Mirage issues, best issues. Why is New Mutants so based? they have like 1 bad issue.
I miss Brightwind's mohawk. Now it's just a regular old mane. Bo-ring.
>>85083764
Because the cast is so good.Except for Magma who's just kinda generic
>>85083747
It's designed to be, girl.
Time for good old fashioned shower scene.
Yeah, but that's a terrible haircut, Dani. You can do better.
Should I continue reading generation X ?
I am in issues 4 and the only thing keeping my interest is Jono and Penance who is a cute.
>>85083844
Amara was even pretty decent when she was characterized as a stereotypical roman . it also helps that Magneto is best headmaster.
>>85083961
If you don't like it already maybe it's just not for you. It's definitely Lobdell's strongest work but I'm never been that fond of it myself.
>>85083961
Yes, Chamber is the GOAT Mutant of the mid 90s.
>>85083968
Yeah, true, she has her moments too.
>it also helps that Magneto is best headmaster
Definitely.
>>85084006
> Not Omega Red
What a prick.
Good riddance, desu.
>>85083457
Whos doing the art on this issue?
>>85084068
>>85084094
How old is this guy supposed to be? Its kinda fucked that hes screwing around with a teenager.
>>85084109
Jackson Guice.
>>85084131
I dunno, may be the artist or something. He was friends with Dani so he can't be that much older (if he is older).
Aw, he's just tsundere.
THIS is the "chick" Thanos and Deadpool want to bang so badly?
Oh okay. Still not terribly hot desu.
>>85084304
If it was always a cowboy, I would read a lot more Deadpool. Also they should do a Mirage Mini series or short solo like this issue.
>>85084494
>If it was always a cowboy, I would read a lot more Deadpool
Ha, can you imagine that?
Kyle Baker? THE Kyle Baker? Holy shit.
>>85084561
Lila Cheney looks like Jubilee.
Hah, poor Sam.
I had a professor in college who was into comics and his area of study was Native Americans, never brought up Dani because I was worried how off she is.
it's weird how good these post-Bill S issues are but that stuff is so next level it overshadows them
>>85084752
>it's weird how good these post-Bill S issues are but that stuff is so next level it overshadows them
Thats the thing about New Mutants, its all so good that the best parts overshadow each other. I seriously think its the best thing to come out of Marvel in the 80s.
>>85084752
Huh, very interesting. Based solely on personal experience she doesn't very off to me, just your average modern Native American (well, "average"), but I could be wrong.
>>85084829
I don't most of the Bob McLeod/pre-Bill S issues.
there's a point in the 80s where Claremont just clicks for me and everything is the best
Hey, remember THIS shit?
There's something about this goold old fashioned Southern earnestness that just gets me.
>>85085037
>goold
Again?! OK, am I having a stroke or something, what's going on?
>>85084624
Yeah he did a lot of inking before he really became a full on cartoonist on stuff like Why I Hate Saturn
Poor Dazzler still with no home series of her own.
>>85085203
>Why I Hate Saturn
I miss old Kyle Baker. This current CG shit is BS.
Dammit, Sam :(
>>85085267
I get what he's going for, he doesn't want to use a computer to make comics that look like they were drawn by hand. Unfortunately they look like shit
>It ain't proper. For a man. Here.
Damn.
It's always nice to see a mutant that actually likes being a mutant for a change.
>>85084978
we did read secret wars 2
>>85085037
it's pretty on point.
>>85084624
>>85085203
there's some good Avengers issues he's done around this time
>>85085457
> take him out of this valley
> he'll wither and die
She doesn't know how right she is
Aw.
We need to make Ma Guthrie the headmistress of the next mutant school
>>85084978
You mean the shit that literally killed MY series?
>>85085874
Ahahahahahaha. Man, has anything good ever come from the New Universe?Other than newuniversal that is
>>85086054
>spain shitposts on /int/.jpg
>>85086122
>has anything good ever come from the New Universe?
JRJR did some good work on Starbrand
Oh, Amara.
>Slave-driver
Err...
>>85086284
All I know about Starbrand is that Byrne hated Shooter so much he made Shooter's self-insert and protag accidentally nuke Pittsburg.
>>85086340
Hey we don't know who said it.
It would be weirdest for Karma or Magma
Ah Bobby, always the hothead.
>>85086340
I blame Illyana or Amara
>Capers like this... they have a way of backfirin'
You don't know the half of it.
>>85086418
Magma you really shouldn't be in lava form in the attic
>The Grand Inquisitor of old, Torquemada, is nothing compared to Empath
>Basically, fuck this kid
>>85086461
>all right! Frontier justice!
That's what I call a bad trip.
>>85086541
> Torquemada, do not implore him for compassion.
> Torquemada, do not beg him for forgiveness.
> Torquemada, do not ask him for mercy.
> Let's face it - you can't Torquemada (talk him outta) anything!
