, so I'm a little surprised they fucked up my order
>>
>>58453291
This is why I'm afraid of getting new keycaps. If I order what I want and end up with some hipster blank keycaps I'm gonna be upset.
>>
>>58453291
Just contact them and ask them to make things right
>>
>>58453312
Yeah. I sent them an email, so hopefully I can get this resolved. But I live in Canada, and had to pay duty fees on top of a $90+ order, and it didn't even come in properly.
>>
>>58453334
Yeah, I'm hoping I'll get a reply soon from them. But I ordered a custom keycap with a picture on it, and it didn't even come in at all, so I have no idea what happened along the way

I have a walnut ergodox case, i am not much of a 60% guy myself.
>>58451639
Eh, depends on the manufacturing method, if they are mass produced by a lot of people it is too much, if it was made by a single craftsman the price is alright if the finish is good and it is solid.
I would use linseed oil for the finish.

Greens are the keys I use everyday when when gaming. Yellows are for the occasional games I play that require those keys. I could rebind them, but I'm to lazy and I've already gotten used to that. I need a full size keyboard if I want to enjoy my games, or esle I'd have to spend hours rebinding everything
>>
>>58453411
What game do you play that actually makes you prefer full size to TKL?
>>
>>58451766
There are some TKL boards that still have seperate top row numbers / F-keys
>>
>>58438554

What is this keyboard in the OP here? The keyboard itself, not the caps.

What's wrong with floating key design?

I like floating key design

It's easier to clean

>>58453513
Builder games. Having a numpad is so much better since you enter so many numbers. Also flight sims
