Why did BSD never catch on?
>>60037416
Legal issues and such at the outset, then linux just already had the momentum.
Sort of the same story as with KDE/Qt.
Because nobody wants to use an OS named after a dubious sex practice
GNU/Linux is way better.
If python is so shit and slow then how come it is the principle language behind:
>Pintrest
>Dropbox
>Duolingo
>Google (originally)
>Disqus
>Spotify
? Just because it is popular doesn't mean it is shit, you fucking retards
It's not shit, but it is slow.
Slowness is not a problem for most if it's applications.
>>60033890
because it is popular because people consider it a babby's first language.
even though i think for a "babby's first language," it's extremely difficult to use compared to shit like javascript or ruby.
Just because it's popular doesn't make it good, either.
Still, I'm happy it exists. I think it's like the 3D printing of programming languages in that it's good fun for rapid prototyping. I don't think that's a justification for its use in making enterprise products but I guess the trade-off is in the abundance of experienced programmers available. Perhaps that matters more than speed and sophistication.
Give me one good reason why you're not using the best mouse on the planet?
I am.
because the g303 exists

I'm saving up for a headphone so I have to keep using this chinkshit.
Because /netsec/ is /cyb/
/cyb/ + /netsec/ is for discussion of all things Cyberpunk, from movies, TV, websites, games, current events, computer security, networks, exploits, reverse engineering, social engineering, hacking, tricks, etc. Related topics range from fashion, to personal security and anonymity, to alternative and creative hardware, and much more.
>What is cyberpunk?
Cyberpunk is a genre of science fiction set in a lawless subculture of an oppressive society dominated by computer technology.

for example seeing lines of code like this...
this.updateLanguage = this.updateLanguage.bind(this);
luckily I've been messing with code just long enough to know that forcing myself to read something over and over again in different contexts will eventually magically make it make sense :)

>>60053926
this desu senpai
Everyone is better off sticking to the main distros like Debian, Arch, Fedora, etc. Everything else is just based off of one of these and unstable. Except maybe Ubuntu, which is based off of Debian but has enough manpower and support behind it to consider it an independent effort.
is it good?
It's okay I guess. Not much customization available and the stock apps are shitty tho
No, it's literally just a pre-riced Ubuntu with more bugs.
>>60053598
>Not much customization
Wrong, you can customize in the same way that you can on any LInux distro. It's still Ubuntu at its core.

That's dumb.

Why? It enforces decent and uniform formatting for every project. No need for brace placing flamewars.

Actually now that I think of need you don't need equal signs, indentation is enough.SomeType

Go read 1984, OP
So my SD Card decided to fuck my shit up suddenly.
It's a Kingston 32GB, I was listening to music the other day (which is saved on the SD) and it suddenly stopped and the phone didn't recognize the card anymore.
I plugged it to the PC and tried with GParted, Minitool Partition Wizard, even tried wiping it from other phones but it does not get wiped in any wayI try, I can't even make any kind of changes .
I don't care about the content, i have most backed up, but is the SD beyond repair? I can't really get another one currently.
I did try /sqt/ but i don't think i'll be getting any replies, I'd appreciate help
Yes, it's fucked. SD cards have a limited lifespan and once that ends it'll start spewing corrupted data out.
>>60051662

It hasn't even been a year since I got it though, are they really this easy to get killed?
