He never deserved this, now all that's left of him is a crappy team of red shirts that died amounting to nothing.
Well hey, the dog's still alive with all the symbiotes Hybrid was composed of.
I had an idea for a comic and I've already imagined the first 4 issues. Gonna post my ideas.
It's called Symbiote Squad.
The first issue would start with Flash returning to Earth to find Mania, she'd be pretty upset with him for just going to space. She'd also probably make fun of his new look, and he'd make a new look that is a combination of space knight and agent venom. Eddie (still Toxin at this time) reveals he's been keeping an eye on her, because he's still not the biggest fan of symbiotes, and didn't trust her. Anyway, Flash eventually convinces Eddie to help them get rid of the demon inside of Mania, but they have to return to Vegas, where the mark was first put on the Venom symbiote. They travel there and before they even try to start any exorcism, Toxin senses something, and leads them to some sort of cocoon hidden in an alley in Vegas somewhere. When they see it, the Toxin symbiote rips itself away from Eddie, and rejoins with the cocoon, revealing to be the barely alive Pat Mulligan, and the orignal Toxin is returned. When Black heart ripped the symbiote away and almost beat him to death, a small part of the symbiote split itself off and kept Pat alive. Meanwhile, while Flash and Pat are getting to know each other, Eddie isn't feeling too well from the symbiote seperation. At the same time, Scorn appears and has her robot arm fashioned into a sonic canon, and attacks everyone with it. She's here because she doesn't like symbiotes either and is gonna bring them all in or something. However, before she can fire another blast, everyone turns to see Eddie transform back into Antivenom. Cliffhanger ending to issue 1.
Issue 2 picks up right where that left off, with Scorn trying to fire her sonic cannon at Eddie, not realizing it doesn't work on Antivenom. She wasn't planning on him being there. They get into a fight, and Flash figures that Eddie's Anti-symbiote had never been fully gone, just slowly regenerating after spider-island. The introduction of the Toxin symbiote to Eddie's body had just suppressed it even further, but the sudden separation with Toxin brought it to the surface. Anyway, they all fight for a bit with Toxin, Flash, and Mania trying to get it under control. The fight leads them into the middle of Mysterio trying to rob a casino. Mysterio has upgraded himself since we last saw him, and has portable alternate dimension technology from spider-men. Instead of just using illusions, he's bringing in real monsters and creatures from other universes in his robbing schemes. The symbiotes all decide they should stop Mysterio considering innocent people might get hurt, and Mysterio, knowing he's outmatched, flees, and activates something that sucks all the creatures back into their respective dimensions. The symbiotes agree to stop fighting since they can see that they're all good guys, and Scorn leads them back to her temporary base of operations, so they can track down Mysterio. At the base, Scorn reveals she also has Lasher the dog (with 4 of the symbiotes of Mercury team), and used him to track down the other symbiotes. Lasher does not like Antivenom, considering Eddie's the one who killed Hybrid. Anyway, they track down Mysterio, but he's prepared for them this time, and says he knows exactly how to fight them. He raises his arms and tons of portals open, with tons of Carnages from different realities popping out. End of issue 2.
Issue 3 starts with a big splash page of a ton of Carnages. Carnage from 1602, Carnage possessing silver surfer, Spider-Carnage, Superior Carnage, Ultimate Carnage, just a ton of them. They don't know why they're here all of a sudden, but they see the symbiotes and immediately attack them. A huge fight breaks out that probably takes up most of the issue. Antivenom is depowering as many as he can, but it would take too long to completely depower each one, so he's basically just stunning each one as fast as he can. Scorn is blasting sonics, but they're starting to overwhelm her, and the same goes for Flash, Toxin, and Lasher but they all have experience fighting him. Mania is struggling because she's still the newest one, and one Carnage manages to get the upper hand on her and knocks her down. He goes to deliver a killing blow, but is suddenly slammed away by another Carnage. The Carnage says something like "killing a young girl? I knew I was bad, but was I really that bad?" He helps her up and they continue fighting.
