Shit this thing almost died. All the way to page 8. Yikes.

>tfw Frank Millers edginess is of a time and place and is transcendent in that context and comical in the one it helped to spawn

Insightful
Superman getting nuked was an o shit moment if there ever was one.
Absolutely epic.
What Clark is going through must be agony.
So on top of taking a nuke to the face, he gets struck by lighting. Starting to think Frank is trying to say something here.
Anyone reading along?
Wonder what Ollie did that forced Clark to act. Bet it was just his vigilantism not sitting with well with the national government which is why they sent the boyscout.

I think he was going to kill the president or some classic Ollie move like that
This is a page that exemplifies all the strengths of the 4x4 grid. This layout would have been extremely more difficult with another framework.
One reason why I love this series so much isn't even the plot, it's the fact that each and every page is jam packed with content for the reader to look over. Probably one of the best bang for your buck comics of our time.
Boosh

I kinda want to see this now. More than that, I want know as much as I can about the universe Miller created. It feels fundamentally different from all other Bat Universes (much in the same way Arkham stood apart from the mainline DC universe by establishing it's own unique own lore).
Ollie you magnificent bastard.
Bruce is bringing the pain.

>...In all the years to come...
>...In your most private moments...
>I want you to remember...my hand...at your throat...
>...I want...you to remember...
>...The one man who beat you...
Probably one of the best lines from this entire work.
He was too good for this world. Alfred will be missed.
Clark is a bro on this page, shame about Ollie's arm. That shit ain't gonna be forgotten.
Excellent throwback to the first page of this series.

Whats batman even trying to prove here? Superman literally never fought back.
I could beat up any mma wrestler too as long as they dont fight back, its actually 2v1, and I can use weapons
>>87735693
he is putting up a show waiting for the fake death pill to take effect
Coming up is probably one of the more polarizing entries in Miller's catalog. You either love the art of hate it.
Jimmy is channeling his inner Perry right now. I love it.

how Ollie died after Zero Hour might have something to do with it

man I love DKSA Atom
I'm not sure if this is a pleb opinion but I really prefer Carrie as Robin orBatmancompared to Catgirl.
Also I find it hilarious she modified hers shoes to be voice controlled.

This is so retarded and made as little sense here as it did in BvS. WHY THE FUCK DOES HE TURN INTO A SKELETON?!?!
>>87736225
I totally read an ongoing of Atom if it was written and drawn by Miller/
The atom bomb spooked him and he temporarily transitioned to skeleton.

Even worse, they used kryptonite. That's like going up against Muhammad Ali but poisoning beforehand so you get a fighing chance.
Someone once put it very well: Superman vs. Batman is like a bodybuilder versus a cripple. Whether the bodybuilder wins or loses, he still ends up looking like an asshole.
>>87736382
That is easily the most hilarious analogy I've ever seen for the Batman Superman fight.
>>87736293
Does anyone like catgirl?
>News in the Nude
Never change Frank.

I think there are a few individuals like the look but they definitely not the norm. That or I'm just projecting really really badly.
And on an unrelated note, GOOD GOD DAMN is that Luthor? He looks like Mr. Hyde from the League of Extraordinary gentlemen. What the hell happened? Did he get tired of building robot suits so decided to fuck it and just turn himself into a brute?
This Question is sexy as hell. You can tell.
AWW SNAP! Only other person I know that used kryptonite gaunteles was Luthor.
All I see is Batman wearing hulk hands.
Second issue! This ride ain't stopping anytime soon. Instead of ending the thread after this issue, I'll keep posting till I find a suitable stopping point.
And now we're in new territory. A new Joker for a new era. I personally loved the reveal. The Joker isyou're crazy if you think I'm revealing this.
Looks like Hal is capable of reverting back to human form, which in all honesty makes him seem kinda otherworldy. I wonder how powerful Miller intended Hal to be right now? It's written as Hal's body became a living battery of will, so is he on the same playing field as Ion or Parallax or even beyond that?
I've been waiting well over a hundred pages for someone to put Lara in her place. Worth it.
Save us Bruce...you're our only hope.
And on that note, I'm going to end the thread here and pick up tomorrow around 6:30-7. I hope everyone enjoyed even if this isn't everyone's cup of tea.
