I remember kind of liking the villain of this (he first showed up in Morbius, his only appearance outside of this, I believe) and wondering why he was never used again, especially sincehe survived in a really dumb/contrived way. Throw him in with all of the other forgotten Venom baddies, I guess. Maybe they could form a team.
>>92196380
>>92196632
Yup.
>>92196703
Writers could bring him back, though. As an Anon said in one of the previous threads, these are all characters that Costa could mine and bring back. There is still a lot of room to do some really neat things with them. But that'll never happen.

>>92201536

It really is. Brock and the symbiote were in a pretty darn intimate relationship, with the symbiote literally living inside his body and all.
>>92201586
This story is the last time we ever see Donna/Scream until she shows up for 2 pages in Remender's run to get killed. What a shame.
Next up, Venom goes on trial (again)!
Also, I'm catching up on the past storytimes and I just wanted to make a note of something.
In the trial of Venom, Daredvil uses the comparison of Eddie Brock to JJJ, saying how someone hating Spidey doesn't equal hating him, but JJJ is the same guy who has created multiple super villains in an attempt to kill Spidey, including controlling the Spider slayers with his own hands
>>92201869
>someone hating Spidey doesn't equal hating him
Meant to say wanting to kill him
>>92201869
Yeah, it's pretty weak logic.
Also, I've never really read Lethal protector in full before, so reading it for the first time, I really liked it, but god the main villain was lame.
"I want to kill all the hobos underneath the park so that I can get the hidden gold!"
I was much more interested in the guy who created the jury, because he was created when Eddie killed someone innocent. I wish they had expanded upon that, and actually gave a reason for Eddie killing the guards in his early appearances instead of easily knocking them out.
>>92201897
>>92202116
I really like Lethal Protector. But its true, villain is pretty weak. The Life Foundation stuff is fun, though.

So, I feel like I missed something with Donna...did she like, stop being a murderous psycho who has voices in her head, or is it just a non issue due to her company?
>>92203459
They forgot even after using the first issue she appeared in as a plot point?
>>92203586
She apparently just stopped having them after escaping the Life Foundation somehow.
>>92203484
This
>>92203484
>>92203674
Well, she left the Life Foundation after Lethal Protector. Somehow she escaped from The Vault on her own after Separation Anxiety and has not had the murderous impulses since then.
Maybe the psychic scream from Venom symbiote during Planet of the Symbiotes cured her or something. That's about when she started acting not-crazy.
>>92203621
Ann? She was in ASM 375, Sinner Takes All, Along Came A Spider and then Rune VS Venom. Writers pretty much forgot about her entirely until, years later, they brought her back for a single issue just to kill her and give Eddie a new sorta-reason to hate Spider-Man.

Also, all those Carnage HOO HAAs
>>92208056
Matt just really wants to prove Venom innocent, he secretly loves Venom
>>92208056
Again, writers opting not to do any research. We're getting into the period where writers and editorial just say, "Fuck it." and do whatever they want.
This isn't even the bad stuff yet.
So when's Venom 150 coming out, anyway?
>>92209005
Well somebody has to.
Everybody, including Spider-man, just wants him to rot in prison without even considering that the symbiote is influencing him, or trying to separate and rehabilitate them.
>>92210199
May 24th.
Trying to get through as much of Eddy Brock's journey before then. Don't know if I'll be able to do it, but the plan is to sync right up with 150.

I believe in you.
>>92210515
>Eddy
Wow. That's a derp moment right there. Dunno how I fucked up spelling "Eddie" like that.
bump
thank you OP
God, I really hope Eddie doesn't inexplicably hate Spider-Man again in 150 for no reason. And in the case of the symbiote, once Venom rebonded to Eddie, surely it would've realized that it was Spidey AND Eddie that were okay with the plan used to capture him. So there'd be no reason to be only mad at Spider-Man.
>>92214009