(Issue 3 continued)
At this point, Scorn devises a plan, but she needs Mysterio's tech. Toxin grabs him by the fishbowl head and grabs a Carnage by the head, and bashes their heads together, knocking them unconcious. While the others cover her, she uses her arm to interact with the tech, and opens all the Carnages portals that start sucking them all back to their universes. The Carnage that helped Mania grabs something and begs not to go back, saying "it's no fun to be good when everyone else is bad!" and Mania grabs on to him before he's sucked through. The portal closes without him going through. He explains that he comes from an Earth where the AXIS inversion happened, but it was never reversed, and that that world went to hell. The others except Mania are wary of him, and Lasher hates him too, considering their Carnage killed Mercury team. Carnage comments about what a good team they made and comes up with the name. The others kind of think it's a good idea, and need to keep an eye on Carnage anyway. And the first arc is done and the team is formed. The epilogue is a figure on a rooftop watching them, commenting on how Flash has found some new playmates. It's Jack O Lantern.
Agent Venom in the Thunderbolts.
Issue 4 starts with them heading out on a plane to new York. Flash got a message from spider-man to talk to him in person, and they realized there's not much they can do by themselves about the devil's mark by themselves, so they're gonna see doctor strange too. And Pat wants to check on his family to just let them know he's alive. During the flight, Flash explains what happened with the symbiote in space, and Carnage comments that Klyntar is a stupid name and that he's just gonna keep calling it a symbiote. Mania asks if Lasher's gonna be okay in the cargo, and there's a scene in the cargo with a bunch of dogs barking and then Lasher roars with his symbiote to shut them all up. Later, after they land, they're all traveling together and there's a large boom in a nearby bank. It's being robbed by the superior foes (other low tier villains would work too, but I love the foes). Andi is just like "seriously? We just got here!" And Eddie says "Welcome to new York". They jump in to stop them and the foes are hilariously outgunned. Shocker gives them some trouble, but most of them are just terrified of the symbiotes. Overdrive tries getting in a car to get away, but toxin lands on the hood and basically makes him shit himself. Carnage also saves a little girl from falling debris in the battle and she hugs him.
(Issue 4 continued)
Spider-man swings by because he hears the alarm, and speed demon throws himself at his feet asking him to save them. Spider-man looks up to see the squad and just kind of groans to see so many symbiotes. Later, Flash is catching spider-man up about what happened in space and forming their squad. Peter also agrees that klyntar is a dumb name. Andi comments that Peter has a cute butt, and then flash and Peter go talk privately. Peter tells him he learned Flash's identity recently, and then Peter unmasks. Flash is shocked, but in a good way. It basically plays out like in the secret wars spider island tie in. (I'm throwing around the idea of Eddie walking into the room and remembering his identity, just because I want him to remember. He wouldn't be mad at him because he's made his peace.) Also, Peter would ask if the symbiote still hated him, and Flash would just tell him no, but it doesn't like him. Peter would also say hi to Pat. They would say their goodbyes and Pat would head off to his family and the rest to doctor strange. The end is Pat getting home and finding nobody home and the place trashed and with a message written on the wall in possibly blood "Tell Flash Jack says hi"
This is basically a dick measuring contest.
>No, MY dick is bigger!
>YEAH WELL MY DICK IS MADE OF FIRE.
This guy gets it.
So how many symbiotes are there on Earth right now?
The government has the Hybrid symbiotes
Plus minor symbiotes
Marcus the Werewolf Centaur with a symbiote
And then there's symbiote-like beings
The Superior Iron Man armor
Dr. Karl Malus
I think Scream is the only symbiote that's currently dead
>tfw no AxisCarnage/Deadpool team-up where Deadpool tries to teach Carnage what it means to be a hero while taking an introspective look at whether or not he believes himself to be a hero (plus jokes)
Reed Richards is useless and incompetent. Doom had the right idea.
Someone upstairs just wanted to write Anti-Venom out.
tried to please him by taking his body for joy rides at night to beat up bad guys, leaving him chronically exhausted
Tricked him into wearing it again after the first time he got rid of it
never actually talked to him, leading Peter to think it had an ulterior motive
Which is a shame because anti-vnom was great. The good news is, New Eddie sucks cock and if you wanted to write him out completely you could use the biology thing and just have his white bloodcells make a new symbiote outta the blue.
You could even bring back og toxin if you wanted.
its not a literal analogy, but essentially, symbiotes are a drug. they make your body produce more chemicals that naturally occur during duress/adventure/what fucking ever, and they eat the excess
they're like the bad idea drug, theoretically they could feed off of like, a firefighter without making him want to commit violence or get into fights, but then he would be more brave and foolhardy while rescuing people
>Hey, cool costume.
