I think its funny that the symbiote's strength/health/how ever you want to rationalize it, is completely dependant on whatever the plot needs at any given moment. There is no consistenty between Costa's own issues.

Previously, the symbiote could not leave Lee when it tried. Then it suddenly could, but was unable to forcefully bond to some random cop (despite literally doing the same thing to Lee in the first issue of the run). Now it suddenly can leave Lee easily, just because the plot needs it to.

That's not an acceptable excuse. Especially when the symbiote was written better as few as six issues ago, when Robbie Thompson's arc ended. Costa just doesn't have any clue how to write the alien. Nor can he be bothered to even read the arc before his, apparently.

The symbiote has -always- been a far more calculating entity than one to panic.

I mean let's face it, these are fictional characters we're talking about so it's a bit silly to talk about how they "feel" since whatever is written about them at the moment is the truth, but it does seem like Brock hating the symbiote for making him a "monster" does seem pretty delusional, which is in character for Brock, but delusional nonetheless...deep down you'd have to think he knew that wasn't true

Heck, even that time Ann was bonded with it and fought those guys Eddie told her "it can't make you do anything you don't want to do....", which he may have stopped believing at some point but regardless

Seeing as I, nor anybody else, can prove our speculations about what a character is feeling since they don't exist, if tomorrow a writer wrote Eddie Brock always "felt" he identified sexually as a wolf with dragon wings, that would be canon, how I felt about that wouldn't matter if there was an official source stating it