>Sneaky badboy bed go bye-bye
lol
>>85086612
+1000 points
>Sanctissima!
What the hell language is that, 'cause it sure as hell ain't Spanish.
>>85086621
Having rival mutant schools is one of the best ideas the X-Men rarely use
Academy X had a lot of fun with it, but post Schism they did what? Have one baseball game?
Thank god Empath here narrates all his woes, otherwise I'd be truly lost.
Yeah, but it was fun.
>Maybe he'll get better on his own
Wouldn't bet on it, desu.
Damn, straight up made him bleed. He ain't fuckin' around.
Oops, gotta go take care of something, will be back asap.
>>85086918
Knowing how strong Thunderbird II/Warpath is that was basically a love tap
We're talking about a guy who eventually knock down sentinels with the force of his clap
>>85085299
Where the hell did this come from all of a sudden?
>>85086572
Wo is she growing or is he shrinking?
>>85084131
In high school there was a kid who was balding, potbellied like a middle-aged dude, and constant five o'clock shadow before he was a junior. He looked like one of the janitors.
>>85085267
>singing crystal
>Killishandra
Ballybran
Dragonhold
Anne McCaffrey references.
>>85091851
And I screwed up the greentext, why not?
x factor really pissed me off
Alright, sorry for the wait, let's finish this batch of issues.
You don't wanna know what I was doing :D
>>85091346
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Shit's freaky.
>>85092505
I'm sorry anon, but it does get better.
Y'know Moira, maybe this wouldn't have happened if you weren't so busy posing for a magazine.
I like how he saved them only to gloat before letting them die anyway.
>Dead line
>Dead Rahne
fucking lol
So was all the Alan Moore Capt Britain stuff in those 2 threads? Some great comics.
Haha, fucking Illyana.
>>85092736
Yeah, that's all he wrote. We're not done with the good ol' Cap'n though.
Ah, traveling with style, eh? Penguin from Batman Returns style that is.
>Sly old devil!
>What a guy!
>you will never get undressed by Magik
The hell is that hairdo supposed to be? Wannabe samurai?
It's never that easy, is it?
Oh yeah, another thing we didn't read. Whatevs.
And just like that, he's suddenly green skinned. Ah, 80's colorists.
>>85093176
these aren't like digital touch ups?
>Baa
>>85093222
Yeah, but they're based on the original coloring.
Oh yeah, we're getting there.
>>85093283
> Moira loves you. And I...
Claremont!
Yep, that they are, trying their damnedest.
I mean, can you really blame him, Kitty?
kek, that's a pretty good disguise
>>85093316
This issue is GREATand super sad
>>85093496
Also a pretty good argument against X-Factor.
Ah, to be young and awkward again...
Kids can be such pricks, and they don't stop when they're teenagers either.
Aw man.
>>85093667
This is an actual prank shitheads are pulling now. SWATing. Like not just the cops, but hyping up the danger enough to get a swat team involved. There are a few videos of it happening live to video game streamers
Poor fellow.
>>85093807
I know, it's awful. People nowadays are so fucked in the head. Or maybe they always were and now they've got more toys to play with.
>>85093865
Yeah the latter
Fuck.
FUCK
Jesus, guys.
Dammit, Kitty.
I wonder how the O5 feel about this?
>There, I told you I could get away with saying all those slurs. You owe me 10 bucks, Illyana
Anyway, that's all for now, more X-Factor later, as we're joined by Louise Simonson! 'till then!
>>85094151
>I wonder how the O5 feel about this?
They're too busy being a Silver Age throwback soap opera to deal with this
>>85094381
> No Kitty you were supposed to look straight at Roberto when you said them
This is probably the best " after school special' issue I've read
>>85084778
the naked magnetoa few issues ago and Lila in that bed makes me think it wasnt rare to masturbate to comics in the 80s.
Also, if Magneto was in his early 30s back then, in Marvel time he should be about 40 right now, I think like 7-8 years have passed since the 80s.
In his trial they said he was turned into a baby, and then into a man in his early 30s.
>>85095660
I believe the High Evolutionary gave him a new body at some point so who knows how old he is physically
>>85095941
also, people draw him very inconsistently.
>>85086693
sanctissima is latin, but it isnt unusual for him to know that since it is a part of a famous prayer to the Virgin Mary.
>>85092765
Dani sure looks like she's enjoying those tentacles creeping up her leg
>>85093444
>with my pet dragon
That can be arranged. Anyway, it has long been my headcanon that Illyana is stunningly beautiful but the longer the look the more "off" she makes you feel.
Thanks, X-anon, for this trip down memory lane.
I forgot how good the 80s were to X-men and the New Mutants. Yes, yes, everyone knows how good the Claremont/ Byrne run was, but it's unfairly overshadowed what came after.
Every now and then, I'll check in on the mutant titles; I really can't keep them straight anymore. And mostly, they seem to have no heart and soul anymore. That's what I miss most of all from these years.