>It makes me stronger, faster, and unlimited webbing! Awright!
>And for some reason, fighting is really fun. I could get so much done like this to boot!
>Man, I'm beat. Time to sleep.
>OH GOD EVERYTHING IS PAIN.
>Better go talk to my main man Reed "The Autism" Richards and see what the dealio is.
>"Yo Peter this shit here is a fuckin' alien costume. It's basically wearing you too by feeding off your adrenaline."
>Shit damn! Better leave it with him! that shit creeps me out even though I displayed no ambivalence to similar concepts before!
>Okie dokie, time to sleep for real.
>I don't remember putting this costume here. Oh well. It looks clean. I'll wear this one.
>SWEET KUNG FU ACTION JESUS ITS THE SYMBIONT.
>GET OFFA MEEEEE.
>BETTER SMACK MYSELF INTO THESE BUILDINGS TO GET IT OFF
>AUGH ITS GETTING TIGHTER IS THIS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GIMP
>REED YOU FUCKASS FIX THIS
>haha pete you wouldn't believe this but it's weaknesses are high frequency sound waves and FIRE.
>Sonic Gun's go ZARK I guess.
>Thank god this is over. This is in no way gonna bite me in the ass for the next decade or so.
And then it stalked him for years afterward out of jealousy, rage, lonliness, and longing.
in a lot of ways, yeah. He got really squicked out at the knowledge he'd been wearing a living thing for the past several months, including at least one instance of banging Black Cat with it on.
For what it's worth, I think Peter was only 18-20 at the time. Still a kid.
as retarded as it is, and venoms fucking jilted lover complex was, theoretically venom would have eventually gotten peter killed, and moved on to someone else
you know, if it wasn't birth number 98 in the history of venom babys and his grandbaby was going to be a super grandbaby but not before his baby was going to be a super super evil baby
hell, him being weirded out by wearing a sentient thong wasn't even the most retarded thing about venom
>theoretically venom would have eventually gotten peter killed, and moved on to someone else
the symbiote wanted to have the same relationship with Peter what it's child would one day have with Cletus, and that would include all sorts of extreme ways of keeping him alive and even bringing him back from death if need be.
Like most relationship issues, honest communication could have solved/prevented it.
I wish it would love me, I would accept it.
If I had to choose any super hero or villain power, I'd easily choose Venom. Not only do I get my favorite super power, shapeshifting, but I get a ton of other abilities like super strength, web slinging and wall crawling.
Antivenom's symbiote isn't technically a real symbiote.
US Agent lost a couple of his limbs fighting Nuke during Siege
He didn't want to become a cyborg so he was wheelchair bound and became warden of the Raft and was in charge of the Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers for a bit.
But then the Dark Avengers wound up in an altered reality and June Covington bonded him to a brain dead symbiote to replace his limbs.
Pretty much, ya. It's also passed down through his offspring. It's sorta just been retconned that most symbiotes have the big spider eyes though, which seems silly to me.
That's the same suit. Sonic and stealth.
that's from Secret Wars: Spider Island.
I'm pretty sure Kaine's suit got shredded when he went full Other during Spider-Verse
>You'll never play a Spider-Man game made by Rocksteady
>You'll never unlock suit upgrades via Parker Industries
>You'll never swing around a highly stylized map with lots of things to do, and a shit load of thought out sidequests
>You'll never unlock a bevy of alternate suits that are cosmetic only
With how he has his own company now, it'd be the perfect excuse.
Doesn't the suit repair itself because of unstable molecules? I remember Kaine couldn't burn it.
Peter still has it, just in storage. It showed up in the background of a recent issue of ASM I think.
I recognize everything here except for the second from the left in the second row. What's that one?
The last time I kept up with any comics was the Venom series and before that teenaged girl showed up. Mania I think her name is? I don't even know.
Point is I've been out of the loop for a while. Assuming I only wanted to read things involving Symbiotes how much stuff am I gonna have to go through to get caught up?
I've always been sexually attracted to male Venom and Carnage and I don't know why.
for Venom, rest of Venom vol.2 if you haven't already, a brief appearance in Superior Spider-Man, Bendis's GoTG, and the current ongoing Venom: Space Knight
for Carnage, Family Feud, Carnage USA, Carnage vs Deadpool, Axis: Carnage, the last couple issues of the main AXIS book, and the current Carnage ongoing
Flash moved to Philly in Venom volume 2, #31, and that's near when he met Andi. that series ended at #42 I think?
