Also, I'm going to be posting the "edited" version of issue 5, meaning the pages are going to be rotated to allow for easier reading as opposed to how it appeared in print. If you would like a copy of the unedited issue I can upload that later.
aw yiss
I love how erratic Bruce's thoughts have become. He's been down here for days slowly losing his mind and it shows.
>>87826377
Bruce you're going Batty
>>87826419
So any of the names on the wall have any meaning outside the Cobblepop reference?
>>87826536
They're just a list of Gotham's influential families. That families that literally "built" this fine city, which is why the court saw fit to etch them in stone.
>My interpretation, could be very very wrong.
You can't help but empathize with the little gremlin
>>87826459
This
>>87826603
I hate the little fuck so much, it's unbelievable. Wish his mother hadn't had his spine replaced.
>>87826759
Glad to have you on board lol. But seriously, he can be written like such a little bastard in some isntances.

>Hurt him more.I guess we have you to thank for his eventual escape.
Amazing page! Bruce really is a monster
>>87825386
This is just reminding me that I was looking forward to the Talon Suicide Squad line-up that never happened.
Talon just got his shit kicked in through a stone wall.
>>87827126
That's unfortunate. I'd be stoked to see that.
Well this isn't good.
Court of Owls is so good.
City of Owls is so bad.
>>87827463
True. Still enjoy them both though.
Excellent throwback to Year One.
That's not disconcerting.
There are so many ways you can take this scene. Personally, I think Bruce is still reeling from his previous ordeal and needed something to hit. That or he needed that tooth removed from Dick's mouth ASAP and didn't feel like waiting around.
>>87827838
The first time I read this, I was amazed that:
>He was right about Dick having a fake tooth
>He managed to break exactly the fake one, and not any of the ones at the side.
>Said tooth haven't fallen in any of the previous fights Dick had so far.
FLY MY PRETTIES!!!!

First appearance of /co/s favorite new sidekick.
>>87827893
He's Batman.Seriously, that's the best I got.
>>87827993
I have an irrational hatred of Harper. I don't really hate her, more so what she represents.
>>87828167
what does she represent?
>>87828177
The idea that that this is what a "modern" Batman sidekick should be like. She's written in a way that we are supposed to find her likable (or at least I got that feeling). Also her character pushes the idea that "Robin" is outdated which is why they gave her the stupid code name Bluebird. She isn't overly awful, she just doesn't stick out and doesn't contribute.
>This could be completely off base and maybe I just need to read more Harper...
The problems that I have with Harper are similar to the problems I have with Duke only to a lesser extent. Tying his history to Year Zero does a lot towards legitimizing the character.
The bat lens is easily one of the more overpowered bat gadget to every come out of the bat cave.
I love you Giant Penny.
>>87826581
This issue gets all the fellating it deserves.
This, 48, and 29 are my favorite issues of the run.
>>87828693
I would personally add issue #24 to that list.
>>87828412
I felt the same way about Tim to be honest.
Duke is already one of the best sidekicks Batman's ever had, I love that he's not some fucking super genius, just a smart city kid.
>>87828838
I felt that way about Tim until I read his portrayal in some of the later issues of his Robin series and all of Red Robin.
>>87828412
>>87828838
Duke wasn't nearly as forced as "Fan-Favorite" Harper Row was. The Tim Drake route of slowly building up his involvement between All-Star and the main book works well by me.
We Are Robin did a lot in making me accept him too, and the costume didn't hurt either.
>>87828754
I'd add the last issue of Endgame in there, myself. I still am amazed that level of violence was allowed.
And the call is sent!
>>87828905
You just listed a lot of the reasons Duke is getting better in my eyes. And I was surprised by the level of violence displayed in Endgame as well. Having a fucking axe embedded in someone's chest is not something I would ahve expected to see in a DC comic.
>>87827838
I mean, having someone scream in your hear while you are still recovering from days of hallucinogen trips must be hard and Bruce did look tired and emaciated with his unkept beard and those tired eyes
>>87828939
I hate Bat crossovers so much. It's always the same shit.
>[things] are rampaging through the city!
>everyone scramble and keep people safe!
>cue tie-ins to every Batfamily member fighting a bunch of [things]
>Batman has big fight with [thing] boss
>all [things] deactivate
>How did we make it through this, the Bat family will never be the same!
I really like Snyder's run and King's run so far, but City of Owls, Death of the Family, Eternal, Robin War and Night of the Monster Men are all just so fucking boring they put me to sleep. Endgame was mostly the same way but was at least saved by the main book with Batman and Joker being really fucking good.
>>87829324
This is the same as the Hellbat from Tomasi's B&R, right? Such a fucking cool thing.
>>87829422
I think Hellbat is an entirely different model. WIth Hellbat being even more bad ass. Which is different from the Fenrir armor.
>>87827906
This exact page is the moment this story goes to shit. I'm interested to see if with all of Snyder's New 52 stuff, if you can pinpoint the moment the buildup falls apart.
Right here the Court who's apparently existed from the shadows for centuries without anyone ever discovering their activities, who pretty much already own all of Gotham through clandestine dealing, decide their master stroke should be to send a shit ton of undead assassins out into the streets to start fighting people willy nilly and reveal that the court is real.
Bruce starts his first of many, many instances in the nu 52 of solving all his problems with big robot suits, (I actually want to follow along in this adventure to see just how many times he resorts to robot suits over any kind of actual ingenuity,) and we get the reveal that the Court's leader is actually Bruce's long lost retarded brother!.... O-Or IS he?!?!? DUN DUN DUUUUUN! No. He's not.
