The good parts of Cerebus (High Society, Church and State, Jaka's Story).
>Plot: perfect demonstration of the absurdity of real-world politics with their ramifications played straight in a fantasy setting
>Visuals: Dave Sim's constant drive to improve every single aspect of his own skills (even down to the lettering) coupled with the masterwork of Gerhard's backgrounds
>Characters: mixing everything from Elric to Foghorn Leghorn to the Marx Brothers with superhero parodies and classic rock stars and Oscar Wilde, and none of it feels out of place
>Execution: hilarious, tear-jerking, thought-provoking, sometimes all at the same time
>Effect on the medium: being the groundbreaker which proved that creator-owned comics could compete on the direct market and not just the underground, and the trailblazer which paved the way for a shift to collected editions having equal priority with floppies

Of course, thanks to the bad bits (Chasing YHWH), Cerebus is the only comic to which I award both a 5/5 and a 0/5.

Obviously untrue, and if it is true it'll either be unfaithful to the point that it being an adaption is meaningless, or it'll be horrible because Asylum's length and the sheer amount of events makes it unsuitable for film, the pacing would be awful.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Godfather and The Wire, but the similarities are really damn blatant at times.

or maybe like.. once the kids are grown, they'll have more free time? but as I recall, the hiatus started in the first place due to more babby, which makes no sense because internet-cartoons is the best way to make enough money to pay for a kid while also spending most of your time close to them, saving on babysitters, etc.