There was also Superior Carnage which didn't really matter and wasn't really a symbiote story, but it healed Carnage from his lobotomy. There was then Deadpool versus Carnage which had all of mercury team as well as Carnage. And AXIS Carnage was only 4 issues, but it was absolutely amazing.
Flash went to space to join the Bendis of the galaxy. Don't worry about that.
>will never ever return.
I legit think Mania is going to end up the same way.
Seriously, how am I ever going to get an action figure of her if she never shows up again?
From what I've seen, a lot of /co/ hates him because he's just an edgy 90's character who only wants to kill. I don't really have an issue with that. /co/ seemed to love AXIS Carnage though, if the story times were any indication.
Because most oldfag comic readers think he's just an edgy tryhard character, stuck in the oversaturation of symbiotes that was spawned in the 90's.
This isn't true, of course. But they'll keep telling you it is.
If you had a symbiote, how long would it take you to shapeshift yourself female, if only just to try it?
I don't hate him, but I think he should be used sparingly or Marvel can just say "fuck it" and make him go full slasher movie villain. I want to see him get all fucked up in increasingly ridiculous ways until he ends up like Jason...in space.
Where he'll fight Flash. Because if he's used too much in too similar ways, he gets stale. Nothing it wrong with a character who's crazy for the sake of crazy, but it's easy for such a character to fall into ditch where what they do becomes predictable and just boring. You know he's going to murder a lot of people, it's going to be taken super seriously, but then he's stopped. They've been trying to play up the horror aspect, which is pretty nice for once even if it's hit or miss.
It's why people love Carnage-Man, it was a nice change of pace and gave him a new direction after it seemed like he had done everything. Dark humor works really well with Carnage, and I think they should take a dark humor direction more often with him. I guess it makes sense why he was so overused when he came back because he was gone for a couple years, and we needed an evil symbiote again. Now he's just gotten predictable. I guess that's what happens with comic book villains in general, but fuck.
A new direction is needed.
And not a new direction like Broxin. Fuck Broxin.
>make him go full slasher movie villain. I want to see him get all fucked up in increasingly ridiculous ways until he ends up like Jason...in space.
>Where he'll fight Flash.
that already all happened with Carnage USA followed by Minimum Carnage, it was just the microverse instead of space
That fucking neck stretch, gets me every time!
The art work in that book is fucking aces, and, like most titles, Having Bendis write the character for so long it's great to finally read Flash Venom as a good, fucking sensible character again.
Bringing Anti Venom back would be simple as fuck to write
>Eddie, we found some kind of odd, self reproducing nanobot in your blood, it's inhibiting your white blood cells
>What the fuck? Who could even do something like that?!
>Reed Richards, using Pym molded nanotech
>Dr Richards, I found your nanobots, what the hell man?
>Eddie, you're dangerous, and with that Power you were one of the most dangerous men on the planet, I had to take steps.
>dangerous? I was a healer! I was helping tgebworld, curing people
>Yes, like you tried to cure Spider-Man of his powers? How you could have "cured" my family of our powers? You were a risk I wasn't willing to take Mr Brock, I'm sorry but-
Reed is the kind of Dick to do just this, in my fanscript Scorn finds the bots and reverses the subsonic frequency they were emitting to keep the anti symbiote in check.
She died just the same as the Hybrid Symbiotes which were brought back. All it'd take is someone to remember she existed and wanted to have another Symbiote in the story for whatever reason. I mean at least it'd be better than
>Carnage/Toxin are spawning! Let's do this plot line again!
>And then there's symbiote-like beings
And that thing Mr. Sinister made by mixing Kraven, X-Men, Carnage, and possibly his own DNA all together.
More importantly, his big white eyes are cute.
Reading this run for the first time, this has to be one of my favorite pages. But the only thing that keeps it from being incredibly, ridiculously fucking gay is that the symbiotes are genderless.
I know what you mean. I was waiting for the whole suppressor drug thing to eventually bite him in the ass. But then nope, Remender's run was over and not even a single hint that maybe, just maybe it was dick move that they shouldn't have got away with. But oh well.
