is $AAPL done?

are they just a financial engineering company at this point?

This is the new Galaxy S8

How will the iPhone even compete?

It looks a bit narrow...
>>
Apple is inflated, they are relying too much on mobile now while abandoning there core products such as desktops and laptops and tablets. The company just exists for each new iteration of iphone, which relies heavily on people perceiving it as a status symbol.

So I just finished reading pic related. I can see why it's often called "the Bible of index investing".

I know this one is on the recommended reading list, and it was quite an enjoyable read, even if it got a little bit repetitive towards the end.

What is /biz/'s opinion on this book? Is he correct? A lot of his arguments seem really strong, and his investment policy is basically mine.

However, after reading this I feel like 99% of all other "great works" of investing are basically rendered useless.

Crypto trading question...

Rookie trader here. Just learned about Polo's stop-limit feature. What a neat little trick, I imagine it's pretty standard though, right? How else can you protect your gains while you go to sleep...

But considering the high volatility of crypto and the fact that the high-volume coins always bounce back... isn't it almost impossible to lose money long term trading crypto? It seems to me like it wouldn't be too hard to make anything from small to moderate gains if one is patient enough? Is this true? Obviously the get rich quickly phase of crypto is over, but from what I know it seems like a pretty sound strategy to multiply savings, no?

Please tell me you're underage.
>>
Whatever you're trading strategy is, there's a way to get royally screwed. A coin that's high-volume one day could fall rapidly and then get de-listed a few months later.

has this ever happened? all the coins i've ever followed seem to pe very resilient. of course i can see it happen with some of the shittier low-volume alt coins. but if you trade btc/eth/etc/xmr/dash I frankly don't see it happening. unless i guess you get extremely unlucky.

>been looking for a job for a while
>find perfect position
>skills and experience are a perfect fit for this role
>company itself sounds like exactly what I'm looking for
>it is a senior-level management position
>speak to HR guy who says that they need me to take a "culture index survey" before they will review my resume and begin the interview process
>"culture index survey" is a list of 25 words like "perseverance", "eye for detail", and "agreeableness"
>must pick the top 10 that would describe me - whole thing takes like 5 minutes
>they tell me to wait to receive the results back before submitting my resume
>hear back several days later and they've rejected me
>because of a stupid fucking word selection "cultural fit index"
>they didn't even look over my skills and experience
>for a fucking senior management position

What the fuck is going on with these HR people? Have they gone mad? I've yet to come across a single HR person who has any fucking clue what they are doing. How can they do this and expect to learn anything? How can they think that this is an acceptable or effective way of screening applicants? Jesus Christ.

>should I lie on these exams and put the answers you know the company is looking for

There wasn't any way to lie or con the system, really. It was a list of 25 one-word traits and all of them were positive. I picked the ones that seemed most suitable for the position. The fact that they based their screening for a high-level management position entirely on this shitty little quiz is the part that galled me. Absolutely nuts.
>>
>>1828369

Okay.

Well contact management, or the department you would have been working in. Explain the scenario and how HR's test may have excluded you from a job you would be perfect for.

You may still get a shot as many companies do not like their HR people.

Any of you fuckers know a way to earn about 2-300 dollars pretty fast? or maybe somewhere to get a small personal loan?

I took two things away from this one that the key to wealth is borrowing money and living on it like its yours until it really is. Fake it to make it. and the other, collaborating with successful friends is how to become successful in the first place.
