Same here. I've found Arch installs packages much faster than any debian based distros except when I occasionally (very rarely) need to compile from sauce.

a very fucking lengthy apt-get upgrade took place and this has not made nmap perform the scripts either

yeah theres fuck all out there on the web about why the hell this would happen. ive tried removing nmap and readding it, that didtn make a difference, the scripts are in the db, so they are being read, it sjust either not executing it or just not display ing results, both of which are fucking useless

Xfce is the worst DE of all time just because of the meme status. It's not even that lightweight and you get a barely functioning DE. KDE is actually useful and isn't based on a shitty toolkit like Gtk and KDE can be as lightweight (mine starts up at around 530ish mb)