But yeah, it annoyed me that post-drug their relationship was pretty much considered resolved as far as the story was concerned, and the rest was only about Flash's family drama. Which was nice and all, but it's like killing off one half of a team up book halfway through the story. I'm not reading a Venom book for a mostly dormant power armor.
It's version of helping was fucking shit up and flying off the handle till he swallowed enough anti-epinephrine and horse tranquilizers to down a platoon of dutch marines.
He was right to be angry, but he equally loved it. Part of that anger was him trying to convince himself it WAS bad, but it's okay because it was purified and lobotomized post remender. Thanks Bendis you fuck.
>Ultimate Venom died in the incursion
>Alone in a tiny ass bottle
>Pat is still alive
I'm down with this.
Though personally I choose to believe that Pat was left for dead somewhere by Crimemaster's goons. Your typical,'We've hurt him so much that he's BOUND to die soon, let's leave him to suffer' bullshit.
Pat lies there, bleeding out as he listens to the screams of Toxin being dragged away. As he starts to pass out, drifting off into death, he starts apologising to Spidey, to Toxin, to his wife, to his son that he's not seen in years. Now he never will. He's failed to keep a single one of his promises, and now Toxin is going to be corrupted and used for evil.
Cue big pappa bear instincts. Pat promised to look after Toxin, and ensure that the symbiote grew up right. Ate it's vegetables before getting treats, knew right from wrong, looked both ways before crossing the street. He already can't be there for his son, and now this? Throw in a vision of his son bonding with a now corrupted Toxin, and both of them mocking him for failing so hard. Pat ain't having none of this shit.
He drags himself to the nearest hospital, and spends the next few months/years/whatever getting patched up and recovering. Lies and says he doesn't remember who he is or what happened to him. Can't have any word getting around that he's still alive. It'd cause Crimemaster to come after him/go after his wife.
Calling in a few favours from his cop days, or just his knowledge, he starts training and preparing. He's got to be ready. Think Frank Castle becoming The Punisher. Keeping his head down and his ear to the ground, he tracks any mention of Toxin, or any of the symbiotes. He's full on Unperson at this point. No one knows who he is, what he's up to, or even if he's still alive.
Fair enough, but I like my explanation because it also could explain why Toxin acted o differently on Brock at first, because it wasn't whole.
He thought he did, but the symbiote survived. The government got it and split it up between a team of soldiers and a dog. Then Carnage killed them all and the dog has all those symbiotes now.
Before he was bonded with Toxin, it seemed like Brock's powers were coming back on their own. He jumped off a building when he was hunting Hybrid, and he used webbing to pull the furnace open when he killed Scream.
The way they drew his eyes in that scene was also kind of weird.
>tfw your symbiote waifu will never cover you in her green slobber
there's a half dozen odd symbiote girls but the only one you have post a picture of is she-venom.
I question your commitment to sparkle motion
Challenge accepted (but she venom is my favourite, dat tongue is QT)
It was the early 90's you could get away with anything back then.
I'd settle for a Gwenom (why wont Marvel do this goddamn)
I'd say the current incarnation of Black Cat could do a pretty good job.
There really isnt much quality Scream art out there, which is a shame.
Back to the A material
Are you me?
Dont tell me you like the full teeth & tongue look too?
Ah good, my status as a special snowflake is secured
Not him, but you don't get to be asnowflake! Not anymore!
For I too, am a victim of Teratophilia!
I feel you 100%.
The Agent Venom issue right after spider-island.
I can't remember exactly, but I remember it being from before ASM 700.
This guy runs over a kid and his mom in his tank after he robbed a bank during Spider-Island.
Flash completely loses it, and hunts him down back to his safehouse, only to eat his fingers off, then kill him.
Well at the end of superior we see that Ock kept pretty much all the suits just in a room and Peter goes to get his classic suit back from it, so I imagine most alternate costumes are just in storage.
I I thought I was the only one Anon
How would a symbiote react when her host has her period?
Would she help her out and absorb it or be like "eew humans are gross"?
Or would it be like a super crazy PMS freakout with extra flow?
I don't think symbiotes are grossed out by any biological functions. The only thing they seem to find gross is the notion of actually nurturing your spawn rather than competing with it for territory.
for that matter, the symbiote could probably mess with the hosts hormone levels to cause her to stop menstruating, but there'd be a chance it loves the triple dose cocktail of pain, frustration, and horniness.
