And we're back!
I don't feel like doing this tonight, maaaaaan.

someone posted Liefeld Breakdowns and Mignola finishes on X-Force and they're great.
i have not heard of the writer or artist for this alpha flight which is a great sign
>>90694699
>this method of uploading viruses
woooow
also this is the plot of Superman 3!
>>90694690
>someone posted Liefeld Breakdowns and Mignola finishes on X-Force and they're great.
Share with the class, anon!
>>90694796
It was Ed Piskor, the guy who does the comic Hip Hop Family Tree.
>>90694690
>i have not heard of the writer or artist
Yeah Jim Lee is gone, guess by now he's moved up to Punisher War Journal on his path to becoming a comics super star
>>90694796
getting images out of a twitter gallery is a bitch

>>90694960
Haha, that's pretty neat.
>that indiscernible blob of a hand in the first panel of Rob's page
>>90695029
i thought he was shaking something

>>90695029
Fun Fact that issue was when Mike realized he had to leave Marvel, nothing to do with Rob, it was the fact that Bob Harras refused to let him draw the cover
>>90695054

these are making me mad at how good Mignola is
>>90695054
That does make more sense!
>>90695074
is there no end to Harras' crimes. I would buy a collection of just Mignola's X-Men Classic covers.
>>90695080
4/4
>>90695074
X-Force fans' reactions to his art probably didn't help either.
>>90695118
>I would buy a collection of just Mignola's X-Men Classic covers.
I bet the classic covers are back matter in the Epic Collections
>>90695144
in my dreams there's an Epic collection of the Claremont/Bolton back ups that has em
Speaking of Epics, Excalibur and X-Force Vol 1s are this week
>>90695216
I already have the Excalibur issues, I just want a new collection of Moore's Captain Britain. It's been a pain trying to find the 90's reprints
>>90695415
Marvel is so fucking bad at reprinting stuff, it's no wonder DC has them beat in the trade market.
>>90695415
you mean the Original Writer?
agree tho, that stuff is great
>>90694121
Including Alpha Flight was a mistake. At least Dazzler was funny in how Allison would repeatedly screw up her life.
>>90695452
>Original Writer
Oh right, they probably just don't want to go through that again. I think the Marvel UK stuff has some weird rights issues
>>90695487
Yeah... too late to go back in any case.
>>90695544
i mean you did the Byrne stuff already
>>90695544
jesus Tales from the Crypt ending outta nowhere
>>90695597
Yeah, but we're already like halfway through this vol and the other ones are laughably short, so...
In any case, this is the last Alpha Flight storytime for this GXS volume. We won't see them again until Vol. 6.
Speaking of, I don't think I have Omega Flight because it has very little to do with this team. Eh, I think I'll keep it that way, this poor computer's already lost too much space as it is.
Huh, so I *do* have Omega Flight. Well I'll be.
>>90694121
Heyho.
I'm feeling a bit better tonight, so I should be able to comment more heavily.
I almost wonder if Mantlo's earliest issues were as wordy as they were intentionally, to cut down on the amount of needed art to hit deadlines faster. Because he's improved a lot on that since.
The Purple Man zombie issue was pretty fun.
>>90696141
Hi anon!
>>90695013
They must have seen his Puck redesign and gone "Hot Damn, this guy knows how to draw a pouch!"
>>90694750
Must have been a pretty big news story at some point in the 80s. Like one of those "The CIA is using webcams to spy on you" headlines from nowadays.
>>90695118
>>90695080
>>90695054
>>90695020
Rob's sketching is actually not that bad. He might have made a competent storyboard artist. Or comic book artist if he'd gotten training.
>>90695299
>Send in the Mobile Suits
Oh shit, the US Air Force has Gundams!
>>90695487
>Including Alpha Flight was a mistake
Yeah, it's not really much of an X-Book for the vast majority of its existence. Outside of having some mutant characters that eventually get stolen, it's very much its own thing.Kinda bummed I seem to be the only one liking it.
>>90695544
Hah. Fun end.
Man, I'm still annoyed at how nerfed Jeffries got when he was pulled into the X-Sphere. There was an issue where he had to run away from a steampunk sentinel, instead of him just waving his hand and melting the damn thing.
Sorry, it wouldn't let me post for some damn reason.
>>90695939
This seems illegal!
>>90697333
How is Laura in the same grade as Kara?
>>90698105
>There were no repercussions for destroying a dam, an orphanage, and an airliner.
Whew lad.
>>90698206
>An Alphan dies
With this team, that's a promise you can take on face value!
>>90698239
>>90698267
Well, this is sure getting Meta.
>>90698524
Ah geeze, and I just realized this is building to the return of Dreamqueen.
That Box issue by Haynes is nice. Not art I would expect from a monthly, it feels more in line with an annual or some other special release.
And that's it for tonight. Next time: Wolverine! Madripoor! Be there!
>>90698956
What's so special about Madripoor? I always hear that name come up in books.
>>90698621
Haha! Convenient!
Surprised they didn't exploit Jeffries and his metal bending powers.
>>90698956
Well I'll probably read it but I'm not going to say I'm excited going into Wolverine's solo.
>>90699108
It's an SE Asian island nation Chris Claremont created so he could have Wolverine go some place besides Japan, to fight ninjas. Also, a place where he could write thinly disguised Terry and the Pirates fanfiction after Wolverine was given his own comic, over Claremont's objections and basically Claremont decided to pull a "Springtime For Hitler" and produce really bad Wolverine stories via his T&TP fan fiction in hopes of getting the book canceled (which didn't happen as they just fired Claremont from the book instead).
>>90699108
It's basically Mos Eisley.
>>90699108
It lets Marvel do a crime ridden Asian shithole with no laws but for those the powerful make for themselves, but without making any Asian country culpable for it.
Basically Fantasy Shanghai with enough Casablanca sprinkled in that Wolverine can get away with a white tuxedo, and enough Escape from New York that he gets to run around in a black tank top and an eyepatch.