>>87826559
Crazy Batman is the best reaction image
Owlman's mask is so simple and yet so good looking
I wish Lincoln had went out like SYndrome
So people on here like his run now? I thought that /co/ hated it.
>>87827993
Actually she's in the very first issue of this run
>>87830396
Damn straight.
>>87830436
/co/ doesn't know what it likes.
>>87829828
>Right here the Court who's apparently existed from the shadows for centuries without anyone ever discovering their activities, who pretty much already own all of Gotham through clandestine dealing, decide their master stroke should be to send a shit ton of undead assassins out into the streets to start fighting people willy nilly and reveal that the court is real.
Exactly my biggest problem with it. They just throw away everything that makes the Court interesting as villains to have a big dumb crossover event. I don't know if it's more Snyder's fault or editorial's, but it sucks either way.
Everything involving the Court after this is a complete joke, in the case of Seeley's Nightwing it seems to actually literally be a joke.
And to be fair, the robot suit in this was completely wrecked within pages of its debut.
>>87830436
/co/, like all of 4chan, always hates what's current and loves the thing that came before.
>>87830560
I'd like to think it was editorial, but every event Snyder does after this kind of ends in a bit of a fart too. It's weird, because I like how all his shit starts, I loved his pre-52 stuff, but he just can't seem to come up with compelling conclusions to his own stories.
>>87829506
>>87829526
Kinda corny but it works.
Starting the final issue of this thread. A return to the first issue of this Batman series.
>>87830992
Am I the only who gets an anime-esque feeling out of this art? Am I the only who dislikes it? Is batman.
>>87830924
Shocked to find out Cloonan was the first female artist on the main bat title.
I wonder if we are gonna get a female writer as the lead bat writer
>>87826925
I really like this page, and the sequence
Snyder's OC villains are pretty great.
>>87831022
I'm definitely getting anime influences as well. If I remember correctly I feel like this art is similar to the art found in Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane
>>87831032
I would be cool with Marjore Liu as a main Bat writer. Her work on Dark Wolverine was fantastic.
>>87831022
I like but I also take it as gotham being viewed threw Harper's eyes.
>>87828606
>Brother I am pinned here
Look, this isn't even a competition. Steven Universe is the best cartoon on TV right now and easily the best cartoon ever put on the air.
>but muh Samurai Jack
>but muh Gumball
>but muh South Park
No. This isn't a matter of opinion, SU is objectively better.
Steven Universe excels in pretty much every category it attempts. The action scenes are flawless, the jokes are timeless and the lessons are mature enough for adults while still being accessible to children. The fact that it also has enough anime references to essentially be an introduction to Eastern media is just icing on the cake.
I can safely say that the only people who hate Steven Universe are the people who have never watched it, and that's just pathetic because it's setting the bar for cartoons these days and will go down as the most influential cartoon of all time.
>>87831324
You shitposted in the wrong thread, buddy boy.
And thus concludes the third part of the Snyder Bat Epic. Will pick it up tomorrow with the first Annual which serves as an introduction to Mr. Freeze. Immediately after will be Death of the Family.
>>87827838
BATSLAP
PAGE OF THE CENTURY
>>87831517
Thanks, /co/mrade.
>>87831517
and then she ends up just being a supporting character lol
>>87830560
Every secret society does, that and jobs horribly in comics. The League of Assasins are generic cannon fodder, and the Hand are generic ninjas
>>87831032
No way. The bat group may be more conservative than other parts of DC, though. They hated Jim Lee at first
>>87829486
My god, stop giving Batman armor that only shows up once. It's stupid
>>87831431
Hey its Tiger Shark.
>>87831517
>Dat Harper Row in the last panel
Is she having a seizure, is legitimate retarded or something? Fuck, that's a really horrible art.
>>87831593
But we're not expected to believe that the League of Shadows existed in Batgod's own city, running basically everything for hundreds of years without him ever suspecting a thing until they chose to reveal themselves.
This society that managed to keep itself so secret that even Batman didn't know about it throws all those centuries and generations of work in the trash in one night just to send an army of useless ninjas after the Batfamily, so now literally every person in Gotham knows about them.
It's like if Andy Kaufman turned out to really be hiding all these years but blew the whole thing because he felt like going to McDonald's one day.
>>87831871
as if this was the first time it happened anyway
with that logic nothing should ever happen in Gotham anyway
>>87830625
Need more dynamic duo moments like this in current DC. Snyder knows how to write a good Dick.
BatBump!
Snyders run will be fondly remembered by the normie community therefore will become a cornerstone of the Bat Mythology for the rest of time
Thank you
>>87828838
>Duke is already one of the best sidekicks Batman's ever had, I love that he's not some fucking super genius, just a smart city kid.
Duke sucks.
>>87828838
Die.
>>87839423
Brother!!!!
>>87834341
>Snyders run
Snyder in charge of not ruining comics he's not even on.
Snyder's entire Batman run is edgy, retarded shit.
>>87834341
You know, when Rob Liefeld and Scott Snyder got into that Twitter fight and Rob Liefeld said that Snyder's Batman selling well had absolutely nothing to do with Snyder himself and everything to do with the fact that it's fucking Batman, I thought that was a bit deep.
It's only years later that I realise he was absolutely right.
>>87839540
Just a reminder that Snyder wrote (not even reading into anything, he's outright said it I believe) Joker as being in love with Batman.
>>87831517
I fucking hate Harper and Snyder seems to love her.
>>87831517
Snyder biggest mistakes were creating Harper and Duke. Other than that, his run was actually really good.
>>87839761
I like the cut of your jib.
>>87839643
If you think he's the first one who did that, you clearly haven't read very much Batman.