>this whole thread
this should not expand dong, but it does...
I can't remember if they ever explicitly said in the book if this guy/thing was a symbiote of the same kind as Venom is.
Looks like a knock off of Morbius.
Face it, 'non. You enjoy all the gnashing teeth, tongues, and voloptuous women symbiotes.
Hasn't the Venom Symbiote been called female several times?
And now I'm imagining the Venom symbiote possessing some bombshell and raping spider-man. Thanks anon.
>Introducing Marvel's newest rising star.
I don't know why, but things like that always get me.
Especially since I've never heard of Wildstreak before.
>Venom symbiote is female
I thought they were genderless.
Sources, please and thanks?
>Newest Rising Star
I think it's because that the Big 2 are like Vince McMahon- they think they know what we want, and that we like it, and it's only until we speak up and out that they realize they fucked up hard.
Probably no one liked her, so she got canned.
>You wanna help it?!
>Instead of helping a clearly sentient being, they stand there like a couple of rubes jerking over how far it's come while she get's blasted into nothingness.
>he thinks Klyntars were something new Bendis pulled out his ass
Gonna post some other symbiote art by Japanese artists.
>implying Eddie isn't best host
When's Eddie gonna kick ass in the Carnage series anyway?
>no long tongue
those were dark days
>I like weird shit aliens, and goo monsters too.
>Oh but, only if I get to see their face, and if they look human :^)
You know the kind.
If the term normie were to ever be used properly, it would be here.
I never cared about Eddie as a character. I just read his appearances for the symbiote. Eddie worst host.
this jacket look was pretty sweet though
forgot about Angelo, but he was only host for less than a dozen pages so is easily forgivable.
I liked Mac though, however that may have been influenced by his becoming Venom being part of the Marvel Knights story about how brand power of masked supermen is shaping the Marvel universe
>Still no Super Sentai Symbiote Supaidaman team-up combination of 5 different symbiotes to form 1 giant mass of tumerous spiders
Fuck, can you imagine how dangerous a Yellow Lantern Scarecrow Symbiote would be?
>Fueled by Fear
>Fear fueled by Fear Gas
>Fear creates adrenaline
>Symbiote fueled by Fear
Here's a WIP sketch. Hopefully somewhat close to what you had in mind
I got this crazy dream when a symbiote was sucking my dick.
Then I found out It was some Jell-o in my pants.
And here are lines. If the thread survives into tomorrow long enough, I'll try to throw on some rendering or color
>Seriously, how am I ever going to get an action figure of her if she never shows up again?
I saw this in an old symbiote thread
A custom Mania action figure exists, damn that lucky bastard
A teenage girl from the highschool Flash was the gym teacher at. Jack O Lantern killed her dad and then tried to kill her, but Flash put a bit of his symbiote on her to protect her, but the symbiote spat out a clone of itself it had reabsorbed awhile back, but also the demon mark it had had.
It's part of the reason Cable and Deadpool #50 is my favorite single issue of all time.
once about a time someone cloned the venom symbiote. shit happened and the venom symbiote absorbed the clone and killed its mind.
Later, it got it in its head that it wanted some magic power to give it an extra edge in some uncoming spawning season that was gonna hit all the symbiotes on Earth, so it made a deal with Mephisto and got a hellmark.
Later, Daimon Hellstrom tried to get the symbiote demonically possessed so he could control Venom, but instead the demon got trapped in the hellmark, unable to escape. The symbiote loathed the idea of sharing a host, so at the first chance it got, it shunted the demon and the hellmark into the clone and gave it to a young girl called Andi that Flash was trying to save. She dubbed herself Mania and was Agent Venom's sidekick for the latter half of Agent Venom.
Her plot got abruptly left hanging when Bendis demanded he get Agent Venom for his GotG book.
Despite her contrived origin she was well written and a lot of people were pissed she just got abandoned against her creator's wishes.
>Hey so uh... There's this thing that we have to uh, do, you see.
>Bendis, that is, the comic writer, Bendis, uh, wants Agent Venom for his uh
>Kitty Pryde and the Guardians of the Galaxy book.
>So uh, we need to drop the Agent Venom book
>Which means that, um, Mania can't come with. So... Sorry.
>What? Why? Oh um, well... It's.. Bendis? Yes, that Bendis.
