Let's say you never have to work again. You have no debt, a home, a car and a monthly income of 2k.

What would you do with your life?

For the sake of entertainment let's say you can't do anything with the intent of acquiring money.

>can't do anything with the intent of aquireing money

Ok. But you should at least hedge for inflation, etc.

Rent your lifestyle. Lease houses and vehicles. Travel as you please. Stay away from drugs, etc.

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Is there a possibility I'll need to be concerned that my company asks me to pay them back a portion of my salary? When I was hired, I had four days of vacation scheduled in the probation period, which my CEO let me take.

She wasn't counting these toward my overall vacation time for the year, they were just paid "freebies." However, I just got back from vacation, and put in my two weeks notice. I'll have only been with the company for 60 days.

She's pissed at me. Would she be in her legal rights to either garnish my wage or legally ask for that money back, or any other kind of legal action?

The entire vehicle industry worldwide is about to be destroyed. Anyone who has any investments in a car company needs to divest immediately. Those stocks are fucking dead.

The End of Ownership of automobiles is here. This also effects oil prices heavily.

The change over is happening. Reminder: SELL any oil and transport companies asap. By the end of the year every single car company in the world will be down in value by 40%.

Self-Driving Cars are performing above expectations.

If you own any car company get the fuck out ASAP. The value is going to be diminished majorly by the end of the year and it's impossible to predict valuation. The number of cars required in 2025 is about 1/10th of today's number. Get the fuck out ASAP. Normies are starting to wake up to it. You have until the end of the year, but get out now.

Seriously. If you have any money in oil or vehicle companies. Get out ASAP.

T-today will be the day I finally stop wasting shitloads of money on junk food and coffee.

I wasted so much fucking money on these. I binged for 1 out of 2 days on average for over a year and more than that in recent months. I could have used all that money on cryptocoin speculation (and be ripped). Not that i have a view, i just don't want to miss the boat.

Just got approved for a basic 300 capital one credit card (unsecured) and I'm approved for a 300 suntrust credit cared but it's secured. Should I apply for a unsecured since I was approved by capital one?
I'm paying on about 2000 in debt as well.
Credit score is in the mid 500s. My plan is to use both cards and utilize 100 from each a month and pay off complete before date. The plan is to save 10000 and apply for fha home loan by March 2018.
Any advice on how to boost credit faster and experience with fha loans with no down payment
Interest rates/monthly payment/home loan amount/did u refinance?

I have baby on the way and really need a house.

Google it but those are your best options I believe just make payments for a year and your credit should be low 700s assuming those are your only cc's? I heard it's good to rent now wait for bubble to burst in 20202019 before buying a home
>>
>>1892761
Thanks. Do you know any stock apps or sites for people just starting. I heard about cvm but don't know how to trade
>>
>>1892768
bro if you just now got approved for an unsecured credit card, you really don't need to be worried about stocks yet. paying off your cc debt is a guaranteed return of whatever the interest rate is- you can't beat that with stocks.

pay off debt
build up emergency fund
save for house
make more money
then start investing

Do you /biz/ owners have a mentor? How did you find him? Do you value their time and opinions?

My business is going great but I grapple with bigger (100k+) decisions quarterly and contend with smaller (10k) weekly and I find myself constantly going with my gut and winging it. I have no real method to my decisions other than past events and pro/con cost/benefit analysis. I have been wrong a few times and I wonder if having a mentor would guide me to mitigate the miss rate when making bigger decisions about my business and personal finances?

I am not a business owner but I work for a smaller company that was absorbed by a very large one. I was lucky to be brought on board when the company and my team was smaller and the manager who hired me onto his team saw a lot of potential in me. I'm a software developer and was extremely fresh getting hired and learned a ton because I knew he was on my side and he would take the time to explain things that were clearly new to me.

Now he is gone and I'm still here. I'm a staple of the team simply because I've been here. I will never forget the impact that dude had on me as far as taking responsibility, acting a certain way at work, and treating people fairly. I enjoy explaining things to people and I always think about how it took a handful of times for someone to say "I'm gonna take a couple of extra minutes to show this kid something I know he's capable of" to help me for life.

You should find a mentor, and not just one.

My dad owns a self serve carwash, in North California, gross 100k net 30-40k. Costs include like the 10k we gotta pay for a new frame since the old one is rusting out. Vacuums coin op. The carwash is 4 minutes for 5 dollars, 1 token= 1 dollar. But the timer gives you 5 minutes because my dad is paranoid about getting sued for false advertising.gonna change the token so that we stop getting chuck E cheese tokens, dunno how much that'll save. Every month we get like a coffee can full of chuck E cheese tokens lol. Anyway thoughts on that? Can't be sure but I think the property should be valued somewhere from 1.3-2 mil. We can't sell it for 7 or so years for some reason I dunno, but legally we're allowed to swap it for property of equal value, dunno how that works just what my dad told me lol. Thoughts?

>Pic similar to the carwash, but ours is more run down

>swap for like investment

That's a 1031 exchange.

Here's an idea:

Sell the business and hold some of the note with a worthwhile interest rate. But keep the property.

If they fail to pay repossess the business, rinse and repeat.

Does it still make sense to buy property for potential income in the current economy?

A bit of background, I live in MA. The majority of housing up here is cotton mill tenements from the late 1800s to the 1920s. Depending on building ownership, they're either well kept by generations of families, or decrepit energy sucking tinder boxes. They can still be cozy and nice places to live, assuming you put in the work modernizing them.

Multi-family houses at the bottom end of the price range go for around $100k, with scenic views of the projects and often need down to the studs renovations. The upper end are usually well kept and clean, in the low to mid $200k range.

I'm no stranger to manual labor and have several friends with carpentry, plumbing, and electrical backgrounds. Would it make sense for me to invest about now?

Landlord here

For rental properties, you first need to look at the gross rent vs the purchase price. If monthly rent (for all units combined) is about 1% of the purchase price, then it generally is in the right ballpark. If not, move on.

Next, make sure you're buying in an area that makes sense, not just because you live there. Is your potential property close to job centers? Is the neighborhood good?

A popular way to go for long-term rentals is doing a BRRR deal (buy-rehab-rent-refinance). You buy a fixer below market for all cash, rehab it, rent it out, then in a year, you do a cash-out-refi and can get all of your money back out.

Keep doing it until your potential income is enough for your goals and start snowballing the debt repayment.

Just don't make the mistake of thinking you need to buy rentals somewhere just because you live there. Prop management companies are your friend and will allow you to scale.

Anyway, check on biggerpockets.com, it's the best online resource.
