So, /g/? Is systemd an NSA attempt?
>>59242692
Of fucking course, its not like the solution is out there though. Install Gentoo or Void Linux if you are a pleb.
I'm someone whose only Linux machine is mint on a an old Toshiba laptop and who has never compiled a kernel before.
In my expert opinion, yes.

This must be a bait thread so kill yourself. But if you actually went into the thinkpad threads you would know that modern 'Chinkpads' are shit and /g/ only shills the classic models like the x201.
Why can there be an os with the game library of Windows, the aesthetic of mac, and.the open sourcness of linux?
Because no one in their right mind would release that kind of OS as open source.
>mac
>aesthetic
>>59242709
It looks better than Windows and 90% of Linux distributions do before being riced out.
Why?
>>59242628

Why does gimp have to cache the entire font directory every time it starts up?
Remember when "Front-End Developer" meant HTML, making GIF banners in Photoshop, and a little JavaScript in the header?
Nowadays you're talking to the database, writing object-oriented controller classes, and not doing any creative work.
Remember when web design was a thing and not killed by bootstrap or WordPress themes

>we also want someone who can create and maintain our site, apps, internal applications and more

Do you think wordpress themes appear out of thin air?
My current browser is Firefox, now its dying though so im moving on.

I'm the steward of our SN install at work. Currently trying to not be that person anymore.
I've come to the conclusion that desktops are obsolete. I'm going to be docking my MacBook into a solid monitor from now on. I hope that eGPUs will become more viable if I need extra power.
what monitor does /g/ recommend? minimum 27'', budget $600. I dont believe in buying technology new so would get it used.

Best microswitches in the fucking game. A tad pricey, but they're worth it. Great tactile feedback for gayming applications and rugged as fuck for industrial ones.
>>59242241
excellent microswitches
What is the file size of an empty folder?
Cold you theretically fill up a hard drive with nothing but empty folders?
>>59242232
try it and let us know how long it takes
>>59242232
Yes. Folder metadata takes space. You could fill a drive with nothing but metadata
>>59242232
That depends on the filesystem.
On EXT family filesystems, each empty directory will take up an inode, so you'll run out of inodes before you run out of normal space.

>qBittorrent v3.3.11 was released. There are a few WebUI security fixes.
>This will be the last release in the v3.3.x series. Next release will have a new icon theme(at least) and will drop Qt4 support. Also Qt 5.7.1 seems to be the last release supporting Windows XP. It is unknown how long I am going to still support it.