>I mean, it's Bendis, uh, why wouldn't we?
I mean, she was pretty punky before the symbiote.
Does anyone have the picture a few panels after this where she's smiling at Flash because she saw him use his powers?
fucken bendis. We gotten gotten Anti-Venom back in some form too.
Goddamn that rustle our Jimmies...
Pretty sure that's not true? I remember in the planet of the symbiotes storyline, two of the heroes who were able to hold their own were Human Torch and Blackbolt.
>she was well written
You fucking what. That arc made little to no sense. How is it fine to give a symbiote to an underage girl? "Oh whoops I can't absorb it back, I guess you get to keep it then." What the fuck kind of reasoning is this? Blast her with some sonic weapon nigga then bottle that shit. Or better yet, call up your military friends or the Avengers who actually know how to remove it. Or at least pump some drugs into her.
But hey, she is a natural, mastered controlling it in 5 minutes, so obviously that makes it A-OK. Because the kid who feels she is too cool for PE and shows zero remorse about butchering dozens of people, which she by the way never even gets called out on because some funny banter is all it takes for her to get away with because I don't fucking even, that is the person you want to run around with a symbiote.
Well written? Come the fuck on. That arc took a piss on everything that came before. It's like Bunn suddenly decided he wants to write Hawkguy instead of Venom.
blasting with a sonic weapon doesn't separate symbiotes from hosts when they've already fully bonded, it just causes them intense pain
and Flash was AWOL at the time so couldn't just call in the Avengers since they'd be obligated to just turn him over to his handlers
and Flash had butchered plenty of criminals in his tenure
and he had no drugs left
and the only people who didn't master their symbiote right away was Peter, because it wasn't written as a symbiote back then until the arc were he got rid of it
They were not fully bonded just after she got the symbiote. They weren't in any rush when they were standing on the rooftop, in fact nothing happened for several days.
Flash was not AWOL, the military project was already shut down. The Avengers knew where he was, and he was still keeping contact with Beast who supplied him with the drugs. Hell, Beast was going to analyze that mechanical alien shit Flash encountered in Philly.
One is a soldier. The other is a teenage girl. There is a huge difference. Not to mention Flash did everything he could to suppress the symbiote's nature and never give in to its bloodlust.
He did have drugs left, he even asked Andi to use it on him a few issues later if his memory scrying doesn't turn out well.
Yeah, but see pic related. It was meant to be special.
There's also some dude going around recruiting Spidey baddies using their dead loved ones (Rhino's wife, Lizard's family, etc). He could make a go at Eddie, though it would probably go badly, since Eddie no longer seems to be as much of a desperate, borderline-suicidal wreck as Aleksei and Curt.
>>Bendis, that is, the comic writer, Bendis
>What a lovely singing voice you must have
>The retcon establishing the symbiotes as a benevolent peacekeeping force was intended to appeal to new fans who do not know that Venom was ever a villain and simply perceive the character as "a hero, a good guy with a super cool costume that can do amazing things" instead of a monster.
what do you guys think of Bendis' klyntar reboot origin of the symbiotes?
I personally think its terrible even though he made it make sense
It's terrible not just in terms of story but in terms of visual design. New Venom looks like some Mass Effect cast off.
Terrible, shitting on one of my favourite characters in a way dumber writers couldn't manage with their hamfists
I was born in the 80s and collected most Venom books ever since, including holos of oldies like the Lethal Protector series, but I was sort of worried for his future when they sent him to space and now my fears have played out.
At least I can sit back and reread one of the best eras in Spider books - that beautiful time when Scarlet Spider and Venom had their own books.
>How did he manage to retcon it?
He's Bendis. He can get away with whatever the fuck he wants.
That basically was the original story.
Something about the Venom Symbiote being seperated from the symbiote race's collective for too long and going nuts, which was fixed by a trip to the symbiote homeworld.
Other 'evil' symbiotes explained as renegades or similar offshoots that had been too far away from their homeworld.
Moar steampunk-setting Venom.
It's still hard to believe that Lady Spider and Co. began as pieces of fan art.
Damn, I didn't notice the nipple when I posted that. Now I'm going to get in trouble.
>Something about the Venom Symbiote being seperated from the symbiote race's collective for too long and going nuts, which was fixed by a trip to the symbiote homeworld.
