Somehow I realize the reason why the others hate RWBY : School theme.

Since "Red" trailer and until "Yellow" trailer, people expect the series is more mature and darker than the current on-going show. A friend of mine the series would be better if the character is affiliated to Hunter's Guild rather than Academy. Normal education is present here as your usual daily school or academy, with Huntsman as one of career path that the students can choose.

The Hunter's Guild accept Huntsman from age 20 to 50. At this point, the main characters should be older than current show (Ruby is 18 years old, being the exceptional as the youngest competent Huntswoman, while Blake and Weiss is 20 and Yang is 21).

In Hunter's Guild, Huntsman takes job/mission for Grimm-related problem in society. They also can train or learn in the Guild, at the same time provides them meal and a place to stay/sanctuary.

That's why I dropped the show initially, and didn't pick it back up until after I heard Monty died.

I like the idea of a guild theme really. And the show really does go on for as long as they're saying it will, we might get to see the characters post-graduation from Beacon.

To summarize it, that little dial that was spun was an adjustment for the sight of the rifle. It is the most accurate adjustment for the crosshair to a certain length that the rifle is fired on.

From that adjustment say .5 MOA at a hundred yards you can calculate shot placement at longer ranges.

I forgot for the plot. Other than Ruby being newbie and young but competent Hunswoman at Beacon Hunter's Guild, Weiss apply herself as a Huntsmen because she want to escape from her uptight family and gain freedom (which people concluded in White Trailer).

Meanwhile Blake joined the Guild later because she defected from the White Fang and had no place to stay. Plot twist that she was meant to spy on the Guild on the order of the White Fang's top leader. She's also told to betray Adam and the lower White Fang's peers to make the proof of defection more real if she was questioned by someone. Because of this she was conflicted between choosing Guild friends and her White Fang peers in matter of loyalty.

Yang is the same as the current show, joined the Guild together with Ruby.

Alright, so I've got some notion of where I might go with the Penny thing. We'll see how it flows and I'll post a conclusion sometime soon.

This still leaves my main idea undone though, since I originally wanted to do something RWBY with a cyberpunk theme.

But, I've got an idea that should work out with a little fleshing out.

Listening to some she, trying to figure out what could be cool to explore in this setting. We could have Huntsmen be a sort of "Blade Runner" role, though I see them as being similar to the Masons in Bastion; they maintain the walls pf the city but they're also soldiers when needed. Whether it's a voluntary job in this society or a sentence for a criminal conviction is up in the air.

Well the energy that I am talking about comes from an extra-dimensional source. Those who have unlocked their "aura" have learned how to tap into the matrix.