>Other 'evil' symbiotes explained as renegades or similar offshoots that had been too far away from their homeworld.
That's so dumb.
If I recall correctly, the Symbiotes were all meant to attach to and drain as many hosts as possible, and were generally pretty evil. Venom was kicked out because he wanted to bond and co-exist with his host. Only reason he became rage-filled was because his first host rejected him, and all the symbiotes spawned from Venom reflected similar personality traits (wanting to bond permenantly but exhibiting rage).
Fucking Venom how does he work?
I mean what exactly is going on here, the physics of it are...confusing.
I like the Cronenburg-esque explanation the best
I never thought of it until /co/ mentioned it, but I like the idea of Symbiotes actually bonding with the flesh and bone of the user and being able to manipulate it. Something like out of Prototype.
Freaky body-horror symbiotes are the best
It's fine, I don't give a fuck. It's going to be retconned one day, Bendis is not going to live forever. Until that day comes we'll endure. And at least it gives me some incentive to outlive Bendis instead of killing myself right here and now.
I've read that comic.
>mfw venomized gwen basically rapes Pete against a wall, makes him deepthroat her tongue and starts eating his shoulder.
It was certainly a thing.
Complete and utter shit. Bendis doesn't seem to realize the Venom symbiote was actually a character with it's own thoughts, feelings, and personality. It would be like taking a villain who was trying to go straight and brainwashing them.
At least when the time comes it will be ridiculously easy to retcon. Some species obviously did something to the other symbiotes to turn a force of evil into tools for justice. Eventually when Bendis is dead and gone, Flash will learn about it and the Venom symbiote will be able to fight off what happened to it when it's needed most.
Speaking of Klyntar, how's the new Venom ongoing?
Like pic related?
I dont have it anymore, dunno where you would find it other than buying it.
Venomcat looked like a skimpy costume rather than a symbiote/venom. Venomgwen actually goes full-venom.
>Hasn't the Venom Symbiote been called female several times?
I recall Brock referring to the symbiote as a "her" at some point. But I cannot recall when it happened. I was actually trying to track down this panel recently. No luck, though.
I thought it was during or around the 90's Planet of the Symbiotes.
>how's the new Venom ongoing?
First issue had godawful art, and the whole thing is about Flash running around on an enemy space ship while every single chucklefuck he meets instantly goes "Oh wow look, it's a Klyntar! That guy is an Agent of Cosmos!".
That being said it was somewhat readable, and I don't think that 6 issues this thing will last can do much harm.
You can find it pretty easily on google bro
It's probably because of intimate being bonded is. It's like how Cletus calls his symbiote his wife.
Using the whole "don't confuse new readers" is a terrible excuse because:
a. They are still calling him Venom
b. He had a unique appearance
c. He's Agent Venom, which is a whole lot lest confusing than all the other character offshoots
I wouldnt know. Just googled the name.
I like Ben too, but Kaine's Scarlet Spider run was concurrent to the FlashVenom book. It was a time before SpOck when the spinoff characters had better books than the real Spider-Man.
fair enough, but Black Cats symbiote outfit got little kitty ears and pawprints on her palms which was a nice touch considering the only other version of her was WoS which didn't do much at all.
This is why Edge of Times costume selection is GOAT.
It not only includes obscure shit [Last Stand, Assassin, and Poison]
But famous stuff like Ben Reily's Spectacular suit, Scarlet Spider 1 and 2, and even Miles suit.
Each description for them also provided ample explaination as to why it was there and being worn. Like, Miguel was given Ben's suit after EoT, and was honored to wear it, being considered a real Spider hero.
>no one posted scorn form that badd ass comic where she kills cassidys little girlfriend
Failures the lot of you
Best carnage comic to be released in like forever next to hero carnage trying to be a good guy
But it sold less than Carnage. If Space Knight doesn't go right I can totally see them going back to classic Venom. That's until Bendis lets him go off the GotG. It's the same thing with Gargan, when Dark Avengers finally ended they took it off him because Marvel realized it wasn't working.
After some super sleuth work, I found it (most of the images are broken, since the site is over a decade old).
But the original fanfic is located here: https://web.archive.org/web/20050206121528/http://d-drive.phalnet.com/22fanficshevenomstory.html
>and starts eating his shoulder.
>when you want to fuck a toothy symbiote so badly you create a character live out all your dirty fantasies
